My friend was told to "move b*tch" from an employee on a Saturday night. I believe he was a bar-back. When we told a manager, instead of apologizing on behalf of his employee or doing anything about it, he had my friend escorted out of the nightclub and she wasn't allowed back in. She began to argue with the security guards because it obviously wasn't a fair situation. We were paying customers that paid for bottle service and a section (which isn't cheap). I just don't understand what kind of establishment allows their employees to call paying customers a "b*tch" and on top of that, kick that customer out as if they were in the wrong. I'm never going back there again and I wouldn't suggest any woman with self-respect to go there either.

I took my grandchildren and we had the most divine food! Miso salmon, 2 orders of sushi, wonderful appetizers..it couldn't have been better in any way. Very friendly and caring service as well and so convenient to the Denver Center of Performing Arts. I would go back in a heartbeat but sadly I live in Ohio!

The food is very good to excellent. The staff is friendly but unfortunately incompetent. There was never more than 3 tables seated. However, we constantly had to wait for things and request things like a 2nd set of chopsticks for our sushi. There was 2 of us in my party. Drinks were forgotten and slow to receive. The Udon dish while very good was awkward to eat. Removing shells that are in a soup without proper utensils is extremely difficult. Plus, no side plates to put empty shells.

We came for valentines day and I alone spent over $200 then my fiancé spent almost $300 in drinks. However, after seeing our bank statements, My boyfriend noticed that the waitress over charged us for her tip. He only tipped her $20 and she charged his card $120. Not cool at all! Beware when using your debit or credit card! The waitstaff isn't very honest! We will be fighting the charge! Never going back there again!

We might have been there on an off night because I know this place can be much better. The service was not good because our waitress asked us to repeat our order and also when to bring out the appetizer more than once. She also seemed to care less about how our meal was as she was walking away while asking the question. Eye contact was minimal. Also, the main entrée was not good. The creamy polenta and scallops wrapped in bacon were bland at best. Other than the bacon (who can mess that up?), there was just no flavor to the dish at all. I offered my feedback to the manager, who did offer 50% off the bill, which we declined. But for the price of the food, this restaurant needs to (and can do) better.

We had heard about this place being a lot of fun, but had a less-than-awesome experience.
Notes:
1. An employee changed a lightbulb over our table and basically stood on our table to get to it.
2. We ordered 'new style' sashimi, which comes with 6 pieces, and they brought us the wrong type with only 3 pieces. Then when we sent it back, it seemed like the sushi chef had to read the menu and discuss with the server about how to prepare the style we wanted. When we got it back, it still only had 5 pieces, not 6.
3. One of our entrees took forever to come. They brought out the first entree, and it was a solid 20 minutes before the second came out. I assume the server forgot to put it in, but she didn't admit that.
4. They charged us incorrectly on several things on the bill, but by the time we could get the server's attention we decided it wasn't worth it and we had a show to catch.

Not a good experience. Maybe the nightclub scene would be better here, but for dinner I do not recommend it.

The food was pretty good. But the service was very slow despite there only being 3 tables in our section at the time, the server lacked enthusiasm, and description of food was not given. This restaurant has prime location to the Denver Performing Arts Complex, this is why we chose this place for our outing to Jackie Evancho. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

The waiter was flustered with too many tables, and he didn't write down our order so not everything came out right, but overall it was a good experience. The valet is a great deal if you are seeing a show, just drive up and drop it off, have a snack before the show and another drink afterwards.

My boyfriend and I had the most excellent experience here for our anniversary. The ambiance was very nice as always, and I can't say enough good things about the cocktails and food selection. They comped champagne to commemorate our anniversary, and the managers came over to our table to congratulate us. We will be coming every year!

Located right in the theater district, this is a great find for pre-show dining or post-show drinks. If dining before the show, leave time - you don't want to rush the food. Excellent sushi, a variety of other menu items and some inspired cocktails.

Food was good but portions small. Had the lamb entree. At $28 portion really small. Double check your bill. Ours had 2 errors. Lamb was charged at $30 while menu said $28. Wine charge was $10/glass but menu said $8. We were told computer program error for lamb and old drink menu for wine error. Restaurant did honor menu prices. Also initial bill did not apply the coupon I had presented to the waiter.

Interesting, diverse, eclectic menu, great oysters though limited varieties (excellent choices however), some items rarely found on contemporary menus such as Steak Tartare which was the best I have encountered outside of NYC or SFO! Excellent service, restrained but present when appropriate and never hovering. Excellent sushi/sashimi offerings though some were not available - suspect she opts for what's best & freshest which seems to be a major characteristic of this place in the center of the theater district!

We ordered the tamaki sushi roll, the bacon-wrapped scallops, and the lamb sous vide. The sushi ingredients were good quality, though not excellent, but the roll itself was well-designed and delicious. The scallops were good. The lamb was well-cooked, but came out cool, and the mashed potatoes were overseasoned.

The service was generally okay, though there were significant delays on refills even though the restaurant was not very busy. The host seemed disrespectful of my girlfriend, and tended to focus his attention on me (male). It was not very overt, but it was offensive to both of us. That is why I gave a one-star review of the service, and the principle reason why we will not return.

This restaurant was fantastic. The truffle Mac and cheese is out of this world and the sushi was fresh and delicious. They have a great happy hour menu. The best part, in my opinion, was the service. Our waiter, whose name was either Tyler or Tee or something, was incredibly warm, helpful and offered tremendous service. We had multiple managers stop by to ensure all was well. And we got in and out, which was awesome since we went to a show. I've already told all of my friends about this place.

We purchased a Living Social deal to eat at Epernay Lounge and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service could not have been better. We purchased the meat and cheese platter a couple of sushi rolls, and the steak. The prices are a little high and if we did have the Living Social I don't know if I would eat at Epernay. We arrived at 7:30pm and the place was almost empty and I think that is because it is located right next to the performing arts center. I would go to Epernay for happy hour again in the future.

This was my 1st time going to the DCPA and wanted a nice restaurant. I choose Epernay based on their website and the information provided by the DCPA website.
I was completely happy with all aspects of my experience there. I recommend Epernay to everyone in the DCPA or 16th Street Mall area.

We ate at Epernay before the theatre, didn't have a lot of time but was in and out in plenty of time. The service was timely and the sushi was very good. The restaurant was not crowded which was surprising because it was a Saturday night with a red carpet debutant event, Wicked and other performances at the DCPA venues. I will go back.

You walk past it all the time to attend DCPA events - stop in! Whether light meal, full meal or after performance treat - this stylish establishment has it all. With five different items off the menu plus a cocktail and wine - everything was delish! Their wait staff is probably the most engaging and attentive one in town - which makes dining an extra pleasure. When the main season at DCPA is past we will still venture downtown just to visit Epernay. Contrary to popular belief - they are welcoming to the over 50 crowd too!

I took my granddaughter here before the opera, and staff were very helpful and attentive--my granddaughter even commented how friendly everyone was! Epernay is just a block away from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, so it was easy to get to from the RTD and then on to the opera. I thought the food was simple yet very well prepared, reasonably priced, and would recommend this as a perfect spot for a night on the town.

It looked promising. Not crowded yet, before our 7:30 performance. Arrived at 5:45pm, barely made it out in time for our performance. Service was very slow on all counts, drinks, appetizers and dinner. What made it worse was two of the main dinner entrees we wanted were not available because they were out of them. The mussels and the scallops. How can a restaurant be out of anything at 6:00pm on a Friday night when there were no customers to speak of? The food we did have was good, but not as good as they priced them. Sorry to say this visit was a bust.

We chose this restaurant based on its proximity to the DCPA. I was very disappointed. We ordered the shrimp cocktails, green chili egg roll and a spicy tuna roll.
The shrimp from the shrimp cocktail were fine. However, they are sitting in tomato paste not a cocktsil sauce, straight tomato paste-it was awful.
The $13 green chili egg roll was very tasty....all 5 pieces of it.
The spicy tuna roll was 6 pieces and the thinnest pieces of sushi, I have seen. While the roll was tasty, it was super tiny. The Sapporo was great!!
Don't waste your money...choose a different restaurant.
PS--the service was Great!!!

Epernay's fixed menu DCPA pre-show special, including valet service, is an excellent value. The menu includes champagne, appetizer and a choice of entre. I had the chicken, my daughter the beef. A vegetarian dish is also offered. Both meals were delicious and filling.

We were visiting Denver from out-of-state. This very reasonable offer made the evening so much more enjoyable for us. Highly recommend it for any one attending a DCPA performance.

The restaurant is gorgeous! The staff were all so friendly! We dined there before a concert at Ellie Caulkins for my husband's 40th birthday. So...our reservations were at 5:45pm & we were the only ones there & happy about it, actually! I hear it is more of a late night spot, but we enjoyed a nice quiet dinner, while being entertained by the staff. There was a onesie party happening at 10pm that probably wouldn't be our scene :) But, it was great, the food was great & we'd come back again for sure!

Exceptional staff, excellent food. From first greeting at the door to the wait staff and management, our experience was near perfection. I've dined in five-star and top Michelin rated restaurants around the world for over 40 years and Epernay is easily now among my top ten restaurant experiences. The oysters were fresh, the scallops succulent, and the spicy tuna perfectly pungent.

Michael and Chris, thank you for a wonderful dining experience ... and to the hostess whose name I couldn't ask in the presence of my guests, thank you for a wonderful evening. It's great to see a front-of the house staff that matches the caliber shining out from the kitchen.

I was a bit concerned this spot was going to be a bit too hip for my husband and I. We felt welcome from the minute we walked in the door. Everyone was so friendly and the people watching was fantastic! The food did not disappoint. We visited on Valentine's Day which can be hit or miss at any restaurant. This was a hit! My husband ordered the lamb and I had the chicken. Yum! The night was an experience to remember and can't wait to return!
