   best steak and vegetables you will ever eat….large portions…left full carrying a To Go box…. amazing deals and prices…friendly staff…. made reservations on line for a table for 4 four days ahead, arrived on time yet still waited 45 min for our table which we found to be odd….each one commented saying the dessert was comically sweet but the other food items were the best we had ever eaten

   This was our first time at Ernest's and we were very impressed. We had perhaps the best red snapper meal we've ever had. Jordan, our waiter was exceptional, knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly. He kept my water glass full without me asking. We'll definitely come back.

   This is our favorite place in town to dine. The service is always outstanding and the food is beyond amazing. The staff makes sure you have the best experience, no matter what the occasion is. The atmosphere is quiet and nice with a feel of history as you enter the doors. We haven’t had one bad meal or moment at Ernest’s. I highly recommend eating there any day of the week.

   Dinner at Ernest's completely made our visit to Shreveport! What character! Service was friendly and attentive. The food was great, but the live music in the bar made it an experience to remember. Three of us shared dishes family style and there was enough to fee three more. Very fun.

    It seemed to us that the waiter was overworked trying to service too many tables and we had to keep reminding him of what we needed at various times. We were seated on the side of the restaurant that had live music and it was very difficult to carry on a conversation due to the noise level of the people and the music. We would like to have had a choice of what side of the restaurant to sit on. We did have reservations. Some of the dishes were excellent like the gumbo, but some where average. The snapper versions we ordered either had a "fishy" taste to it and the other one did not have hardly any shrimp on it, only crabmeat for the topping. Desserts were very good. Overall, the $186 bill which was only for the food and dessert(We had no drinks) was overpriced for the overall experience.

    I was very disappointed we had a reservation at 7 got there on time was seated service was worse I ever had waiter finally took our drink order after stopping and coming back we were a party of 6 she finally took our food order one hour and forty minutes to get our food and was not hot I’ve been coming there for 30 years but I want be back it spoiled my wife birthday and we came from Dallas

    We love everything about Ernest’s. My husband and I drive from Dallas at least twice a year just to eat there. The crab claws, bread and shrimp are amazing. We have never had a bad meal. Thanks to Jay for taking care of us!!

    Ernest Orleans NEVER disappoints. The staff are amazing, courteous, attentive and loving. The food is always hot and tasty and the portions are generous. I highly recommend this restaurant for a casual gathering, nice dinner with a friend or family, or even if you are solo. If you are celebrating, they celebrate too!     In the past we have enjoyed our experiencess at Ernest’s but this time was different. From the beginning, our reservation was for 7:30 , however, we weren’t seated until 7:45. This wasn’t such a big deal but the this slowness continued. Our server was obviously overwhelmed as he took a very long time to greet us and take our drink order. Bread that we normally enjoy (one of my favorites) was room temp and close to cold instead of hot like normal. The slow service continued throughout the entire dinner. Dinner salads were drenched in dressing like a soup, not edible. Asked for new ones which were provided with dressing on the side. Much better. The food wasn’t satisfying. The whole experience was a fail this time.😔

    The food was great but I order the snapper Ernest and found a piece of plastic wrap on the bottom of my fish. I informed the waiter but I suppose they didn’t think it was worth making it up to us in anyway. The food was great again but spending more than 150$ on a two person meal and finding plastic in my food seemed fairly mediocre.

    From out of town, didn't know there was a promotion that night, so waited over an hour past our reservation, but the food was excellent and the staff remained good-natured in spite of the overcrowding and busyness. I recommend Ernest's.

    Our reservation was for 5pm. We were not seated till 6pm. The waiting area was so packed you could not move and more were outside waiting. We ordered marinated crab claws that were so small that they broke off and marinated had a different taste than usual. The shrimp appetizer was fabulous! I ordered Snapper Shreve and was served snapper champagne that was drowned in butter. We have dined at Earnest for many years. But, the last two visits have been very disappointing. Definitely not a $325 (gratuity included) for a party of three dining experience.

    Waiter was not so good concerned more about how busy he was. Did not bother to ask regular drink just if we wanted bar drinks. Secondly he didn’t pay attention to my husband and should have corrected him on the vegetables. First trip very one more attention like you were the only one in the room.

    A reservation especially one through Open Table is worthless a this restaurant. They over book. My reservation for 7:30 pm was made more than two weeks in advance. I arrived at 7:15 pm and waiting until 8 pm. Then when I asked about the status, I was told that the main dining room was "blocked off" I assume for a private event. And, my table would be in the bar. I was also told that if I had called the restaurant as opposed to making a reservation on Open Table I would have been told that. So, I am thinking I may not use Open Table in the future. I'd suggest Open Table drop this restaurant from their platform.

    Upon learning we were to be seated in the crowded, noisy bar, we asked to be seated in main dining area. Refused! We wanted a plate of crab claws, snapper Ernest, salad, bananas Foster, Irish coffee, romantic, quiet evening with atmosphere. We never saw a menu but told only of some sort of special. That was to be enough for two seniors. Got 3 crab claws, tiny salad and tough steak. Bread pudding looked like chocolate ice cream. Drinks were good. Hard to screw up wine! I was entertaining a guest from out of state. Sorely disappointed and embarrassed. 2 John’s next time for sure!!

    I understand ambience however it was a little too dark for me. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to ensure my steak was cooked to my liking. The lemon drop martini was excellent
