Food was served hot and well. I would recommend this location to a friend. Cocktails and wines were diverse. Limited restroom facility. (Men's restroom was out of order and Women's restroom door could not lock.)
Food is not amazing. Too greasy for meat that is supposed to stay hours in a smoker. Disappointing and quite expensive.
Great place the root veggie plate is amazing
Ordered the shrimp pasta and was told out of shrimp. So I got a dry tasteless burger and my son got tasteless fried chicken. The smoked sausage was under cooked and the beef brisket was try.
Great food, cocktails, ambiance and service. Epic never disappoints!
I don't like negative reviews, however, there were many issues with our dinner. We knew price points going in and our expectations were high. The burnt ends and caesar salad were delicious. The horseradish encrusted smoked prime rib was bland and mushy, I assumed it would have a crusty horseradish bark but it did not and I got no smoke. The leek and potato mash was dry and had no leek flavor at all. My husband had the brisket, which was good. He was told it came with mac/cheese and Cole slaw. He received mac/cheese only. Our iced tea and coke were $3.50 a piece, which is ridiculous! Finally, our server never came back to check on how our food was, whether I was happy with the cook on my prime rib, nothing. He did refill our drinks and offer dessert before presenting us with a check. As we left, no one inquired if we were happy with our meal either. For an $80 check for two, I would expect much more.
The food is so delicious!
Epic is a place I go regularly—their happy hour has good value, their food is delicious. If I could criticize any point, I would say that they skimp on the lettuce in their salads, which seems very odd to me. But, I keep going back in spite of that!
Amazing as always.
Soggy and bland prime rib, worst I’ve ever had. Two-person tables leave you too far apart to talk. Also sun in my eyes for half of dinner through window shades. Do not recommend.
Very enjoyable meal. The appetizers (the calamari and the wings) were delicious, but as large a portion as we were expecting. All four the main dishes were great. I had the beef short ribs. The only disappointment was the Mac & Cheese. None of us thought it was very good.
Every aspect of our dinner was exceptional. From the front door where we were met by a team of very friendly people to our server who was terrific. Our two steaks we’re delicious loved the experience
Solid performance on all fronts - service, food, surroundings. I'd return based just on the burnt ends alone, and then the rest of the meal was pretty darn good, too. They delivered on a special request, food-wise (pulled pork on the chopped salad), which made dinner a winner. This goes on my list for any time I'm in the Pentagon/Crystal City zone.
The food was very good but be prepared for swift service. We were seated, ordered, had appetizers, dinner and paid the check in less than 45 minutes. Our entree arrived while we were still eating our appetizer. The appetizer arrived before our beverages. The hostess told us their goal is to turn tables quickly. Goal achieved!
Food was great. Service was excellent.
Only issue was sun shining into the eyes of table mates. The blinds were not effective enough.
Great service with great tasting food.
Really nice lunch! The service was fantastic and the food was delicious and looked wonderful, too. I would recommend Epic Smokehouse to anyone who is looking for a business casual type of place for good food, great service in a relaxing atmosphere.
Reservation is highly recommended if you want yo have a dinner with your friends without a long wait. Foods were good, price is high, but overall experiences were outstanding
This the first restaurant where the waiter decided on how much of a tip I was going to give him. I paid in cash. The waiter took my payment and asked if I needed change. I said yes I do. He returned with my receipt and no change. I asked him if I read the bill wrong why do I not have any change? He said wait I will be back and returned with a partial amount keeping the remainder which amounted to 21% of my bill. If I let him keep the entire amount it would have been 29% of the bill. I was planning on tipping 20% to begin with. That was the most arrogant server I ever encountered. Very unprofessional. Food was 5 stars but the service was only 2 star. I will not go back.
They didn’t have the beer or the mint for the drink I ordered then I asked for a cucumber crush they didn’t have Hendricks. They barely had a full bar and didn’t seem to concerned about trying to make sure I had a drink, so I just drank water. I’ll never go back here the management didn’t care the waiter was like whatever. They legit are across from a Costco go buy mint or whatever you’re missing. I will never go back. The bbq isn’t even worth it. Texas jacks all the way!
Great place for lunch and dinner. Joe at the front desk is very accommodating and Sam at the bar is super. The French Onion soup is the best I’ve ever had and the Epic burger special on Wednesday is a super buy. Stop in - you won’t regret it.
We really enjoy the pork BBQ. The beer on draft is great, too, but the margaritas were just OK. Overall, a nice place to spend happy hour or to meet for a meal.
the place smelled fantastic from the moment you walked in. The hostess was super energetic and happy to greet us. we were early so we stood at the bar for a drink and the bartender was very upbeat and happy to be there. we got to our table and everything we ordered was great, we had the chicken wings, caesar salad, brisket platter and crab cakes. everything was super yummy. will definitely be back!
Awesome Food...Awesome People
Awesome Night! I’m Hooked 😊
Chef/Owner Wayne is an absolute delight. Not only was the food was great (especially his mom's bread pudding) he greeted and talked to each of his customers. The atmosphere was terrific. My wife and I will definitely be going back.
Sausage is to die for!! Fried chicken did not have me going home and calling my mama about it
Wasn’t too crowded food was great
Valentines Day was very busy already by 6pm. The tables are very close to other customers, so you here everything from the tables beside you. The food was good as usual but they only had one special and it was seafood. The prime rib is a good choice, but the vegetable and side choices are very limited. Bottles of wine are reasonably priced and the corn bread is great. They don’t have enough waiters for a busy night like this. Our server was working hard but just too many tables with many customers making constant requests.
It's a good casual steakhouse.
Staffs never disturb us but give enough service at the best timing.
I like that styl every much.
Cost performance is also good.
Overall good place for a quick bite, gave a low Service star - We had gotten our salad and soup there was no table bread served to us. We asked another waiter for some bread and was told that it was still baking and will be out soon. We then got served our main entry. Two in our party ordered chili and was waiting for the bread to eat with the Chili. No crackers was served with Chili. We asked twice before bread came at that time our chili was a bit cold. It would have been appreciated if our waiter would have informed us instead of us asking another waiter.
Restaurant menu was fantastic. Great value for good food. Unfortunately, the hostess refused to seat us at a table despite the restaurant being largely empty owing to “other reservations.” We and several other couples were forced to sit at the bar while the majority of the dining tables remained empty for the entire duration of our meal. It was quite odd. She also also sat us at the “food bar” and said she’d have to double check to see if drinking was allowed at that bar. Very strange experience owing to the absolutely bizarre and awkward hostess. Don’t think we’ll be going back accordingly.
Very nice! As many times that I've driven by, I had never stopped in. So glad we did.
Restaurant week meal was rushed. Beef over cooked. Wilted salad. Poor quality crab cake.
This restaurant was absolutely fabulous. The food and service was outstanding. Willie was our server and he made sure that we had everything that we needed. This was our first visit but it won’t be our last.
Consistently one of the best dining experiences in Arlington!
The atmosphere was nice. Service was good. The food left something to be desired. Crabcakes tasted like they were in the freezer too long. Changed to grill chicken salad which was edible but the chicken had no taste. Only 1 of 4 were satisfied with their meal. Considering the restaurant was sparsely occupied they should’ve done a much better job with the food.
Very nice place to eat, comfortable seats, and beautiful setting. Not a lot of choices on the menu. The burnt ends are very delicious. The chili needed better seasoning, rather bland, would have been better with some heat. The pulled perfect and sauce were delicious. Cole slaw was a bit too heavy on the vinegar for me. Overall, very satisfied and would def try it again.
I like it for my Sunday brunches, elegant but not pretentious with modern decor. Unfortunately I m afraid other people will figure it out..and it will be harder to get into to..most business is during the week.
On November 14, 2018 I made a reservation for my office (team of 7) for a lunch on December 19, 2018 at 1:00 via open table. My reservation was confirmed the same day. The reservation was intentionally scheduled early knowing many people or offices may make plans during that week for a holiday meal.
Upon arriving at Epic Smokehouse, we were notified our reservation had been cancelled because of varying reasons ranging from 1. We thought you were arriving earlier, 2. We tried calling you two days ago and left a message and ultimately 3. a buyout had been scheduled two weeks prior for 2:00.
While I do believe a buyout had been scheduled two weeks prior to our reservation, a phone call and voice message had only been made by Brad at 10:24 the day of our reservation, (coincidentally, I work in a facility with no phone reception). The message indicated that my reservation should not have been allowed by open table because of the buyout.
Ultimately my team and I had to leave and attempt to find another location for our office luncheon as no resolution could be made to keep our reservation.
A few suggestions for Epic Smokehouse:
1. Based on the timeline of when our reservation was made and when the buyout occurred, accept responsibility that your management failed to notify me of cancellation in a timely manner. Blaming open table for allowing the reservation is not an excuse since our reservation was made prior to the buyout.
2. Provide the basic tenants of customer service, apologize for the inconvenience, attempt to help find a resolution, or at the very least TRY to be understanding of the situation that your mistake has caused. This may have circumvented the loss of future business.
3. Review reservation schedules when a buyout occurs or any type of event that may impact your day's activities. Perhaps this is already in your standard procedures, if so, it may be time for staff refresher training.
Good food, great drinks and nice setting. We enjoyed a nice evening.
