Equus and Jack's Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Service was poor. My husband ordered two appetizers as his dinner. Simple. I ordered a fish sandwich. I finished my sandwich and vegetable twenty minutes before my husband's food arrived. There is no excuse especially when there were only five or six tables seated. People who arrived long after us received their orders before we did.
The atmosphere was quaint... Our reservations had us seated by the kitchen/servers entrance (high traffic area) and the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived, only two other couples were seated during our stay... this made no sense, but they honored our request to move to a corner seat. Just not impressed... the price point versus value and quality did not equate... My expectations had me exceeding a chain restaurant experience (which we avoid at all cost here in Louisville because we are such a foodie city and are really blessed with many shining stars) by leaps and bounds. It did not... Maybe I am just getting cheap as I grow wise but no "Wow" factor here... My wife and I almost laughed out loud when our $9 salad wedge was served but then disbelief set in... I am sorry... the food was good but only if at an average price... $24 Fried chicken (breast) should of been "Local and free range" and half the chicken. I will not subject myself to this again...This experience has only made me that much more wiser, I just wish that wisdom had not come with such a cost.
Food was not very good Mushroom soup was lightly flavored and chicken stock. They had a tatar Tot special that I would have been ashamed to serve leftover Mash Potatoes made into tot horrible. The cod looked like postage stamp smaller than bun it was served on. Cod did have good flavor
Will not teturn
This was a very disappointing experience. First, we were seated at a tiny, cold table smack next to several others so there was no privacy, elbow room or warmth on a bitterly cold evening. We waited a long time before finally being greeted by a server. Nothing on the actual menu was the same as what was shown online. We ordered wine and appetizers. 20 minutes later, some very small portioned apps arrived, but still no drinks or plates for the appetizers. We decided to leave and go to an actual steakhouse and had a wonderful meal and excellent service at nearby DelFriscos.
There were numerous empty tables but we were seated in the middle of the room where waiters and guests bumped us constantly. Very uncomfortable and disruptive! There were no chicken wings and the “fried chicken” I ordered consisted of one piece of chicken for a hefty price of $24.00. Very disappointing!!! This was a birthday event with best friends and was truly a disappointment
Group of 8 met in Louisville for dinner. As usual the food was very good. Was a little disappointed in the level of service as it was not on par with what you normally get at Jack's. Server went MIA for several periods of time and never quite got the drink refills we had ordered. Restaurant was not overly busy, but there was a private party in the back which I think threw the kitchen off. Took a long time to get our order. Recommend the fried chicken or the burger.
I ordered the rigatoni and it wasn't good. My husband had the zuchinni and brie soup and shrimp and grits and they were very good. Our server was polite but needed a little more training. Dean Corbett was out in the dining area on three different occasions, but only conversed with ones he knew. It would have been nice if he had acknowledged others in the dining area.
Perfect for dinner out and a special occasion. The service was friendly and the company of the other diners was comfortable. The food was excellent. The menus, while eclectic, was limited. The only real complaint was our seating. We were two women dining between shopping and theater and not regulars. We were seated near wait station and the restroom. There was other available the entire time we were there. We have this experience often. (We chose not to say anything this time, but it is disappointing.)
Took us over an hour to get our food. Server was great, but the amount of time it took to get drinks and food was ridiculous. You’d think this was a new restaurant opening, and not a seasoned restaurantuer running the place.
My steak was tough as nails. I won’t be going back any time soon.
Everything was decent except for the service. We were the first one in the restaurant that evening but were the last ones who were in the restaurant at the time to get served. The explanation given was that our order somehow got shuffled to the end of the line. We had reservations to the theatre. This caused us to quickly try to eat and not really enjoy the food. And we got to the theatre late....:(
Fine. If you have time.
Took more than one hour at table before even being given opportunity to order dinner. Then another hour to get food. As an added bonus appetizers were delivered by a gentleman who couldn't have been crankier.
Really disappointing service. Waiter tried and was a good guy but very understaffed.
