It's a good casual steakhouse.
Staffs never disturb us but give enough service at the best timing.
I like that styl every much.
Cost performance is also good.
Overall good place for a quick bite, gave a low Service star - We had gotten our salad and soup there was no table bread served to us. We asked another waiter for some bread and was told that it was still baking and will be out soon. We then got served our main entry. Two in our party ordered chili and was waiting for the bread to eat with the Chili. No crackers was served with Chili. We asked twice before bread came at that time our chili was a bit cold. It would have been appreciated if our waiter would have informed us instead of us asking another waiter.
Restaurant menu was fantastic. Great value for good food. Unfortunately, the hostess refused to seat us at a table despite the restaurant being largely empty owing to “other reservations.” We and several other couples were forced to sit at the bar while the majority of the dining tables remained empty for the entire duration of our meal. It was quite odd. She also also sat us at the “food bar” and said she’d have to double check to see if drinking was allowed at that bar. Very strange experience owing to the absolutely bizarre and awkward hostess. Don’t think we’ll be going back accordingly.
Very nice! As many times that I've driven by, I had never stopped in. So glad we did.
Restaurant week meal was rushed. Beef over cooked. Wilted salad. Poor quality crab cake.
This restaurant was absolutely fabulous. The food and service was outstanding. Willie was our server and he made sure that we had everything that we needed. This was our first visit but it won’t be our last.
Consistently one of the best dining experiences in Arlington!
The atmosphere was nice. Service was good. The food left something to be desired. Crabcakes tasted like they were in the freezer too long. Changed to grill chicken salad which was edible but the chicken had no taste. Only 1 of 4 were satisfied with their meal. Considering the restaurant was sparsely occupied they should’ve done a much better job with the food.
Very nice place to eat, comfortable seats, and beautiful setting. Not a lot of choices on the menu. The burnt ends are very delicious. The chili needed better seasoning, rather bland, would have been better with some heat. The pulled perfect and sauce were delicious. Cole slaw was a bit too heavy on the vinegar for me. Overall, very satisfied and would def try it again.
I like it for my Sunday brunches, elegant but not pretentious with modern decor. Unfortunately I m afraid other people will figure it out..and it will be harder to get into to..most business is during the week.
On November 14, 2018 I made a reservation for my office (team of 7) for a lunch on December 19, 2018 at 1:00 via open table. My reservation was confirmed the same day. The reservation was intentionally scheduled early knowing many people or offices may make plans during that week for a holiday meal.
Upon arriving at Epic Smokehouse, we were notified our reservation had been cancelled because of varying reasons ranging from 1. We thought you were arriving earlier, 2. We tried calling you two days ago and left a message and ultimately 3. a buyout had been scheduled two weeks prior for 2:00.
While I do believe a buyout had been scheduled two weeks prior to our reservation, a phone call and voice message had only been made by Brad at 10:24 the day of our reservation, (coincidentally, I work in a facility with no phone reception). The message indicated that my reservation should not have been allowed by open table because of the buyout.
Ultimately my team and I had to leave and attempt to find another location for our office luncheon as no resolution could be made to keep our reservation.
A few suggestions for Epic Smokehouse:
1. Based on the timeline of when our reservation was made and when the buyout occurred, accept responsibility that your management failed to notify me of cancellation in a timely manner. Blaming open table for allowing the reservation is not an excuse since our reservation was made prior to the buyout.
2. Provide the basic tenants of customer service, apologize for the inconvenience, attempt to help find a resolution, or at the very least TRY to be understanding of the situation that your mistake has caused. This may have circumvented the loss of future business.
3. Review reservation schedules when a buyout occurs or any type of event that may impact your day's activities. Perhaps this is already in your standard procedures, if so, it may be time for staff refresher training.
Good food, great drinks and nice setting. We enjoyed a nice evening.
Second time we’ve been here. Seated promptly when we arrived (they knew who we were!). Nice table in a quiet area. Prompt, patient server. Our orders arrived incredibly fast. All of our orders were top notch, we particularly liked the brisket and Mac and cheese. Will come again.
Always a superb spot for business. The staff is attentive but not clingy. They don’t rush you and they know the menu very well. I love this place so much I used it three nights in a row with three different customers when I was in town this week.
Brunch—delicious. Happy hour hamburgers wonderful. A local restaurant I recommended frequently
Great food and service!! I feel like a regular here and they know me by name!
Staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. This was our first time visiting, but we’ll definitely be back!
Very accommodating upon arrival, although the full party was not there in total. Nice mixed drink selection and beer offerings, along with tasty appetizers. The main course of BBQ pork and a steak were both excellent. Service was very attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommended.
The food was really good and the service quick. However, they were out of many of the beer choices including all dark beers. This put a damper on the meal since many in my group really enjoy dark beers.
Hate it when bar staff only take care of the guys drinking and watching sports and leave you to wait and wait while they chat and flirt for tips.
Chili and French Onion soup are very good. I highly recommend. Epic is also great based on pass experience.
Epic is always a great dining experience! The service is fast and friendly.
The smoked prime rib was amazing.
Wayne is a great chef and owner. He has fielded a great team to make any visit a pleasant one. Great food and a wonderful assortment of cocktails.
Friendly, available, and professional staff. Generous, yet flavorful portions. A true gem in Arlington!
Epic did a great job of seating us in a location where we could park our stroller and gently rock our three-month-old while having brunch with friends!
Also - the food was delicious. Get any dish with pulled pork in it.
The Moscow Mule was not good but the food was really good!!! Recommend the pulled pork salad, very yummy and refreshing.
My second visit to Epic in the past few months. Consistently great service and food. Highly recommend the smoked prime rib.
Just tried it out as a recommendation from Open Table! Great steak, Brussels sprouts to die for and the Bacon Bourbon old fashion was perfect!!
Pulled pork dish was really great but the slaw is way, way too vinegary. The pork came with onion rings mixed in but there should have been a few more; you almost had to search for them. Good service but the noise level was astronomical, made it really hard to carry on a conversation. Still, overall, this is a good place.
Overall the food was good, service just left a bit to be desired. Could have just been a one off though. Would definitely go back.
Found this place by accident a few years back and felt it was perfect for special occasions and date nights. Great find!
The smoked prime rib tasted like pork ribs, likely due to drippings. My friends thought their plates were decent (pulled pork, brisket). Overall, nice location quick seating with our reservation and food was average.
Great food and great service. Chopped salad and the brisket! Awesome. Also try the burnt ends. You won’t regret it.
Great food and service! Had the buttermilk fried chicken with the Carolina slaw and tried my wife’s brisket and awesome Mac and cheese. Both awesome dishes! Also had a great homemade Moscow Mule!
What's missing is a TV showing sports on the other side of the bar where you can watch them prep the food.
Fabulous service. Great menu choices. Had the Pastrami skillet. It was a special that day. Fabulous flavor. Good portion size.
Post Run meal, good mix of breakfast and lunch options for Sunday brunch.
The beef brisket was very tender and full of flavor. The baby back ribs had a nice smoked burbon sauce. Mac and cheese, homey goodness. The farmer's salad was filled with fabulous fall veggies with a bright lemon vinaigrette. Stay for dessert, the burbon bread pudding is hands down the best dessert on the menu. Enjoyed the Key lime pie too! House cocktails are a treat. And if you are lucky enough to sit in Wally's section you will be treated like VIPs. I even thought this was better than International Smoke in SF.
