Erminia Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was romantic and the perfect setting for a valentines date with my girlfriend. The staff was welcoming and personable, and we felt very valued. The food was delicious - both of our meals (veal and chicken) were great and I would also highly recommend the octopus appetizer and crème brûlée for dessert! Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and the restaurant itself was brilliantly decorated. Loved it, highly recommend!
Always wanted to eat here and about a month ago we did, and it was delightful. We brought our daughter and her friend back about a week ago, and it was a different experience.
The lasagna was overcooked and salty. The clams oreganata were filled with breading and salty. They brought my wife the wrong dish and when they finally brought out her bolognese, it was over salted, nothing like the first time we had it here. Everybody was done with their main course by the time hers arrived. They didn't so much as offer to take the item off the bill for the inconvenience or offer desserts or after dinner drinks for the table.
You would have thought the host was an amateur, though we know he has been here for years.
To top it off they started shutting off the interior lights while we were still exiting the dining room.
Just a warning Erminia has good nights and some very bad nights...
We were in town for one night only and decided to check out this tiny Upper East restaurant. Food was quite good, but service was slow and restaurant is super cramped. Only one tiny bathroom which could have been on an airplane.
Predictable and uninteresting. A cliche of what used to be considered Italian food. The salad and burrata were quite good, everything else, from the glass of red wine to the pasta, was not up to par. I don't like to give a bad review, but this was a disappointment.
The place is tiny but very pretty. You are greeted nicely, but the staff seems in a hurry to remove plates even though the place was only a quarter filled. Also, there was not enough space between the appetizer and the main dish. I felt rushed. My main dish was delicious and a good-sized portion. The appetizer was quite small. I do not seem why they need to charge $52 for their least expensive wine when the same bottle can be bought for around $15. I would go back if their wine prices were more reasonable.
As good as it gets - excellent food; friendly, attentive and unpretentious service.
Ambiance feels cozy and homey - similar to restaurants I’ve dined in in Italy. After one visit, it’s become one of my favorite restaurants in NY. I look forward to going back.
Love Erminia!! We spent NYE 2018 at Erminia and it was an all-around fantastic experience. The menu was delicious - there were four of us and we had the tuna tartare and scallops to start, then we had the veal ravioli and gnocchi, and for our entrees we had the filet mignon , veal scallopini, and Dover sole - Evertyhing Was Delicious!! Service was super-friendly, attentive and we’ve always loved the cozy, quaint Erminia atmosphere. We went to Erminia for the first in time in 1990 after getting engaged and have been going back for the reliable, consistent and all-around great experience. Thanks Erminia!!
I had always wanted to go to Erminia's. I decided it was finally time, so I chose to go here for a pre-Christmas dinner with some friends. It turns out they had also always wanted to go here but never had. The dinner was fabulous and we will definitely be back.
We shared dishes and everything was phenomenal from the bucatini, veal scallopini, to the desserts. Enjoyed every bite with great service that never interrupted our conversation. Italian food as it should be, bringing us back to Italy once again. Highly recommended!
Erminia is a tiny Italian restaurant with great food and great service. The space is really small, only about 15 tables. The lighting is very dim and each table has a candle. The food was delicious and the service was attentive but not overbearing. We had the meatball appetizer and baked clam appetizer. Both were delicious, but especially the meatball. For entrees we had the truffle gnochi and short rib pasta special. Delicious. I would recommend this place for a romantic date or nice night with a friend.
Absolutely delicious! The entire staff was so friendly & everything from the Prosecco to the food was delicious! We celebrated my husbsnd’s birthday there & it was so cozy & romantic! Dining by candlelight was so nice. You won’t be sorry you came to eat here!
