Nice local restaurant w good food and service. Extensive menu with daily specials. Public parking is an issue as closet garages are over 2 blocks away, but they offer complimentary parking.

Classic Chicago steakhouse with Italian specialties too. Baked clams starter is delicious. Steaks ans chops are high quality and cooked perfectly as ordered. All the entrees come with an iceberg lettuce salad (you should upgrade to Caesar) and cottage fries. Other sides are ala carte and creamed spinach stands out. Tiramisu is good and feeds four people. Very good pour on the cocktails. Service is old school professional and attentive. The dining room can get pretty loud. If you need it more quiet, ask for the front room. It's a hefty dinner bill, but worth it.

I have known of the Erie Street Cafe for years and finally made it there for a family dinner. All of our out of town guests were very impressed with the homey atmosphere and service. Kudos to Baz and Jose. The restaurant was filling quickly, yet we could converse easily. The table ordered a great variety from the Menu and all were happy with their selection. The lamb chops were a bit fatty but great flavor and large serving. Steaks and Chops were very good. We will return again and will recommend this place to friends.

Always a pleasure...one of the last real Chicago places along with Gene &Georgetti’s...great food, knowledgeable service and a place to talk/drink without having ESPN in your face

We live in the neighborhood and this is one of our favorites. Steaks are fabulous and fish and pasta dishes very good too.

Second time there. I really WANT to love it but find the food pricey and just adverage. I had spaghetti, was just ok and $21.
I live so close but sadly would not rush back.

Used to come to Erie Cafe frequently but hadn't been there in years. Still a great restaurant. Good service, good food, nice old school steakhouse atmosphere!

While the patio is wonderful for warmer weather, the restaurant itself is a bit drab and during the winter (especially in Chicago) the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The pasta was good (very solid cheese ravioli), but the filet was mediocre at best. When you compare it to other steaks you get for the price in Chicago, there are probably 30-40 other restaurants I would choose before dining here.

I ate here once before with a client. Really enjoyed the food. Had to come back for a quick bite with my girlfriend. I’m a classic filet, potato’s, and vegetable kind of person. The steaks are thick, so don’t be upset if you have to send it back to cook a little more. My lady had the ravioli with vodka sauce. Definitely get the key lime pie. Carlos is the man, you’ll be taken care of if you have the pleasure to get him as a server. Both times I’ve had him and both times I’ve felt very welcomed. Thanks Erie Cafe for dinner.

Great neighborhood steakhouse ambiance. Love the bar. Service could not have been better. Salad and vegetable good but steak on the bland side - needed more seasoning and flavor. Will try again and order some of the Italian items next time.

Steaks, as usual, are among the best in the city, if not the best. Skip the big name spots and enjoy this neighborhood gem. Been here at least 50 times, will come back.

The good - cool ambience , clean , old school Chicago steak house in a really neat off the beaten path location . 14 oz filet was not scrimped on .
Bad - makers and coke was wrong twice
And steak was cooked to medium for medium rare and Very dry ( disappointing for a $50 steak

Great steaks and drinks. They moved our party to a private room without us asking and the service was great. We will be back and I recommend to anyone looking for an old school quiet steakhouse!

They had a private event and we could not be seated. It would have been okay if they would have called to inform us BEFORE we arrived. It is a great restaurant. Unfortunately we did not get to celebrate my dad's bday there.
