About Erminia Ristorante
Erminia, opened in 1982, is New York City’s most romantic restaurant. Obtaining some of the Zagat Survey’s most highly rated scores for food, service and décor each year, the Roman influenced Italian food is second to none on the Upper East Side. Erminia Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
The place is tiny but very pretty. You are greeted nicely, but the staff seems in a hurry to remove plates even though the place was only a quarter filled. Also, there was not enough space between the appetizer and the main dish. I felt rushed. My main dish was delicious and a good-sized portion. The appetizer was quite small. I do not seem why they need to charge $52 for their least expensive wine when the same bottle can be bought for around $15. I would go back if their wine prices were more reasonable.
As good as it gets - excellent food; friendly, attentive and unpretentious service.
Ambiance feels cozy and homey - similar to restaurants I’ve dined in in Italy. After one visit, it’s become one of my favorite restaurants in NY. I look forward to going back.
Love Erminia!! We spent NYE 2018 at Erminia and it was an all-around fantastic experience. The menu was delicious - there were four of us and we had the tuna tartare and scallops to start, then we had the veal ravioli and gnocchi, and for our entrees we had the filet mignon , veal scallopini, and Dover sole - Evertyhing Was Delicious!! Service was super-friendly, attentive and we’ve always loved the cozy, quaint Erminia atmosphere. We went to Erminia for the first in time in 1990 after getting engaged and have been going back for the reliable, consistent and all-around great experience. Thanks Erminia!!
I had always wanted to go to Erminia's. I decided it was finally time, so I chose to go here for a pre-Christmas dinner with some friends. It turns out they had also always wanted to go here but never had. The dinner was fabulous and we will definitely be back.
We shared dishes and everything was phenomenal from the bucatini, veal scallopini, to the desserts. Enjoyed every bite with great service that never interrupted our conversation. Italian food as it should be, bringing us back to Italy once again. Highly recommended!
Erminia is a tiny Italian restaurant with great food and great service. The space is really small, only about 15 tables. The lighting is very dim and each table has a candle. The food was delicious and the service was attentive but not overbearing. We had the meatball appetizer and baked clam appetizer. Both were delicious, but especially the meatball. For entrees we had the truffle gnochi and short rib pasta special. Delicious. I would recommend this place for a romantic date or nice night with a friend.
Absolutely delicious! The entire staff was so friendly & everything from the Prosecco to the food was delicious! We celebrated my husbsnd’s birthday there & it was so cozy & romantic! Dining by candlelight was so nice. You won’t be sorry you came to eat here!
My husband and I went to Erminia for a Christmas celebration dinner, rather than exchanging gifts this year. We were seeking a romantic setting with excellent food and friendly servers. We got so much more than we bargained for with Erminia! From our candlelit table in this small cozy authentic Italian restaurant, to the warm greeting from all staff, the helpful suggestions, the personalized service...and not to mention the mouth-watering meal we had. We will certainly be back again, and again!
This restaurant is the definition of a hidden gem on the upper east side! The occasion was my boyfriend’s birthday and we couldn’t have asked for a better night. The food and wine were great and the service was spot on giving you private time and ample time in between courses.
The service was attentive right from the start. Our server was honest and gave great suggestions - he even suggested a lower cost item because he said it was his favorite - and it did not disappoint. I had a delicious pasta dish with pancetta and my husband had an amazing steak. Even his potatoes were impressively seasoned and delicious. It was our anniversary, and I thought it was a great spot for a romantic, authentic Italian meal. The tiramisu (which I have had elsewhere a million times) was the best I've ever had. They make all desserts in-house and it was a very impressive one. We would definitely go back!
