Quality brunch with a great atmosphere inside the most charming hotel in Toronto. The brunch is heavily weighted towards breakfast (custom made omelettes/eggs), lots of amazing breakfast pastries, several breakfast meats (sausages, bacons etc). There was some amazing prime rib but that is kind of it for lunch (a couple salads to accompany). All you can drink coffee and orange juice made this a great brunch for a reasonable price (35 Canadian). Definitely would go again for a grand old fashioned brunch!
the quality of the food was reason for chosing the Epic and well appointed details and waiters were excellent. I would return with a featured menu using the roof-top garden: please advise me of this. One of my top choices of Toronto restaurants based on the food quality.
The staff is super nice! Love them
service was superb, and food was tasty and well presented! would recommend to others
They are always very helpful. We will be back. thanks!
The food is great for the value. Will surely come again
Food was amazing. High quality and well prepared. High priced.. 2 of us was $260. Was a very quiet place so we had great conversation with friends which made for a very enjoyable evening out. The decor is very dated.... very clean but "hello 90's"
Great drinks and food and quiet enough to have a discussion in a relaxed fashion.
Fantastic service. We spilled some water and we were quickly brought to another table. In addition we received such goodies as an amuse bouche, macaroon desserts and even a complimentary Perrier to bring back to the room
The set prix meal is a great deal! Great food, healthy cooking, great service, quiet! Décor may be a bit outdated but everything else is great
Limited menu options . Need to provide some more lunch options.
Excellent service, amazing food, but expensive.
Love this place, excellent customer service, top notch food, perfect flavours, feel very special when i eat there
My brother's birthday. So happened Winterlious, we are happy for the lunch gathering.
It was an excellent dinning experience. You will not be disappointed at all. The food and service were top notch.
We were there for winterlicious. The food was good and service was excellent. I lik specially the kids menu. The price was decent and it was affordable and definitely not overpriced and can afford to revisit many times.
All was competent and professional. Menu does not disappoint.
I may be biased because I was given a breakfast voucher for the buffet and therefore didn’t pay for my meal, but that said, the fruit was impeccably presented (peeled grapefruit! What a luxury!), the muesli was the most delicious I have ever had—complete with cherries, the scrambled eggs were flavoured just right, and I could have eaten the mushrooms all day. Expensive, but if you have a good appetite, may well be worth it.
What a grand experience we enjoyed at Epic! Although we attended during Winterlicious, we opted to order off the regular menu. We were warmly greeted by the host and immediately escorted to our table. The waitstaff was attentive without being disruptive, and took care to keep our wine glasses full. The food (we had the lobster bisque and crab cakes to start followed by the scallops and branzino) was beautifully presented and quite delicious. We followed with decaf, port, and chocolate cake. The room was quiet and our table felt private and intimate. Highly recommend! Thanks, Epic for providing us with our most memorable meal while visiting Toronto.
We went for Winterlicious an were not particularly impressed. Salad was nice. Soup was ordinary. Flank steak was a little chewy. Did not seem to be marinated. Sauce was nice. Could have done with more since the steak hadn't been marinated. Desert was just okay
Overall we were not impressed
Service was very good
The food was fresh and delicious and the server was very attentive. As well, the ambience allowed us to speak to each other at normal voice levels and we could actually hear each other. Highly recommend for any occasion.
It was the first time for everone in our party at Epic restaurant brunch on Sunsay.
The ambiance and food quality was great at a very reasonable rate.
Nestled in grand old Royal York of course enhanced our experience however we all came to the concensus that the brunch menu could perhaps do with some upgeading and additional variety.
Service was great and everyone enjoyed the event otherwise.
From the greeting to the finish, the service was impeccable. The food was very good. I had clam chowder with stripped bass. The clam chowder was very rich. The stripped bass was very good and the vegetables were excellent. I was with 4 others and all enjoyed their meals. The ambiance is wonderful and we certainly never felt rushed. We were there for a business lunch during a very busy time when the hotel was hosting a large event but the restaurant was properly staffed so that service did not suffer.
Always enjoy the experience at a Fairmont hotel...
The appetizer was octopus which was so tender. This dish also contain sausage, baby potato bits and few other ingredients plus a yummy sauce. I love octopus and this disk was extremely well executed. Mains were scallops and duck breast. As always, both were perfectly cooked. The duck was especially good with subtle flavouring. The sommelier recommended the Flowers chardonnay from California and it was a perfect match to both dishes. Service was great as always. We love coming back to EPIC and it never disappoints.
Went there on new year day for brunch. Like the food, service is excellent. My son really like it and we all love it.
The New Year's Eve event was well planned and the meal was delicious. The service was impeccable. The band was very enjoyable.
My only regret is that the restaurant allowed dogs on the premise. The guests, next table over, let their white fluffy dog out of their pet carrier. The couple even danced with the dog in their arms. Not so sanitary so close to the chocolate dessert table !!!
The service was outstanding along with the food. The live music was perfect for the occasion. The band was amazing and I would recommend the restaurant to all my friends.
service was first rate. staff very friendly and accommodating.
Best scallops of all time
Family enjoyed the Christmas Eve dinner on a cold snowy night. Stayed overnight right at the hotel too, so altogether a great package deal. Save room for the delectable macaroons served at the end of the meal.
Had Christmas Eva dinner with my friend. Nice food ,nice wine and nice service
The Fairmont Royal York Hotel was selected as the venue for our annual family Christmas dinner because of its' ambiance, beautifully decorated and festive! Epic has an open concept floor plan which allows you to enjoy a view of the hotel lobby from your table. Dinner was incredible, the selections were amazing, the food fresh and beautifully prepared and presented. Our table was situated in a well sized circular alcove giving us as much privacy as the private dining room off to the side but with the added bonus of decorative columns, it really was spectacular! There were one or two things about this visit I wish I did not have to mention though, the first was my upholstered seat was caked with whatever the previous guests had for dinner, I'm guessing a child sat there before me and it was simply overlooked, the second item was the recommendation by the server to order a selection medium rare as opposed to what our guest requested; rare. That was a wrong recommendation. Third; there was a hair stuck inside of the champagne flute, it wasn't noticeable until the Chambord was added prompting the glass to be returned, we had to request the Chambord be topped up as well. For the most part it was a splendid evening with a few exceptions, the thing is, with the cost of enjoying this restaurant one would think that there would be no exceptions. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
I went for breakfast at the Fairmont Royal York just before Christmas in December 2017.
From the moment you walk in the service is very good at the Fairmont, they address you by name and always ensure your every need is met, whilst also making sure you don't have to do anything.
The buffet has a huge amount of choice and is not bad value at $34. However, the food from the buffet is ok, there are a couple of good pastries, but as with most breakfast buffets there is nothing particularly special about it.
I was not a fan of the restaurant's location within the Fairmont, there is no view as you are underground, which is a bit of a shame.
If you want a special breakfast (but not a buffet breakfast) I would try Cafe Boulud before you try the Fairmont, much better ambience and in my opinion better food.
Terrific food, service that was attentive without being intrusive. A lovely place to eat, especially if you want to carry on a conversation with the others at your table. Yes, there is music playing in the background but playing softly. Epic is a very good place to dine with grown ups.
this was a delicious delicious meal!!!! the french toast is AMAZING. I will definitely go back. beautiful cake spread for my sisters birthday. All round excellent.
First time in there for food would recommend to any one very good service food excellent will def be back in January for a meal
We love this hotel and go to the Epic often. Robert is an amazing server and we look forward to seeing him. I have never had a bad experience here.
I had a wonderful time at EPIC. The staff are friendly and very accommodating.
Everything was good. Food was great, all servers are very friendly and nice. Atomosphire was cozy. Even they prepared a nice little gift for my colleague who was a birthday girl. Everything was great until the last moment.
When we asked the bills, it took over 40 minutes to get the payment done since they needed a manager’s approval or something to use a card machine. We were there for birthday lunch at lunch break. We had to rush to go back to an office. That’s why I marked 4 stars for overall.
We would much appreciate it if you could manage to use card machine a bit more conveniently.
I will go back to the restaurant in near future though.
This was a special anniversary dinner for my wife and I. The waiters were exceptionally attentive and made the evening a wonderful experience including a special anniversary dessert which they surprised us with. Highly recommended.
