The experience was less that fabulous primarily due to COVID and what appeared to be a minimal food and drink menu. The food we ordered was good but the wine was somewhat over-priced and one of the glasses was bad, which is understandable due to lower demand, but could have also been caught prior to the glass reaching the table.
Very nice setting, attentive service and great value for price. Food outstanding. Dawn's desserts are always exceptional.
Cool wonderful evening with friends! Joey was excellent at taking care of us! Fun time! Thanks.
First time eating here. Their outdoor patio is beautiful, with majestic views of Pusch Ridge. Food and service were both wonderful. Perfect outdoor dining experience in Oro Valley, AZ!
We also had dinner here the night before. That experience was exceptional from start to finish. Loved our waiter, Mikal. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful but the server lacked personality and seemed a bit snippy.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Joey, our waiter, was outstanding, and our meal delicious. View of mountains from restaurant balcony is gorgeous!! Heartily recommend this restaurant for excellent dining.
The food was delicious. The patio was very pleasant.
Great food, great service, wonderful ambiance.
Quiet and nice
Beautiful to eat on the patio as the sunsets. The sauces were incredible meat was fantastic. I miss the bread they had. Dessert was great.
The prices at dinner are a better value than at breakfast. It was enjoyable and dining on the patio was delightful with the view of the mountains.
Great outdoor patio overlooking the pool. Loved the lights that hung above. Relaxing
Made a reservation for the patio, but they put us inside. It’s very depressing inside. Too bright and outdated decor. Waiter was friendly and service was fine, but food quality was average. We were disappointed, as we were staying there and hoped for a beautiful evening on the patio.
We stayed at the resort over a long weekend for my birthday. The first night, we were impressed with the food and service. However, on the night of my birthday the service was awful and both my husband's steak and my pork tenderloin were overcooked and tough.
Very creative and healthy menu items. Beautiful atmosphere. Perfect service.
Staying at El Conquistador for a couple of days, planned to eat one celebratory dinner there and ended up eating all meals there because the food was so good. Service was great and patio dining after dark is really pleasant this time of year (late Sept). This is a great restaurant that deserves to be saved from the current conditions. Will go back soon even though we live on other side of town.
Had a reservation, but our table was not ready, offered me a table outside in 100 degree heat. No thanks. Garage doors open to outside so very hot inside as well. Took 15 minutes to get water, another 15 minutes to get a salad. Then brought entree before we finished our salad. Poorly staffed for the Labor day holiday weekend. Food was average, not a $28.00 skirt steak. Served with fries. Heard another patron say it took 2 hours to get food. Saw many guests walk up to the manager a complain about food. Not good for this season of a pandemic. You would think the service would be outstanding, to try and get and keep guests.
Amazing food, the drinks were delicious and incredible service, We will definitely be returning!
Food was prepared properly
Pork tenderloin portion was very good and cooked to ordered temperature
Breakfast was prepared correctly and timely service
Took 1 hour between the time we ordered and when we were served and was not crowded.
They served us very well in accordance with Covid guidelines. Ambiance was quiet as you can expect, but our server was super nice, the food was delicious and the place felt nice and clean. The only bad news I have to offer was that their margarita was just a little too citrusy for me, but if you like citrus, get it!
The Epazote Kitchen is located in the El Conquistador Resort outside of Tucson where we recently stayed for several nights with family. Our experience started out on a great note when the manager sent out an appetizer on the house. How often does that happen?! We had the most wonderfully prepared, delicious dishes. The Paella was packed seafood (scallops done perfectly!), had the right amount of spices and came moist and hot. The salmon was thick, a great sear which made a crusty outside and done to perfection inside. The farrow it was served over was the perfect flavor pairing...delicious! The burger was big and had all the right garnishes. I can not remember the name of the vegan meal our daughter had but she enjoyed it very much. Specialty cocktails were great as was the wine. We look forward to getting back to Tucson and visiting the Epazote Kitchen again!
Abysmal. We didn’t stay to eat after spending 30 minutes trying to find something on the “reserve” wine list which apparently hadn’t been updated in years. We left when the waiter never came back after we sent her looking for the third bottle of wine, which I suspect they didn’t have. This restaurant is certainly not what you’d expect to find at a nice resort.
Waiter was so so. Food was pretty good. My beef tenderloin was served at medium, ordered as rare.
Really enjoyed it all around- setting, service, menu
Ok, Valentines Day is probably the worst day of the year to go to a restaurant. But even so, Epazote still disappointed. The quality of the food was excellent but the quantity and service was lacking - probably the first time I have ever spent over $100 on dinner for 2 and come away hungry. Perhaps the fault of the waitress, who when asked if the main dish needed a side course, said no, the salmon comes with farro which should be plenty (no, a quarter cup of farro is not plenty. ) And we only saw the waitress twice after that during the evening - once to deliver the food, and once to give us the bill, having to flag down another waitress to order dessert. My wife still is laughing about the dessert - a sampler plate that included "cheesecake", all of three dime-size half scoops of cheesecake, again excellent quality again, but painful to share a plate between two that was insufficient for one. Luckily I had a slice of pizza in the room to with which to finish filling up.
Overall the food was good, but the service was slow, although the server was quite pleasant. I found it interesting that they ran out of their famous cornbread green chili muffins by 8 o'clock in the evening, while they had tables booked all away through the end of the evening and it was Valentine's Day. Also they were out of their crab for the crab stack appetizer also by 8 o'clock. How hard is it to make enough muffins when the restaurant is booked basically until closing and who plans to buy only enough crab to supply tables only through 2-3 hours of the evening? I would think management would plan better for a Valentine's Day holiday.
We recently stayed at the El Conquistador resort and LOVED Epazote! While in Tucson we were hoping to find some great Southwest cuisine. We did not have to leave the hotel! The food at Epazote is excellent and we ate there TWICE! The staff, friendly! The Steak Tacos, Crab Tower, and Guacamole were wonderful. The Strawberry Jalapeno Margarita required refills - it was that good. The house margarita is also very good, but opt for Patron vs Cuervo (completely different Margarita depending on the tequila).
We went on Christmas night and this would definitely be a more enjoyable ambiance in the spring or summer when the doors are open and the view is there. It's basically a bar with tables as another reviewer stated but the food was good, and for the season the service good.
Waiter was very attentive and courteous. Best steak in a long time.
Great experience. We celebrated a birthday. The patio seating was delightful, service attentive and friendly and the food outstanding. The atmosphere was very upbeat. Will be back.
We love Epazote! The weather is perfect so the outdoor patio seating is fabulous for a lovely dinner. We look forward to coming back! Thank you!
The Service was slow, the food was average and the prices did not match the quality or taste. Not sure we will be back.
This is a very special place to enjoy a fabulous sunset view. The prices are reasonable, the food is good and the service is good as well.
What an amazing dining experience! Chef Josh created an outstanding vegan surprise for my dinner with herbs from the on site garden. It was delicious and Chef Josh was so attentive to our group. It was a priceless evening. The next day we couldn't stop commenting on how much we enjoyed the evening and wondered if we were treated special for any reason. We concluded it is just the way everyone must feel who dines at Ezapote!
Food was amazing and Leah was great!!! Will definitely be back.
As usual everything was fantastic.
Excellent service, pleasing atmosphere and the food... was... delightful.
Thank you to the entire crew.
From the hostess seating us to the filling of our water and the wonderful chef staff we couldn’t ask for more.
Service and wait staff were friendly. Ambiance was lovely. But the food was just okay. Probably would not go back.
The quality of the service and food was very disappointing.. this is more of a pool side coffee shop level, NOT a restaurant.
