   The Epic restaurant is a chic restaurant that serves very tasty meals. The ambiance is romantic. Service was spot on/above average. If they got rid of the black t-shirts for the staff and added some more décor it could be 3 1/2 stars.

   We used a Groupon to make dinner more affordable but the food and service were great!

   It's difficult to find great food late at night, even in busy Chicago. For a post-theatre dining experience, this was epic. The menu has a wide variety of gill and grill choices -- making it difficult to narrow in on a selection. Love the prawn appetizer and the duck three ways. We'll have to come back to sample some of the other interesting offerings like the lamb. If you like an original Caeser salad, this is s good one, though one in our party was off-put by the anchovies. Interesting decor, though a bit too loud for sharing conversation.

   The service was great. We thought the food could be a bit better for the pricing. My risotto was slightly overcooked and I didn't care much for the sauce paring with the scallops. The avocado-cucumber martini was very good. As was the foie gras appetizer and banana nutella dessert. The main course was the only thing we truly felt was lacking. The sauces for the oysters on the half shell are amazing. I would go back for that reason solely.

   The food was delicious but the customer service from check in to wait staff was very disorganized. The woman at the check in was pleasant and the reservation was in order but she had a head set on and after we checked in, she just started talking in the head set and we couldn't tell if she was talking to us or if we were being shown to our table. We stood in the entrance in limbo trying to figure out who was going to seat us and when. Also, the waiter was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Every time an order came out, 3 waiters and a manager had to hover around the order as if to figure out where it belonged....it seemed as if the restaurant had just opened and the kinks weren't worked out yet.

   The food was good but not incredible. The service was friendly but increasingly inattentive as the room started to get more filled. Prices are high. We had a decent experience but not commensurate with the prices or the name. We don't plan to return.

   The food was very good, everyone happy. Ambience cool as well. 20% tip included not cool. Beware the bathroom attendant lurking in the basement. I dont' know if I could have turned on the water or found a paper towel without him.

   Epic has never disappointed. I am big fan of all appetizers and the duck entree. On my most recent visit I very much enjoyed the fresh fish entree and my companion was very happy with the hanger steak. The atmosphere is wonderful - upscale and modern without being over the top and spacious. I agree with other reviewers that the service can be a little spotty. I have had excellent service at most meals but have also found it to lack a bit at others though not enough to keep me away.

    Food was fantastic. Service was lacking. Waiting a long time for our waiter to take our drink order, them to Get our drinks. He was very friendly, but The restaurant was very busy. Music they play is great!
