The menu offers a variety of crave-able Contemporary American cuisine that encompasses both coursed meals and smaller plates to share at a range of price points. Executive Chef John Freezee and Sous Chef William Hughes imaginatively utilize seasonal ingredients to present the finest in regional cuisine.
The service and food was excellent. My only negative comment would be the noise level. Conversations were a little challenging unless you’re seated next to the person. We were seated in the first area. It was much quieter in the bar area. Our waitress was spot on with service and knowledge of the menu.
Server was rude and pork chop was raw - server didn’t even seem to care . Or come up with a solution to accommodate the raw meat two of had just eaten
Vegetable wrap not as described (more like pickles). Sent back for a replacement which I would expect should have been comped as half of the table was done eating by the time my food came. Very loud.
Just very load, hard to talk amongst ourselves, party of 6
I have eaten twice at Erie Grill. Both times I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and so did my guests. I highly recommend the rack of venison. The atmosphere is very relaxing, and has a good view of the Erie Canal. I highly recommend the Erie Grill.
Server was a but short sometimes. Noise by the time we left was deafening. Hard to want to come back for dinner and we were seated way away from the bar.
Food very good, great ambiance and very good service.
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. Great food, drinks and atmosphere
Great food, great atmosphere, we really enjoyed our date night there!
Good food, great view. Costs a couple extra bucks, but it's worth it for the experience.
Overall the entire experience was top notch. The only thing I found off was the noise level - maybe too many hard surfaces.....this will not stop me from coming back!
A perfect place to meet friends or have a date night! Food is excellent; atmosphere is cheery and beautiful! The service was outstanding! Tuesday nights are $ 5.00 wine and 1/2 price bottles so the energy is high in the bar area. We love it and will go again. Their breakfast and lunches are also fantastic! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Erie Grill is one of my favorite restaurants--excellent food and a wonderful wine selection. Of course, being located next to the Erie Canal gives it a lovely view, but the atmosphere inside is restful and elegant. While we were there, we made our reservations for Easter!
We had a great time at Erie Grill. The food was wonderful and our waitress superb. We would highly recommend Erie Grill and look forward to going there again soon.
Great meal (scallops - 4 huge ones) and excellent service. Will definitely be returning.
Excellent waiter! Sat on the banquette near the kitchen.
Our waitress was great. This is our favorite restaurant in Rochester! We love the canal view too.
Food was not worth the price. My friend ordered Sea Bass for $33 and chef refused to leave onions out of her dish stating it was pre made.
The cocktails were unique and tasty and the food was outstanding! The service provided by Kathy was top notch!! Ask for her!
Great food service was excellent very friendly will return again
Our party of 4 dined on Saturday 23 February. We all ate different entrees and they were all excellent - salmon, swordfish, steak and lamb were all beautifully prepared. The special starter - a spicy soup - was great, as was the goat cheese. Our server, Maria, was professional, helpful and friendly. Our friends, who had eaten dinner at Erie Grill, declared that it was their new favorite restaurant. The only negative was the noise level, but that did not take away from the overall experience.
The service was excellent. The noise level was very high. The food was only fair and everything tasted way too salty. The spanish octopus was too tough. The chocolate tort was fabulous.
I love Happy Hour at Erie Grill and the regular bartender--she is always attentive and very thoughtful. My daughter remarked how many special occasions we have celebrated there! I have only had dinner there twice--the first time was our anniversary and it was nice, the food and service very good. This time, despite a reservation, we were given a table by the service area and our server seemed unenthused. I normally do not order chicken out much, but wanted to give the panko chicken a try. It was dry and did not come with any kind of sauce to overcome that! It was a generous portion, but I ate one half and brought the rest home to my hubby (he thought it was just okay). The salad that came with it was large, but not that tasty either! My daughter loved her burger and the fries were great. The wine deal on Tuesdays is great and I had a nice glass of Gewürztraminer for $5. I love the Del Monte but will stick with Happy Hour and the Spa.
We love brunch at the Erie Grill--high-quality food, prepared simply. Among our favorites are the asparagus and mushroom omelet, roast potatoes, and fresh fruit. And a $6 bloody mary ain't bad.
We had a wonderful meal. I ordered the lamb and substituted the Gouda sweet potato grits for the roasted potatoes. Fabulous decision. The lamb was cooked to perfection, and the grits were the best I have ever eaten. My husband likewise raved about the short rib. Kathy our waitress was attentive and friendly. Given it was Valentine’s Day and busy, she did get back to us regularly to check if the dinner was going well. We have been to Erie Grill a number of times; this was the best experience we have ever had, and we will be coming back!
Great drinks by AJ! Food was excellent as well!! Love your restaurant!! Xo
We enjoy the Erie Grill for its beautiful location and it’s scenery. The food is delicious but inconsistent; but that day my lunch was delicious. Nice!
Great food. Great service. Drinks were made well. Great ambiance.
This was my first visit. The service and food were wonderful. Great atmosphere. I will definitely return.
Great service and the food was very good for lunch. The apple desert was a disappointment. The apples were still hard and served in puff pastry. Not my favorite.
Seated promptly, food was delicious, service was excellent.
Great location along the Barge Canal in Pittsford. Food is good and they offer a number of harder to find items. Halibut is hard to find, but they do carry it and our party liked it. Their meat loaf is crisp on top and moist in the center. Vegetables are seasoned and enjoyable. They offer signature cocktails. When the bar area is crowded the noise level can be high. The dining area is an extension of the bar. The setting is nice and parking is adequate.
We frequent Erie Grill and we’ve never had a bad meal there. Last night my husband ordered the pork chop and mashed potatoes, and the pork was over cooked. I had the filet mignon and it was cooked to my liking but extremely salty.
I wish they had more chicken dishes on their menu. Very limited in the chicken options.
The food and service was excellent. Our server (Maria) was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive
I prefer a restaurant with different seafood choices and the Erie grill didn’t disappoint. The walleye special was outstanding
The bar area is located close to the dining area and makes it a little loud which is the only negative
Overall it was a very good experience.
The Erie Grill is one of our favorite restaurants in the Rochester area. The featured cocktails are creative and tasty. We also shared a half bottle of wine from the nice wine list. The menu allows you to experience a number of different offerings without over-eating or having tons of leftovers. The small plate menu has some delicious offerings you won’t find other places. The duck meatballs are one of our favorites. We also had the mussels cooked in Pernod and the Spanish octopus. Both were delicious and not a standard preparation. We shared the braised rabbit with fettuccine entree and enjoyed every bite. We came home totally satisfied and look forward to our next visit.
Menu was fresh and exciting and delivered! Great attention to detail and delicious. We enjoyed the duck meatballs (spectacular and very tasty/perfectly seasoned), the rabbit dish topped by a deck egg yolk (unctuous and so satisfying) and the dry aged ribeye special. You really can’t go wrong at the Eerie Grill!
We dined on New Year’s Eve. It was the quiet yet lovely experience we were hoping for this year. Our server was particularly attentive and the evening was perfect.
Food mediocre and we go alot
Bar none this experience with the server was the worst I’ve ever had at this restaurant and have been coming for years and have never experienced such a disinterested server with extremely poor communication and attending to restaurant guests. I asked for the chicken sausages properly cooked but they were sliced in half and Bart but really did not want to bother because the server was so cold and unfriendly and inattentive. My guest felt exactly the same but did not want to embarrass your management with this conversation so decided to take online.
Outstanding salmon, halibut and salads. My favorite place for food and atmosphere.
