Great cozy place to meet friends at the bar or at dinner. Old Inn building is charming.

Excellence at its best! Great choice in menu. The wait staff was exceptional. I would definitely recommend to all my family and friends. Easy access and plenty of parking. Would definitely come back in the future.

It was our first visit to Epoch. Excellent service, food was also very good. Unfortunately, the table set-up was less than ideal. We sat in the middle table, which was flanked (very, very closely) by two others. That left us feeling like we were a party of 6, rather than a party of 2. Felt awkward at times. Not relaxing or romantic.
If we return, will request a different table.

We were disappointed with the Christmas menu. It really was not any traditional food or dessert, but the service was exceptional.

I expected much more for Christmas Eve. Poorly decorated. Looked like a grammar school with a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. The food was average at best, the portions small and service was slow, even though there seemed to be enough staff. My guess is it was poorly managed. I saw servers going all over the place, back and forth, but seldom if ever saw our server. There were some large parties and perhaps she had one of those groups. In that case, she shouldn't also have had a table for 2 tucked in the corner. We ordered coffee, not desert and waited at least 10-15 minutes for it. I most likely will not be returning.

The Christmas Eve menu was such a disappointment. We made our reservation weeks ago, and had anticipated a festive menu, with perhaps rack of lamb, lobster tails, filet mignon. something! Instead, selections like chicken thighs and braised lamb were offered. Really? We ended up with choices from the regular menu, a "voodoo stew"which was decent, but more spicy than expected, salmon, and hake. It was okay. Just okay. Our waitress was very kind, but overworked, and we went without dessert and coffee, as she was just so busy. The desserts were spice cake, and something else I've forgotten. Nothing appealed. How hard would a buche de Noel be? Sorry to say, we're pretty much over the Inn for Christmas Eve.

We made a 5pm reservation for the Thanksgiving buffet. There was plenty of turkey and sirloin available, but many of the other dishes (fish, vegetables) were either all used up or cold. We paid the same for the 5pm sitting as those who came earlier and should be presented with the same choice and quality. The chef did offer to cook a separate piece of salmon for me, but when it arrived it was almost raw in a watery sauce. The desserts looked amateurish and did not taste good. We were disappointed and felt it was not good value for money.

Buffet was not worth it, they should just serve a limited menu. All the food was lukewarm or cold and turkey was dry and the beef grizzly. I tried 3 oysters and one was bad.

Clam chowder and smoked salmon were nice, but there was no condiment for the salmon.

We were originally seated near the kitchen and were walked by many empty tables and two booths to get there. We changed our table to one of the booths.

Once seated, We were not recognized by any staff until we flagged a manager. Once we had our assigned waitress, the balance of the service was excellent.

I hope they make some serious changes to return to the quality meals they once provided, by professional staff.

It’s very sad what’s happened here.

I made a late dinner reservation for 6 members of our family gathering. I had been to the Inn prior for dinner and was excited over the dinner buffet menu. We arrived and no one from the hostess, to the dining room manager, to the wait staff knew which end was up. It was chaos. I LOVED the dining room but sadly was not seated in it, instead I was ushered to a small room that was overcrowded, way to hot and no air circulating. It felt like a tomb that was brightly lit and filled with every holiday fragrance that Macy's perfume counter had to offer last week. I asked politely to be sat elsewhere to which the waitress said simply "No" I asked for a manager and we were escorted to a table in a banquet room. The food was delicious, cold but good. The desert came straight off of a Sodexo frozen food truck. When I asked what the flambe station was the two young attendants said fresh apples and then did nothing to prepare it. I walked away empty handed. Skip this next year. I would not recommend it. I was disappointed with the ambience, the food, and the staff. Three strikes and you are out in my book.

We had to ask for dinner forks, there were none at our table. The dark meat turkey was very dry and not served in nicely cut pieces. The tarts were disappointing. Full slice of pie would have been better. Much of the food was good however several trays were empty and we have to wait. The buffet did not seem to be attended too well.

The food was sub-par at best. We both tried the fried green tomatoes as a starter and it literally had as much flavor as cardboard. Even the aïoli it was served with did nothing to bring out any flavor. We both ordered the short ribs which has always been a favorite meal of ours- and they served it on top of a pasta & chili (Away we’ve never seen it prepared before) and it was so spicy that after one bite our mouths were literally on fire and we had to send it back. They also serve wine by a “sip” which on the menu stayed is 187mls- but our server insisted that was the equivalent of 3 ounces when it’s actually a little over 6 ounces. Our meal cost $150 and it was incredibly disappointing. This was our first visit to Epoch- and it will be our last. At those prices we can’t afford to give it a second chance.

Epoch is decent but not exciting. The service we received was OK but not particularly attentive. I like it better for brunch than for dinner.

The restaurant is wheelchair accessible through the rear of the Exeter Inn. The restrooms are up half a flight of stairs. An enclosed lift is available.

Menu a bit precious but also interesting.
Starters overpriced compared to entrees. Seems to be a trend.
Light seasoning touch on all we tried.
Overall, an ok experience.
Ambiance zilch. Go for food only.
Service not overly familiar which is appreciated. And she was knowledgeable.

They were busy with some events, so staff was over -burdened. Service was slow and required a few reminders. However, when a mistake was made the made it right, and then some.
The steak frites were excellent, perfectly cooked to Med-rare adn a nice chimmichurri sauce. French fries were excellent, crispy and thick with the natural skins.
Salad was large, but just lettuce varieties, no other vegys.
Chicken gumbo tasted a bit smoky - burned, and not the spice level I would expect.
The Voodoo stew was nice, although the scallops and shrimp were a bit over firm. Flavor was good, could have been a little heavier on the saffron and pernod.
Lemon square was delicious, but candied rosemary garnish was not really candied and bland

We were staying one night at the Exeter Inn, so figured we might as well dine at Epoch. We shared both the charcuterie and the cheese board, along with a bottle of wine. Everything was quite good, and we had been given a certificate for 20% off food when we checked into the hotel. Very nice spot.

I’ve been here a handful of times however today was the last. After being ignored by servers for 17 minutes my friend and I left and told the hostess we waited long enough and no one had come by. The a woman identified herself as the manager and said she had just seen us waiting and was trying to figure out who our server was.
Her demeanor was accusatory and rude and she demanded we sit back down for services. The experience was shocking and neither of us plan to return in the future.
I’ve worked in the food industry for years. Whether they were rotating the restaurant or had sections there’s no excuse for one of those servers to have not greeted us.
The fact that the manager followed us to argue was embarrassing.

This brunch was touted as one of the best in NH, however it was honestly nothing better than an average hotel breakfast. The buffet hardware was ancient, and there was a minimal selection. The service was slow and spotty. It is most definitely not a handicapped friendly location.

The food was good, the mimosas were great! There seemed to be only 1 person hosting, serving, and clearing tables. Despite the fact that it took him a while to get to our table to take our food order, he had us seated with drinks lickity split! Can’t say I blame him. Definitely under staffed.

When we sat down, we didn’t see our waitress for 10 minutes. When she did come over she took our drink order and then took another 10 minutes to bring our drinks. After she took our order it took 30 minutes to get our appetizer. During that time she only visited our table once, apologized for the time and offered to get my wife another drink (she made it sound like it would be complimentary but we were charged for it). The appetizer was a small plate which was understandable as it was a more formal restaurant but it was three chicken croquettes. I think 4 would be better because at least you can split those better. 15 minutes later our entrees came out and my entree was very spicy yet not labeled as spicy on the menu. My wife’s entrees came out under cooked. Unfortunately because our waitress wasn’t very attentive we couldn’t send it back. Never mind that she never offered to refill our waters or keep getting us more drinks. At the end they at least did not charge for one of the entrees. Overall we were not impressed and will not be returning.

My in-laws were in town to visit and Sunday was their last day in town so we wanted to have a nice brunch. Epoch has good recommendations so we decided to try it. A reservation was not necessary, we showed up on time and waited at least 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. Then the party in front of us was seated and served their drinks all the while we still were standing there wondering if anyone noticed us. What appeared to be the hostess finally arrived to seat us. I had requested a table by the window when making the reservation but we were unable to attain one not because it was busy, but because all the tables along the windows were covered in dirty dishes. We only saw our waitress when she took our order and then brought us the bill. We never received coffee or water refills and I had to ask another table for sugars. We probably could have all walked out and nobody would have known the difference.

Maybe this was an off day, maybe they were understaffed. But we felt uncomfortable and like we were a burden for being there during our whole experience. I don’t think we will return.

We requested a booth via Open Table but there was no recognition of receiving this request.
We did not get waited on for at least 15 minutes after being seated. Our meal which was brunch took very long to be served; so long we had to ask where it was. When it came out with one wrong meal which had to be redone.
I have never had a chicken caesar salad made with undercooked thigh meat before. It was extremely unappetizing to even look at and could not be eaten.
There was no attempt to take any amount off the bill.
I cannot recommend this restaurant.
