The menu offers a carefully designed range of healthy Italian breakfast and lunch options, but where this restaurant shines is in its dinner, with fresh pasta, incredible flavors and a great cocktail and an Italian wine list. The food is a serious affair here in the casual, approachable darling little restaurant on Mott Street. Great for dates, business lunch, or a late night cocktail and snack.

Breakfast was healthy and was served fast .
Fantastic service, great food. Def a must for every visit to NYC.
Delicious food and great wine in a cozy Italian restaurant.
The food was great. Unfortunately the service was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Extremely inattentive and rude to our table. Took 5 times to ask for drinks. Didn’t even clear our dirty plates before giving us our entrees. Half of the appetizer we ordered never came. I will definitely never be returning.
Excellent meal with family. Good food, good vibe. Recommend.
I went to this restaurant on a Saturday night at 7 PM and it was not crowded. I made the reaervation only 2 days before which was great for NYC standards. I would describe the environment as “shabby chic”. The service and food was amazing, as was the wine list. Only downside is that they have one bathroom so restroom time is a bit of a wait.
Perfect choice for our anniversary dinner! Food and service were amazing!
We absolutely loved this place and it will become a staple in our go-to restaurants for the future. Magnificent pasta served up in a chic, bohemian setting. Felt so relaxed and welcoming.
Nice place overall. We were a group of 4 for lunch . the setting itself is pretty but the portions are very small for the price . most of the food was good and Would probably sit here again but just for coffee or a small bite.
The food was wonderful, it looked great and tasted super. But we were not able to hear what the other said since it was extremely noisy. Which was too bad since we were celebrating our anniversary. And no, we are not old people 😎
So food and waitresses +++ but ambiance -/+
Fantastic restaurant! Honestly the best Italian cuisine I've had outside of Italy. Owner is also really nice and our waitress Delia was very attentive and made tailored recommendations.
An amazing experience, the food was on point and perfectly portioned..... Thanks for an awesome experience.
A perfect nook away from the noise of Nolita. Quaint, fresh, friendly- just some of the words that describe the amazing atmosphere at Epistrophy. Come on a date, to catch up with friends, or to simply taste quality, homemade pasta- it’s perfect for all occasions!
A classic, often bring friends and family from out of town here
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, outstanding food and cocktails. Will definitely be going back!!
Polenta was outstanding, as were the pancakes and the Bloody Mary!
Food never disappoints . The fave bean tortellini was a great Spring addition and the snap pea salad was so refreshing. Croquettes were overdone and almost looked like falafel balls. Tuna was delish .
Our server was nice enough to offer us a table near the window when it became available . The table we were seated at originally was sticky and a little grungy .
I wish they had more Sardinian wines since it is a Sardinian restaurant and it would be nice to have a Sardinian dessert instead of the standard Italian ones. Would kill for a Seada !
All the staff were great. Carlo stood out as a guy in control of a busy night! Food v good
Best dinner in New York - Nice staff - incredibly delicoius
Absolutely adore this fabulous spot!! From the greeting to the service and the food, all way beyond what was expected!! Cannot wait to go back!! A must for all!!
Food from their breakfast menu was not really that great, but for its price it was okay. Nothing impressive
Family dinner was very good. Traditional Italian. The 4 of us that ordered pasta loved our dishes. My son ordered the steak and potatoes and was underwhelmed. Steak was a little over cooked and potatoes were a little bland. Desserts were very good. Service here is the issue. We were seated at reservation time then sat for almost 10 min with no menus, water or waitress. Once we got the attention of someone the service improved drastically and we had no further issues. Restaurant is very small so how they didn’t notice us was odd. Noise level was getting louder as we finished but was moderate through dinner. Good wine list too.
Really nice small boho style place. There was only one waitress which made it harder to get her attention.
Always my favorite go to! Amazing food, prices, service and atmosphere!
Food was so good. Highly recommend the fresh juice of the day- delish! Natural lighting was aesthetically pleasing too, despite the rainy day we had when we went.
This was my first time at Epistrophy. I met a friend for an early dinner. Both my friend and I were impressed with the food. It was tasty, fresh, and creative. We also enjoyed our wine. The service was awesome . We left when it was getting busier and a little too noisy to talk. Overall, a nice place for an early dinner before the crowds come in.
Delicious and great service! A bit louder inside than anticipated for a mellow dinner.
Our food was phenomenal. Our waitress was surly. All the other workers seemed lovely.
A straightforward, easy dining experience. The food is easily accessible to many different preferences and is good enough. The space is large enough to go with a group and the sidewalk seating is nice for a summertime meal.
I came here with a friend to catch up since we haven’t seen each other in a while. My friend has some food restriction so she chose the place. I thought the place was very cute and we sat outside which was very nice since the weather was great. Our salads were actually very good. I had the snap peas and asparagus salad with pesto. Quite tasty. Our waiter was not friendly at all. He seemed very into himself and acted as if he was bothered when he had to come over to the table. We only saw him when he came to take our order. After that he never came by to check on us or ask if we needed anything, or maybe another drink. I had to flag him down to get some water. If it wasn’t for the service, I would have given this place a better rating. Hopefully the other servers who work there are a lot more customer friendly.
excellent as always ! Tuna steak is a delicious dish!
Cozy little restaurant with nice service & everything was delicious from apps to entree to dessert & coffee.
Items on the menu weren’t available, the wrong food was brought, we were overcharged in our bill and the server insisted we weren’t. This place is insane.
Epistrophy was a great place to gather for a brunch in a great little neighborhood (NOLITA). Nice menu options for food and drinks, fun, cozy atmosphere and friendly attentive waiter. All good:) Will go again.
Terrific night with family. The hosts made us feel very welcome and guided us through food and wine selections.
Love Epistrophy! The staff is so nice, it is reasonably priced and great for big groups!
Posto delizioso tra Soho e Chinatown!! Pranzo con mio marito e i bambini. Piatti squisiti e bellissima presentazione! Proprietario italiano
Carlo and his staff are amazing! We came with a big group of friends and he made everything possible for us. The food is absolutely delicious and of very high quality. The atmosphere is fantastic: super friendly, super Italian and very cosy. We can't wait to be back.
A lovely, neighborhood find. Appetizers and pastas were tasty—the beet salad was enormous and delicious. Well prepared drinks. A little loud when full, but worth it for the food.
