We went on a Saturday afternoon, and were disappointed that only a Brunch menu was available. It severely limited the appetizer and entree options, and regular lunch items that we were looking forward to (ribs and brisket) were not available. The food was fine, but nothing spectacular. Brunch is fine for Sundays, but why not make the lunch menu available on Saturdays?

Great food. Large portions. Friendly service. Beer menu leaves a lot to be desired.

So long as you stick with the burgers (off menu item at dinner) you'll be fine. Stay away from the ribs.

Definitely a meatatarian place. Save room for desert though, the cinnamon apple is amazing. Great dinner ambiance.

Reservation and service were commendable. When food was served, the pulled pork plate I had ordered was cold/lukewarm and I had to send it back to get warmed up. It was reserved hot and it was ok....not great...just ok. Wife had the beef brisket which was warm/hot, but it also was not great, just ok.

Went here for lunch as it was a close spot to the airport and it was easy for guests to head to the airport after eating. Great burger specials on Mondays which I highly recommend! The food was good, the service was fantastic. I recommend trying it out!

Went to Epic for a quick lunch while staying nearby. I had the combo lunch of ribs, brisket, and pulled pork and all three were really good BBQ meats. It was off peak time (1:30PMish) so there weren't many folks in there, but the service I had was great!

Based on my previous experiences, I thought they should remove "Smokehouse" from their name. However, I was told to order the burgers here and they were indeed good, totally different than the ribs. They are only on the lunch menu but if you ask you can have them for dinner like we did. We tried both, the Epic and the Big Kahuna with zero complaints. You can pile them high with toppings, they were cooked properly to order and were delicious!

Upgraded to 3 stars on this visit. Ribs still don't taste good so I just won't order them anymore-- I felt I should give them a 2nd chance. They were delivered just minutes after ordering and when I asked how that could be the waiter said "they are smoked the previous day". Not the way it is done anywhere else I've ever been. In fact, I had some leftovers the next day, microwaved them and they tasted better. Anyway, my sister got the brisket and said it was good (I agreed after sampling it).

The night I dined here I had literally just moved into the neighborhood and needed a place to eat until my stuff was delivered. I should have read some of these other reviews first. The ribs were terrible. The worst I have ever had. While the portion was large, they were very tough, chewy and hard to remove from the bone and eat. My order came out quickly which makes me wonder if they were microwaved or something. I gave 2 stars mainly because Jana (I ate at the bar) provided great service. Might be a good place to grab a drink or a simple/basic type of meal but I wouldn't order anything requiring finesse or skill to prepare.

Restaurant was small, with the tables very close together. This made conversation a little difficult as it was impossible not to overhear others' conversations. Tables were small; the larger tables appeared to be on the bar side, but there was very little room to move on the bar side if there was a crowd there (and there was when I was there).
The food was good but not what I'd call great. The service was very good.

My husband and I came to Epic Smokehouse to celebrate our two year anniversary. It was a great place for intimate/special occasions. The staff/service was excellent. My husband got the brisket and I got the pulled pork. We both agreed that the pulled pork was the best we have ever eaten!! I also think that the brisket was the best I've ever had; I am a huge fan of thick cuts of meat and the brisket was so juicy and tender. My husband enjoyed the brisket, but is more of a thin slice and dry brisket person. We were both beyond satisfied with our meal choices and the scrumptious sides they come with. This was definitely worth every penny and it made our anniversary all the sweeter. I definitely plan on coming back again, maybe for my birthday!

We were underwhelmed by the food yet very happy with the service. The food came a little too fast (suggesting it was not prepared fresh) and the large salad entree I ordered was drenched in about eight times more dressing than needed (and was initially delivered without the portabello mushrooms which were the centerpiece of the salad; to their credit, the very kind and thoughtful server instantly took care of that). The chicken entree my dining partner ordered was "passable" but nothing special.

It may be just us - we learned we're not all that crazy about smoked foods.

The ribs were hard and chewy... not near the quality of food I would expect from a place that cost this much.

Our varied group of 15 were all able to find something to their liking. BBQ is among the best in the DC area IMHO. Service (Ben) was attentive and friendly and cocktails and wines were excellent. Great experience and we will certainly return again.

The service was wonderful. Waiter was very attentive, food was served in a timely manner. Portions were plentiful-- I brought half of my steak home. Since we all had meat dishes, we ordered a red wine that was priced well and paired well with our dinner. The best part was the manager and owner visited our table! Very pleasant, the manager suggested bread pudding for our dessert-- we really liked it especially the sauce, but coming from New Orleans, it's hard for us to eat such foods that Louisiana specializes in. All in all, a very pleasant evening in a pleasant place!

This place continues to kill it and in my opinion is the best restaurant in Arlington. The wine selection is top notch and I enjoyed the most amazing rack of ribs this time. Service is also incredible.. I travel to DC twice and month and this is always a stop for me. Took some customers this time and they agreed with me

The restaurant was amazing! The food and service were outstanding, I just wish I could have tried everything on the menu. Make sure to make a reservation though because I heard the hostess tell a walk-in that it would be a 40 minute wait (but even then it would still be worth it).

It was a last minute get together with some associates. Service to our table was fast and easy . Then menu is easy to choose from . We order our drinks. One of the beers was not available . The manager himself came out and apologize for the inconvenience and offer other beers to choose from that is similar to the beer order. I thought that was very nice . He even took our orders . And for our troubles he gave us a sample of the cornbread . Which was good . The food was tasty, not overdone . I got the brisket and Mac and cheese . It was just enough portion amount and the price was suitable . I would recommend to come here again. Good service , good food, nice ambiance .

Casual and comfortable place to meet for lunch or brunch on a early Saturday afternoon. There were five of us and everyone had nothing but good things to say about their meal. We tried the French onion and Smokehouse chili soups which were very tasty and un-salty, suggesting they might have been home made. My picky 13 year old daughter loved the chicken and waffles. The pulled pork salad in a shell was filling and the pork was extremely tender with a savory little kick to it. Those that ordered some form of pork also expressed pleasure at how succulent and juicy the meat was. Certainly appeared each dish received personal touch, so plates may take a bit longer to arrive at the table, which was quite okay by us as we were in no hurry and were there to catch up on each other's lives. Service was excellent. Will definitely put on list to try again

Really enjoyed the first trip to Epic! When the line cook we were facing described one of the appetizer options as "Meat Candy" how could we say no?! Twice smoked butt ends in their barbecue sauce were fantastic. The bone marrow mushroom ragu was also fantastic.

Big portions, great for sharing. Loved sitting at the bar facing the kitchen. One of the line cooks, KB?, would show us each plate as things were ordered and explain the dishes. It was a really fun spot, we look forward to going back!

Food was good, but a bit pricey. I was able to substitute brisket on the combination plate with a $3 upcharge, but was a bit surprised that it was only one slice of brisket replacing 1/4 chicken.

Had a wonderful dinner here that included Mahi Mahi over risotto and burnt ends. All were delicious! The service was so great and accommodating from first walking in thru out the meal. My friend even read the menu wrong, thinking something else was supposed to come with her meal. The manager came right over and threw in the extra item, just because. Definitely will come back again.

My waitress was great, she was so attentive, my glass of water was never empty. You can tell the waitstaff really work together to get whatever you need asap. As for the food, the calamari was good, I got the grilled chicken salad which was really good, just kind of small for an entree. Skip the Mac n cheese, it was pretty dry and not even cheesy. The bread pudding was sooooo freaking good, definitely get the bread pudding. I'd definitely come back!

My neighbors and I were pleasantly surprised! We've lived next to Epic for almost two years and have never dined there. Well those days are long gone! Our server Matt was awesome and we were seated and served quickly. Our brunch was very reasonable priced and was delicious! We cannot wait to go again on our next lazy Saturday morning.

While participating in restaurant week, my boyfriend and I found this place and it is fabulous! The smell of the smoker as you walk in is enveloping and delicious. Each course for the dinner was fairly heavy, but wonderfully smokey, sweet, and with a mild kick. Portions are very large and easily shared.

I went hear based on reviews and was very glad I did. I love places where when you look from the outside you think you going to get a average experience and then when you walk in to when you leave they blow you away. This place is REALLY REALLY GOOD. Came in, sat at the bar, and ordered off a solid wine list. Had the half smoked chicken with a tequila cream sauce and brussel sprouts. Everything was beyond delicious, service was top notch, a great find for me as I stay in Crystal City a lot, this will be a regular stop.

Hadn't been to Epic in a while and found that they're still putting out great BBQ. Really like their burnt ends and the wine list is excellent and reasonably priced. I took the ribs with brussels sprouts and wife took the pulled pork -- all great, but the sprouts could use more bacon (love bacon).

First let me say the entire staff here is extremely helpful, polite, professional, friendly .... second the food was perfect. We're from NC so we know BBQ. ..this is not a corner BBQ place...its smoked meats that were to die for!!! We could add sauce but what for when the smoking part was done so well. Several of us ordered the combo which was plentiful and well priced. We will be back! !!

This was a pleasant surprise. Picked Epic because it was close to a client's hotel.
The Decor was attractive; even though for an inexplicable reason, they sat us next to the bathroom even though the place was largely empty!
The beef tips were wonderful; the spare ribs were very good but the baby back ribs were just ok.
