My coworkers and I regularly go to Epic for half priced burgers on Monday at lunch. The service is great, the food is delicious, and the staff is always very accommodating for our group. Epic has a great thing going on! I’d like to give a special thank you to Joe, who always ensures that our visit is great.
Everything was great. Loved the Bacon Burboun Old Fashion, really good. Filet was delicious. All around a great dining experience
Always a great experience.
Great service, even better food. Prepared and presented well, definitely worth a return trip.
Great smoked tender meals with very tasty sides...lot's to choose from. Excellent service and friendly informative staff. Comfortable warm venue and seating. Will be back when in the area again!
Did the restaurant week brunch. Selections though limited were very good. Portion size is quite generous. Food was tasty. Blueberry muffins are very good but the buttermilk biscuits were a disappointment. The Bourbon bread pudding was outstanding! Will definitely go back for that. Service was pleasant.
I visited this restaurant for lunch during restaurant week and i had the calamari, pig rolls and Cesar salad for appetizers pulled pork sandwich as an entree and bread pudding for dessert. Nearly everything was very good, piping hot and tasty. The calamari was not that great as I depicted it to be lacking flavor, however, the light breading and banana peppers paired well with each other. Overall, i am a happy and satisfied customer.
Food was inedible due to huge fly (horsefly?) in food
Service was under average. First waiter said she was busy and handed us off. Second waiter took order and never returned. Finally a manager noticed lack of service. After we received meal no one checked on us. Worse part was the fly in my quest's food. She had filet with mushrooms. When she turned a large mushroom over she noticed a strange object. Investigation confirmed by a waiter and manager determined it was a large fly. They were apologetic. Meal was removed and we received a gift card. Nice people, but we won't be eating there again. Probably would not have returned despite the fly incident.
Very good food, very close to Pentagon and near hotels. Only barbque place nearby!
My group thoroughly enjoyed their selections and each person indicated that they would try the restaurant again.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner beer at Epic Smokehouse. The staff accommodated our two young children and made them feel as special as the dining experience. The food was top quality as well. The burnt tips appetizer and smoked brisket main course were a perfect combination. This is truly a “must do” if you find yourself in Crystal City.
Great place for dinner - food and service were super!
Good combo meal, good pulled pork meal (loved the bbq sauce), good service, and good wine selection. You will pay for quality here.
My fiancé and I had brunch with our parents—his are from St. Louis and mine now live in Dallas. Both extremely famous for their barbecue. We appreciated that the host was energetic about Epic Smokehouse’s way of barbecue, and how they don’t claim to be St. Louis or Texas style.
Food was delicious and in a word—EPIC!
We tried this place during BBQ week and we will def be going back. The good was great and our server was awesome!
Lovely restaurant. Some food items were just on the cusp of greatness, but very nice nonetheless.
I had high hopes for this place, but was incredibly disappointed by the friendliness of the staff, the quality and taste of the food, and the atmosphere. Three people ordered steaks and they were presented with a piece of beef and white potatoes on a plate - no other color whatsoever and that lack of color was symbolic of the flavoring, which was lacking. The only positive meal was the rib plate and it did not disappoint.
Another great meal with great service!
The 12 oz prime rib was good however the mash potatoes were dry and I do not recommend. Also service was slow and I had to ask the waitress where my food was as I had waited 25 minutes and everyone else who came after me was being served.
Pros: The food was excellent, and so was the service.
Cons: we did not realize that we could only order from the Brunch menu at 1:30pm. Despite making reservations, we stood in the main walkway of the restaurant while they pushed two tables together for our party of 4. No kids menu - not a huge deal, the waiter was very helpful, but something worth noting for others.
Epic Smokehouse brunch was delicious and affordable. The Pig Wraps (think smoked pig egg rolls) were amazing!!! Loved the brunch options and look forward to coming back for dinner soon.
Epic Smokehouse was not so epic. Ribeye and Collards were bland. Thai Chili wings spice was off...not much heat. Left feeling unsatisfied.
It was a good experience at Epic. If you need a quiet atmosphere for business discussions, this isn’t it... but if you need business discussions and don’t want others eves dropping - this place is perfect. We all loved our meals. Portions were nice, presentation good, and prices right.
We decided to get out of the city because and try something new. I was in the mood for bbq. My wife and I shared the shrimp and crab appetizer and the Kahlua pork rolls. The pork rolls were pretty good. The shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. The crab part was well seasoned and tasty. We shared the sampler plate and a side of bacon brussel sprouts. The sprouts were overcooked and didn't have much flavor. Should have been roasted, there were several raisins in the dish which unfortunately provided most of the flavor, the bacon was almost non-existent. The bbq sampler plate was ok, the pulled pork was quite good and was clearly the winner, the ribs were pretty average. Not great for a bbq place. The beef rope sausage was ok, again nothing special, it went well with the horseradish sauce. Overall, if your looking for something while your out shopping, this place is ok but I wouldn't take a trip out to eat here.
Great food and great service. Worth the drive from DC
Food was okay. The chilli was full of grisly pieces of fat which was off putting. Fries in particular were really good though, would recommend the fries. Server was very rude & had a very strange & abrupt manner, he was an older gentleman with brown hair. This guy was the main reason we probably wouldn’t go back.
This was The reason I was in Arlington. The food the service the atmosphere every thing has falling off. Substandard to the Epic I first experience from 3 to 4 years ago.
It was a great dining experience. Service food highly recomend for anyone looking for good food and good service in the,DC area.
Great BBQ.. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.
Great service - really fun and professional. Food was OUTSTANDING! I mean - wow!!! Family of four dinner - we all loved what we had. The smokiness of all the meats was just delicious. Do not miss the Kahlua Pig rolls for an app. And the pulled pork platter was killer! Even the cole slaw rocked. We will most definitely return!
The food was epic and location is great. The seating that our host selected was near a window and it was a good space for people watching (and pooches)! The variety and selection of classic drinks were incredible and the brunch menu was a delight.
Me and my family visit for Mothers day this past weekend at the last min due to undecided minds. This was thee BEST service and food we have had in awhile. Everyone enjoyed they food and order double order of the collard greens. Shrimp amd grits excellent, pulled smoked pork excellent and country skillet.... Go check it out
Every time I go to Epic Smokehouse, I have an Epic time. Having brunch for mother’s day weekend was no exception. From the moment we entered, we were greeted and seated right away. The hostess, manager, and waitress, all ensured our experience was great. I never have any complaints about this place. My baby loved the muffins and the food was scrumptious. We will be back!
BBQ sauce was delicious as was the rest of the food.
Just what you'd expect. We had good, well prepared beef dishes, which were done to our orders. And for drinks, the martini was just right (then again how can you do a bad job on a dry martini) and my dining companion always orders a Manhattan on the rocks, and so many places deliver it straight up. I think that had to do with the service quality, which was also very good.
Great food and service. I got the brisket and it was fantastic.
The food was exceptional but the service was awful.
Excellent food - steaks and brisket and specials to die for. Service is superb. The dinning area is a bit small, but always perfect for two. Try the Sunday brunch also!
Ordered a few appetizers, two meals and desert. The Mac and cheese and calamari appetizers were great. My boyfriends steak came out great as well. I got the pulled pork platter, and overall it wasn’t too good. The barbecue sauce was a spicy, interesting flavor that neither my boyfriend or I liked. The Cole slaw was dry, and the fries were a bit over cooked. Desert and the bottle of wine we ordered were fine. Overall it was a good experience, good bang for your buck. Just wouldn’t order the pulled pork meal again
What a disappointment! My husband and I decide to give this place a try for our last night in D.C. I ordered the 12oz Prime Rib medium rare. 8 ounces of this piece of OVERCOOKED meat WAS FAT! Even the waiter who took my plate, without asking if I was done, stared at the amount of fat on my plate. We decided we'd have some coffee to end our meal. NOPE, can't have any coffee because their coffee machine broke. ( There's a COSTCO across the street .....I don't know, maybe they can buy one) Ok.....how about some tea then? NOPE..why you ask? The waitress says "THEY HAVE NO WAY TO BOIL WATER ". So, a fully working kitchen has no pot, no water, and no stove. ? DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
