Food was good, as we as the service.
My group was particularly impressed because a group of 25 came in without a reservation so the restaurant was very busy. Another member of the staff, in this case I believe it was the manager, stepped up to help out with making sure we were still seen to despite the chaos, it was appreciated.
Excellent and friendly service! Will definitely be back
Great service (thanks Brandi!!). Maybe this bistro can add some signage either outside the entrances or just inside for those of us who’ve never visited the museum before. I now know where it is and I’ll be back
We had a fantastic family brunch in a beautiful setting. It is a wonderful restaurant in the most beautiful building and right in the heart of the Forks and the city.
Nice spot in a beautiful building. An eclectic menu with lots of vegan and vegetarian choices. Very interesting combinations, nice selection of appetizers, good salad choices. There a number of daily specials to choose from. Very limited wines by the glass, standard cocktails. A bit pricey but not bad value for the money.
We as usual love the food and Brandi provided us with amazing service.
Really nice meal, and better than what you generally expect at a museum restaurant!
A very comfortable setting for an enjoyable lunch meeting. The server Evelyn made us feel very welcome.
Great friendly service and the food, was very tasty. Desserts were creative.
Food and service were excellent. Food was served very quickly.
the food was delicious, perfect for my business meeting. Even the price was affordable and we were able to have lunch and dessert in a short amount of time.
Excellent local sourced ingredients, fantastic service, and a lovely airy open ambiance in the beautiful Canadian Museum For Human Rights. Can stop at the gift shop afterwards and or go to the museum exhibits. You don't have to pay to go into the museum to eat at Era or go to the gift shop. Museum is free on the first Wednesday of the month and that is the only night that Era is open for dinner in the evenings.
Delicious variety of food!! Felt 5 star for sure for a much better price tag!!
Ordered a dish that included a food item not listed on the menu that I should not be eating. It made up a large part of the dish but I ate everything that I'm allowed - which was very good. Mentioned my restriction to the waitress - she immediately offered me another dish or a comp dessert which I declined. She spoke to the manager and they compt my meal. My spouse ordered the daily pasta special and loved it! Next time I go back I'll have to ask more questions regarding my food limitations. The staff is very friendly and service was good.
We were two at lunch and as it was a quiet day at ERA had no trouble reserving one of the few tables for two by a window. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Several gluten-free options on the main menu and dessert menu. The ambience is nice but is an odd juxtaposition of upscale decor with almost cafeteria-style long-table seating (10 per side), as if it can't decide if it wants to be a bustling cafeteria or an upscale quiet place. Anyway, it was quiet at lunch on a Tuesday and allowed for easy conversation and an enjoyable meal (great salad selections).
Sorry to say that due to many missteps from giving mis-matched language menus to incorrect beverage orders to burnt bacon on our salads this was not a great visit. To top it off most parking now close to the area is not free anymore so that will definitely have an impact to future visits to the Forks in general. Over-all we found it high priced and totally won't be back.
I've been to ERA Bistro several times with family, friends or colleagues. We have always enjoyed the food, had great service and pleased with the prices. We'll keep coming back! :)
Excellent special of scotch egg, trout main course, and cheesecake. A superb and very knowledgable waitress also. It was quiet and very enjoyable for an anniversary dinner
Visually stunning. Service was attentive and friendly. I was disappointed with the limited menu for an evening meal.
As always.........great food, and great service! Carrot fries you ask?!?!?!? Seriously.......eat these and you will never go back to potatoes again!!!
Atmosphere was great. Food was good but not great.
A very pleasant restaurant. Great service, excellent table, wonderful location, highly enjoyable patio in warmer weather. A somewhat restrictive menu for light lunches. Extraordinarily noisy.
We love the museum and will return to ERA.
I enjoyed our luncheon at Era, probably more than the first time I went. The waitress was friendly and accommodating. The food was very good. The carrot sticks are phenomenal!
We shared a small rich dessert, but it was the perfect size because we just wanted a small bite to share.
Excellent service. Sunday brunch can be busy in Winnipeg but the ability to reserve a table ahead of time really influenced our decision to choose ERA. Delicious brunch options and great ambiance.
Good food, nice place to eat
Nice ambiance. Server was very friendly. Food was average. Pork shank was quite good, but the frittata was very dry, overcooked and bland. The bourbon and ginger cocktail was very refreshing, definitely would order that again.
One of the 5 meals ordered by our group was not great, but otherwise it was very good food. The restaurant was a little noisy for the business type discussion at our table.
We made reservations on open table for 7:15 on a Wednesday night. Got to the restaurant and sat down and server tells us kitchen closes at 7:30 so we need to place our orders soon. Then tells us restaurant closes at 8:00. I have 2 small children and rarely go out. Was extremely disappointed that I felt rushed the entire meal. Beets in beet salad were not cooked enough and didn't taste good. Carrot fries were good. Cocktails were average as was chicken sandwich that we shared. Went to Smith for dessert. Won't be returning to era anytime soon. Disappointed open table and era allowed us to make reservations so late. If I wanted only 45 minutes at a restaurant, I would've eaten elsewhere.
Nice place to take a break during a visit to the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, for a snack or meal.
Service was very good. Food was tasty but not hot enough, especially the soup. It would be a great place to entertain friends and family from out of town when visiting the Museum.
I've been here on a few different occasions, and each time the food is decent for the prices. It's not outstanding, but it's enjoyable. Service has been decent, but not outstanding. Overall this place is "good". But I will most likely come back because it's reasonably priced, great setting, and can usually get a table.
I highly recommend the Chocolate Epiphany dessert. It pairs nicely with a hot cup of herbal tea on a cool evening. Service was excellent! I'll definitely return.
Loved their Eggs Benedict, I'd have them again. Tea in china pots as well.
Food was good, but service very slow. The restaurant is very noisy.
This was my first time and it was a very nice atmosphere. The menu had a nice selection and the idea of flavor profiles were good but could use better execution. Eggs Benny was tasty but was a bit cold, Saskatoon cream cheese crepe sounds delicious but was very disappointing. Crepe was a dry mouthful of cream cheese mix and the syrup was way to thin and the whole thing just didn't flow together at all
We go there because it is convenient if we are visiting the museum. We eat there quite often. Service is friendly and efficient. Reservations are easy to make.
Food was good. Some interesting menu items. Carrot fries were good!
Nice restaurant to go too. Parking a bit of a problem.
I enjoyed my experience at Era Bistro. The food was very good. I ordered the special because it sounded appealing to me and I really did like every course. The venue was a little cool even though I brought a sweater as I always do in A/C season. The noise level was minimal so I could talk to my friends and we could hear one another which is another plus when choosing a restaurant. They also enjoyed dining at Era and since I was responsible for the reservation, I was happy. Thank you for a satisfying dining experience.
we had a fantastic supper here with pickled pumpkin salad, pickerel po'boy sandwiches, and key lime tart. each and every bite was amazing. our server was fantastic (friendly and visited our table just the right amount of times. and being in our fabulous museum here in winnipeg just makes it even better.
