Good place for a fun dinner. If you're looking for quality Asian fusion or authentic cuisine would suggest looking elsewhere. Nice servers, cool ambiance. Rooftop bar is the best part.
I enjoy this place very much. The foods are fantastic!! Keep doing the good job!!
Also, the service needs to be more attentive to the guests more...
Disappointing overall. Trout was very good, yellowtail in salad was fishy. Shrimp skewers pretty nasty. Expected much more from this place
This place is absolutely amazing ! Great energy and so cute inside . Great food too ! Definitely a 5 star restaurant.
Rude and disrespectful, arrogant staff.
Food terrible, deep fried fish with raw onion, how exciting is that...??
Such a cool and fun environment. Food was GREAT! Service was excellent, will definitely be attending again!
Top notch food. Chill ambiance. Excellent service.
Despite having a reservation, was seated 30 minutes after I arrived, and did not have a single waiter come over for another 20 minutes. Ended up leaving prior to ordering due to poor service.
I was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant, but — unfortunately — my experience did not meet expectation. I had a 6:30 p.m. reservation and needed to be at a show by 8:30 p.m. I imagined two hours would be enough time to try all the dishes I wanted (including dessert) and be able to get to the show in ample time. Instead, I barely received three appetizers and a beverage before I had to leave, pressed for time. I was dining alone, meaning, I am typically a server’s dream — low maintenance, not too demanding, only one person’s questions to handle, in and out fairly quickly. However, I felt like my easy going attitude was presumed upon and that other parties were prioritized over me. I saw my waiter so sparingly. He seemed preoccupied with bigger parties and also didn’t seem to understand that waiting 20-30 minutes between visits was frustrating to me. He really seemed to be trying his best, and I assume good will, but I’m not sure he was managing his tables efficiently. The food was good, and I enjoyed my cocktail; but the whole experience was sullied by the service.
I had the worst waiter of all time. If it wasn’t for everyone else working with him the busser or the food runner and the bartender I would’ve left no tip. Which I never would consider doing but it was that bad. However the food and drinks were artfully prepared. Our table was so small you can barely fit anything. We had two appetizers two entrées and two drinks and it was hard to fit that on the table. Music was good. But again the waiter helps steer the vibe and he was by far the worst I’ve ever encountered.
Ceviche was delicious and the fish to die for. Service a bit slow — hopefully you speak loudly because it’s a noisy restaurant!
Music was unnecessary and extremely loud. And not the best selection for a restaurant.
It was ok for the roof top.
Strange dining experience. Asian inspired fare combined with very loud rap music. The food was OK and service was decent, but I probably wouldn’t go back. We did enjoy getting drinks on the rooftop (LP) prior to dinner.
We made a reservation for 4 at 6:45, and I was looking forward to catching up with two friends I hadn’t seen in years. Once sat, we immediately noticed how loud it was, which progressively worsened as we ate. Towards the kitchen, there is a sparkly wall for girls to take Instagram pictures, so you get an idea of the vibe they’re going for.
We started with cocktails and wine. Two of us had a nice mezcal based drink that was a smokey/spicy mix. The food was solid, but the whole meal was upstaged by the staff.
Early into the meal, my two friends on the opposite side of our table started getting booty bumped by guests trying to shimmy to their booth next to us. The manager came by apologizing and explaining that they failed to set the tables up correctly and if we could all as a team lift the table and slide our chairs over a foot. That wasn’t a problem. We moved the table. However, for the rest of the meal, I was getting hit on my side by the serving staff as they tried squeezing through. At this point, you might be thinking to yourself, “this table must comprise of four absolutely massive individuals.” But no one at our table was over 6’ 2” or weighed beyond 200 lbs. Ep&LP just struggle with furniture apparently.
The icing on the cake was when a hostess came to our table telling us we “had exceeded our two hour grace period” and we needed to leave the restaurant and go to the rooftop. Nowhere on their website do they mention a time limit to your meal. Ignoring the strange verbiage they went with, I’ve literally never been to a restaurant with a shot clock. I would understand it if we weren’t ordering anything else, but we were having desserts and after dinner drinks.
The rooftop was packed with old people wishing to be young and young people trying to act older. There was literally a table of five girls sitting without any drinks looking depressed right next to a guy in his 50’s on his computer.
Perfect place with god food and energized atmosphere. Can highly recommende this place
The atmosphere and drinks are great. The food was over priced and not appropriately proportioned for "family style".
The cocktails are diluted. I would not order any cocktails unless you just want a sweet drink without any alcohol content and be charged as though it did. I asked for two cocktails and each was diluted to the point that I think they were bereft of alcohol. The waiter did nothing to atone for this. The food and ambiance was wonderful. I went to eat at this restaurant again on another night and ordered wine instead.
Good drinks, I really liked the rooftop. We went there at first for dinner, and the food was not anything special, but the service was great, the atmosphere too!
Restaurant very good - customers on the rooftop terrible - definitely not alined with the standard shown by the restaurant. Obviously there is no selection at the entrance. I will not come back with my girlfriend for sure with this kind of customers.
It was my first time at E.P & L.P but I had heard many good things about the place prior to. My friends and I met there to celebrate my graduation from Professioanl Studies. The service was amazing. The ambiance was perfect and the rooftop bar was clutch. The rooftop has a great view of the Hollywood Hills, very spacious with great vibes. I look forward to eating here again soon!
Took another couple as a good bye dinner arrived early enough to go upstairs for coctails before dinner . Our reservation was 7:20 and we were seated promptly and in a booth. We all enjoyed our choices and had to take home food as portions that we chose were large. Our server was the nicest and friendliest, not super wine knowledgeable but good enough . Overall definitely would go back again, this was my second time and upstairs bartender remembered me as well as a few waiters. Got to meet the Chef and thank him for the great night.
Excellent! Great chefs make amazing dishes.Don't forget the outstanding desserts.
We had so much fun! The food was amazing. I love the open-kitchen style.
Was great! food was awesome, fun vibe, great service.
I was very skeptical about this place, it seemed more like a bar than anything else. But it truly exceeded my expectations. We sat by the bar, where you can see in plain view all the chefs at work. They have a section for every dish they have on the menu, and when one guy finishes a plate, there are 2 supervisors checking on every single dish that comes out before it gets handed to you. Truly blew my mind away that they are so meticulous with their quality of food. The food was amazing. The Kakoda was my absolute favorites. Check this spot out for a date night, or if you want to go rooftop for a drink.
Crow is young and lively. It seems like a hot spot, esp. after 11pm as there were a line outside.
The rooftop bar is beautiful, with a magnificent almost-360º view.
The overall ambience is great, but noise is a major consideration when making your reservation.
It's way louder than most restaurants, as if we were in a bar/club.
Regarding their asian fusion menu, half of our order were great (chicken, ribs, slaws), half were ok (yellow tail salad, rib appetizer). Overall, the food was fair but expensive.
The drinks are in the range of $16-20, again, more expensive than all the other bars in the area, and they were just ok.
Worth it for the fried fish in schezuan pepper. So good. Delicious mezcal cocktail too.
Very good food but bad service. Waited a long time for a table even with a reservation and a long time for outlet server to come.
Terrible value. Beautiful restaurant, amazing rooftop and attentive servers but the food was simply overpriced and the portions minor. Great place to visit but hold low expectations on the actual meal
Even though I made a reservation on OpenTable my guest and I were seated at the bar. It was incredibly loud and uncomfortable to sit there. We complained to the restaurant and they told us we didn't have a reservation, but when we should our confirmation they still told us we had to sit at the bar.
Great food. Great vibes.
Food preparation was unique and flavorful. The service and atmosphere, though, were not good. Several members of the staff (rooftop bartender, our waiter in the dining room, dining room manager) were aloof. Our waiter acted as though he was doing us a favor by even stopping by the table. Music was very loud in the dining room, not conducive for conversation. Can't recommend this place.
Literally the best restaurant in LA. It simply can't be beat. The food is wonderful, and Chef Lou is kind, friendly, talented and the best possible chef.
Should have told us before the reservation that they don’t accept less than 21 year old people on the rooftop bar
It was my second visit and it was still amazing. I adores the “Turning Asian” drink- it comes in a tiki neko cat! And best dish of all, the check to neck.
Taking traditional and rather inexpensive Thai and Vietnamese dishes - changing an ingredient or two and calling it fusion doesn't justify the price. You're better off going to Thai Town or the San Gabriel valley for truly authentic and much better tasting Asian dishes for a fraction of the price. I wish I would have gone to a steak house instead.
Horribly over-priced, poor quality food!
We were on holiday and visited saturday evening. It was lively and and a cool atmosphere we liked very much.
I enjoyed the lively vibe at EP & LP but it did get a little too loud sometimes. I have a soft voice, so it was hard to shout all the time to be heard, and I had to concentrate a lot to hear my friends during our dinner. I liked the food as well. We were trying out the DineLA menu they had over there. Overall, the price was a bit too high for my liking, but I knew it was going to be pricy going in so I wasn't too shocked. The portion sizes were smaller than I expected though. It tasted pretty good but the ribs were maybe a little too sweet for my tastes. The service was great and they even let me charge my phone at the counter for a few minutes so that I could call an Uber. Overall, I had a good time and I would come back here in the future to try their open-roof bar.
