I celebrated my birthday dinner there and moved to the rooftop for a birthday celebration. The ceviche and crab bun was amazing! My server was more than accommodating with the crowd that came for me.
I wanted to try this restaurant really bad because I always see people out front. I made reservations and got there a little early the staff did not make me and my friends wait for seating. They actually gave us a better table which was very generous for of them. We had a great meal I ordered the steak which was amazing. My friends ordered duck and ribs which there was nothing left on the plate because it was sooo good. We took a walk upstairs to the rooftop bar which had a great vibe going on. I definitely will be back.

Got right in and seated quickly with reservation. Server initially seemed attentive, but that changed as dinner progressed. He forget the Tea my girlfriend ordered, and did not check in on us while dining. We asked for Dessert menu but he brought us the check?! Took that as he wanted us out, or he just couldn’t hear us because It was way too loud in that place. Either way that sucked as far as service goes. The best things ordered were the grilled mushrooms, also the dan dan noodles came out 20 minutes after our other dishes, basically ruining the dinner service. The noodles were too salty and lacked something, not worth the $22 spent on them.
My wife and I arrived to celebrate a late Valentines Day celebration. The food and drinks were superb. Highly recommended!
The food wasn’t anything worth mentioning, to be honest. Also, definitely overpriced for the food and drinks. The rooftop bar is cute- Would go back for the rooftop.
What a disappointment. Should’ve known the rooftop bar would be a total ripoff. Beyond the outrageous prices - Drinks served in plastic glasses???? Then downstairs for dinner - so nothing. Any place else has got to be better - don’t waste your time.
Had a 7:30 reservation, was greeted and shown to table immediately. Gracious and efficient service from the staff. Delicious & flavorful food. Highly recommend the crab bun, duck curry, & black cod.
I won't have a repeat visit, nor do I feel that I could recommend it to friends. Perhaps it was a busy Friday evening when everyone is out, but the noise level was quite high. We (a couple) was sat across the bar and my back was on the pathway in between. Everyone who passed by had to literally brush against my back, and I had to lean forward for bigger people. Not a great way to enjoy food or conversation; the most uncomfortable place I've been in for a while. They could eliminate one-two tables and have people sit parallel to the pathway, which would change a lot... The service wasn't great either; okay until the second course, lacking afterwards. The food was great though, absolutely spot on. I feel bad to give low reviews for the experience, but I wish we could have had the chance to enjoy the food without the inconvenience.
The food and drinks were great, however, the service was pretty awful. I constantly had to ask our server for utensils, knives, water. I felt like I was harassing her every time. Now mind you it was Friday night, but a place like this should have been able to handle it--I mean it's very LA sceney. And as someone who has worked in the service industry, it really should have been handled much better.

we were trying to take advantage of the dine LA week, we were super excited to see the menu, so when we didn’t see it we requested it. As soon as we requested it the servers face switched from nice to rude. And she never came back to check on us after she submitted our food. I felt that was extremely rude, i understand we are eating promotion items but those items are the ones dragging us to give the place a try on the first time. never coming back for sure at regular rate menu. I felt it was disrespectful for her to assume that because we were enjoying a special menu we would not tip her and also very tacky.

I noticed that the servers there talked amongst each other and were not diligent enough to refill the water or ask my dinner and companion if we needed anything else. I had ordered a $65 bottle of wine and was charged $80, so the server made an error and I was just in a rush to leave the poor service that I noticed the details of the check once I got home. The food was okay. I did the DineLA menu. The service needs to step up.
Had a ladies night/reunion of friends back in town. It’s a beautiful spot, food was ok, but the service was terrible. Our water was never refilled, the waiter NEVER checked on us after we ordered food, and when we didn’t want dessert, our waiter dropped us the bill, LONG before we were ready to leave. We weren’t asked if we want more drinks, our plates weren’t cleared for 40 minutes after we finished eating. It made the experience really unenjoyable. I would not go back. The food is not good enough to overlook such awful service.
Glorious time, one little mishap with a messed up drink and slow service, not directed at our server he was nice. Just in general. Always a good time!

My office group and I were planning on going to the rooftop for drinks prior to our reservation downstairs however were extremely disappointed to find upon arrival that the rooftop was closed for a private event. We were never alerted that the rooftop was closed that night and since reservations are not required for it, we had no way of finding out. I suggest in any calls that are made to the restaurant and rooftop that week, the hostess share that the rooftop will be closed on specific days. Closures should also be announced on Instagram and also in email and text reservations made for the restaurant. Having a calendar on the website with dates blocked off would be helpful too.
This place was so live and energetic! Perfect place to gather friends and have mimosas on a Sunday.
Our table was taking too long to leave so we had to wait before we were seated. But the staff (Juan) took such good care of us while waiting. Extremely friendly and inviting environment. Absolutely loved our experience. Will definitely be back!!

Our meal was fantastic! The staff were friendly and attentive but not pushy. Plus they were playing all the old skool jams your heart could want, our table was singing and vibing the entire night! I'm never disappointed when I come here and will definitely come again!

Overall, an outstanding location. The kitchen’s smell was quite overwhelming upon entry, but we eventually got accustomed to the fishy smell.

The food was great but the waiter was incredibly rude and visited our table a total of 5 times during the entire 2 hours there. We were initially delivered the wrong food and had to let another waiter know, no one came by to even address the mixup. Worst service I've experienced in quite a while!
Our waiter didn’t check on us unless we flagged someone else down to either make a request or ask for our waiter to come over. The food was good, which helped the experience. When we asked for the bill we had trouble receiving a bill with an itemized list of our order and as we waited our table was approached at least twice about finishing up/leaving, possibly to make room for the next reservation? It was a less than pleasurable experience.
I love Ep&Lp, but I am more a fan of their rooftop than I was of their restaurant. I still had a great experience though!
I was visiting my son who lives in LA with my married daughter. We wanted a fun night out at a trendy restaurant in LA. The ambience was lovely but I thought the food was overpriced for what it was. I eat out a lot in Chicago at fine dining restaurants and I travel all the time and dine.
Your food was salty and the portions were small for the price.
It took me a few days to detoxify from the salt.

Don’t ever try this place ! Service is absolutely terrible, our waiter was in a rush to get us out of the restaurant, barely served us and gave us attitude at every interaction. The food is absolutely over-priced and mediocre at best. Drinks were nasty, which is deceiving as they have a rooftop terrace and this made us not want to continue our night there.
On top of all this, they also tried stealing my boyfriend’s phone after telling us multiple times that we didn’t leave the phone on the table (the manager was seen going and retrieve it from the valet next door after pretending that he knew nothing about this phone)
Waited an hour to be seated even though I had a reservation. Staff was nice but was unapologetic about the wait, even though it was an hour until we finally got seated. They’re BUSY but yet again, it’s always BUSY here. Maybe, they shouldn’t overbook. Food was delicious except for the vegetarian dishes.
