Love the setting, ie. linen table cloths and greeting. Initial service was prompt but took a while to take our order. Food was good - but not overly special. Staff were all friendly and apologised for the wait. Overall a pleasant dining experience.

We love the Royal York and have celebrated many of our special events there. We always have great service and all allergies are dealt with carefully and with no difficulties.

Nothing like having the waiter tell you that Trump is good for America to dampen your meal.

The food was incredible. What was lost in quantity was more than made up for in flavour. It is expensive for sure therefore a great spot for special occasions.

I had lunch with my friend from Japan.
I enjoyed "Quick Fire Grilled Tuna & Atlantic Salmon".
This dish was incredible!!
This was like Japanese "Tataki", but original taste.
Soy sauce dressing and crispy garlic!
It was sooooo delicious!
As a Japanese, I can say this is one of a kind that many Japanese love.

THE WORST THANKSGIVING EXPERIENCE EVER‼‼

Me and my bestie had thanksgiving dinner @ epic restaurant. We were so excited about this place coz it's inside the 5 star Royal York Hotel. For a set dinner priced at $89 - more expensive than any other Thanksgiving set dinner offered in most restaurants in toronto - you would no doubt expect to receive a dining experience more superior than at any other places. However I can bluntly tell you the experience we had tonight was way worse than even eating at a fast food restaurant
After we get seated and provided water, I told the waiter we are ready to order and all of us are starving. he has disappeared for more than 20 mins, during the time we tried to wave to him. But got totally ignored.
One of my friends ordered a glass of rose wine, she asked twice and finally got it when we having the main course. When the waiter was taking away the dessert plate and cleaning the table, I asked him to bring the bill, by that time we were the only table in our area, 15 mins past, no one brings any bill, so we have to wave to him again and got ignored again. Another 10 mins past, my friend shout to the waiter "excuse me, bill please".
And we finally got our bill.
The food was ok.
The service is really horrible, the Worst on the planet !
Will Never Ever go back again and surely will NOT recommend it to any of my friend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our special meal at Epic. We were welcomed graciously and attended to by our wait staff.
The food was exquisite and we really enjoued the local offerings.
We requested a special table through our Open Table reservation and were very delighted with what we were offered.

An absolutely perfect meal for our special celebration! Thank you!!!!

The food and service and ambiance were all fantastic, but something puzzled me. It's a situation I have never experienced in a restaurant before; the hostess seemed very reluctant to get the check to our table when we were finished! No waiter was coming anywhere near us, and even after I went to the desk to ask for the check we waited and waited and waited. In the end I had to go to the desk again and paid the bill there. If guests are required to pay at the reception desk, perhaps we should be told in advance. Other than this, all the staff were very kind and accommodating. Thanks.

We went for their weedend brunch buffet. Their waiters as usual are very attentive. However, not quite so for the kitchen staff where you order your omelettes, pancakes.

I would highly recommend the roast beef! The best ever I have eaten!

Unfortunately, from the four entrees, two were not really upto the image of this restaurant. The green pea risotto was rather strong with the cheese and the cod was bland in too much tasteless sauce.

We were served by George who delivered amazing service I don't think I've ever had such excellent service before. He was engaging and thoughtful always made sure we had everything we needed. He provided a bit of wisdom as well which was welcomed. I will only sit in George's section the next time I visit Epic.

Another excellent dinner. Mains were cod and the second was scallops with pork belly. All the seafood was perfectly cooked and very moist. They consistently cook seafood perfectly. The cod came in a light onion broth plus fiddle heads. Beautiful flavour. The other dish is a combo you that would not normally jump to mind. However the combo was awesome. Both are rich with deep flavours. The sommelier made a great wine recommendation. Service was excellent throughout. A delightful meal.

Overall, the experience was 10/10. Intuitive service, great ambience, handcrafted cocktails, extensive wine list, and delicious food. You are taken care of from the moment you walk in the door. This restaurant is definitely underrated, as it can compete with the top restaurants in the city with its local, upscale menu and top-level service.

As a family, we often have meals at the Epic and love it. We are always treated with care and respect and our son who has a disability is always accommodated. Joseph is amazing and the servers who attend to us pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable. Food requirements are always accommodated and we leave feeling well fed and having loved the experience. We will be back to celebrate in the near future.

My experience at Epic was just that, epic! I decided to treat myself and it was delightful. Upon arrival the service was excellent. I really enjoyed the sample for cleansing the palette. I ordered the offered meal. I had the dandelion and pea salad. Yummy. I had the cod which was delightful. I absolutely loved the Sorbet dessert. I did find it a bit costly, but the dinner and ambiance was worth it. I will definitely come back for a repeat experience.

I ordered an egg over easy. It came cooked right through. The toast was not what I ordered and was stone cold. The server should have seen that I didn't have the toast and that the butter was not melted but didn't say a word. I had a guest - I didn't say a thing either.

I was very impressed.

I'm a very good home cook and I always have very high expectations for restaurants and cafes. A strong sense of taste, too. My expectations are rarely met! Yet they were certainly met at this lunch!

My friend and I each had the special pasta of the day (Thursday, May 18). There was nothing that could have been done to improve it. The linguine was perfectly cooked, ditto the shrimp. The herbs and flavourings were subtle, but so intriguing. Overall, moist, flavourful, not oily. My only disappointment was that I couldn't quite put my finger on its entire flavour profile so that I could try to re-create it at home! Kudos to the chef that day.

I had the panna cotta for dessert and it was delicious. I enjoyed the fresh fruit that came with it. It had probably been marinated in a bit of sweet white wine. The decaf' coffee was fresh and well made and frequently refilled. The servers were pleasant and very good.

We were both glad we went there that day. Our only mild criticism was that the coffees (at $6 each) were almost 1/3 of the cost of our $20 entrée. My friend ordered a bottle of Pellegrino water and it was a pricey $8.

Helen K, Burlington ON.

There was supposed to be a flower given to mothers, when they called they asked how many mothers at the table. We never got any though, not sure why they would advertise that, it's was $100 and they didn't do anything special for mothers...

Our experience at Epic, was exquisite. The food was exotic (to us) and beautifully prepared and presented. It was also delicious. Portion size was a civilized sufficiency, not an overwhelming piled up platter. Just right.

The staff were gracious, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Because it was our wedding anniversary, we were surprised by a colourful, varied platter of beautiful deserts, with Happy Anniversary written on the platter in chocolate! Far more than we could eat but it was beautifully boxed up for us and presented in a decorative small tote bag for us to take home. Great evening out for our special day. Thanks, Epic, and Chef Little.

Celebrated Mother's Day a day early. Booked for 12:30 and opted for doing the buffet. Only to find out it only runs until 1PM. So we had to rush a bit instead of taking our time before they put away the food. Would be nice if they extend it until 2PM. Over all it was good. Food was very good too.

My order was the ceasar salad with the addition of grilled chicken.
The ceasar salad was perfect and not drenched in dressing, just the right amount plus the chicken was tender and cooked to perfection. The restaurant is very spacious and elegant luxurious, full bar, nice ambience. If you're in the area or visiting Toronto, great restaurant to check out.
