The hostess intimated that our table reservation for four was just cleaning up. It took 30 mins for her to text. By that time we were famished. And ended up eating the bar menu.
Super trendy with food that's worth the price. Love going simply for the vibes.
Nothing outstanding except the Shrimp Fried Rice. Pricey for what you get.
I really enjoyed it. The food was amazing. Lots of creativity and our host was the best
I walked in thinking what a great place - I was meeting a friend I had not seen in years and we were catching up - I couldn't even think let alone hear her. Juan was fabulous (our waitress not so much - she felt the need to roll her eyes at me) in trying to help but apparently the music has a mind of its own and decides to play at a level where you can feel the base in your chest. Needless to say we left and went elsewhere. I would have loved to have tried the food; as it was we had our drink and left.
Sadly on the stars about you required I check food - again let me reiterate here - I did not have the opportunity to try the food so I'm unable to answer that question. You also made me check noise level - it was not energetic it was annoying.
Great service & very tasty food! Portions are a good shareable size
Family visiting from out of town.
This restaurant is amazing , I will come back soon
The waiter was nice and cordial, unfortunately he never brought our appetizers. Everyone was fairly happy with there meal, but skip dessert, it was disgusting.
I liked the ambiance and the rooftop bar. Fun place to have a drink or two before Dinner. However, the vegetarian option (there was just one entree) was pretty awful, I had maybe one bite. The fried rice was good
Though! I do think my husband liked his meat dish.
The food was pretty good, although kind of confusing, and the servers were not super informative. We went to the rooftop bar afterwards and I somehow was charged something over $30 for a margarita. It's a nice rooftop bar but it's not THAT nice!
Came in with a group of friends and had a great time. Food and drinks were good. Service was on point.
The food was excellent and The server very pleasant.
The only problem is that I have received my dish 30 min before my friend receive his dish.
So I have almost finished when he started eating.
Overall it was a good experience.
Always love the ambiance here... not my first time and definitely not my last!
This is the perennial LA restaurant where a premium is paid not on the plate but in the scene. Come to EP and LP for laissez faire service, the occasional bold bite, but more importantly, a chance to add your face to the mix in Hollywood.
Great atmosphere, and a couple of very good dishes. We thought a few dishes a could have been better for the price.
I'm a regular but took my dad & step mum here, they were so impressed. My dad said it was the best meal he had ever eaten... Compliments to the chefs, wait staff etc. Love EP LP. So much flavor. Clever dishes.
Atmosphere was great, small plates were all excellent. Larger sharing plates were too salty for my liking. Service was not the greatest.
My CTO, in town from Manhattan, is vegan and I am not so this was a great place for us to come
the meal at this restaurant was one of the most disappointing I've had in years. I came in with an internationally known chef as my guest, excited about all that I'd heard about the menu but was stunned by the unbalanced recipes, poor execution and overall quality of the cooking. The ingredients were fresh and that is the best thing I can say about this place because at this price point I should be dazzled. The slaw was boring and needed sesame oil and nuts to balance the overabundant acidity, the fried rice was so salty that it had to be sent back, then was sent with undercooked shrimp, and everything else was dull and uninspired .
The saving grace of this place is the rooftop bar - but how can you screw up booze?
I've been to the rooftop several times but this was my first time at Sunday brunch. My friend thoroughly enjoyed his steak and eggs. Will be back with my boyfriend for sure!
It’s a bit hard to hear people you’re with. Caught myself yelling, and asking people to speak up. The food is incredible though, and the noice level won’t keep me from going back.
Food is pretty good! I love they’re crispy fried chicken! Yummy crispy skin, but I just wish the put some kind of sides like fries or fresh veggies or something? It’s just chicken alone with hoisin sauce.
Another dish that I really like was their lamb’s neck! So good with mint sour sauce and sriracha hot sauce.
I’m disappointed with their Ceviche tho, it was very small serving and had 3 pieces of fish sashimi in it and lots of cherry tomatoes. I think they used give little bowl of rice crackers on the side which is helped to get rid of the sourness of the sauce but now we have to order on the side and pay for it! Dude this rice crackers is very cheap and you shouldn’t charge for it! I’m Asian and this crackers are always free at rock sugar restaurant or any Indonesian restaurant I’ve been to!
And for the service was super slow!! It takes forever for the food to come out. And So hard to get attention from our waitress.
Always absolutely phenomenal. Only thing is the music is very clubby.
Been here a number of times and it is as relevant as ever. The food, the service and the ambience all very cool. I’m all about their food but the rooftop bar has some very fun drinks. It’s a great hang overall!
Food was good! Smaller/reasonable sized portions. Service was great. If only we could have heard each other! The volume of the music was ridiculously loud for 1 PM. Our server couldn’t hear us. We could barely have a conversation.
Service was terrible and the food was very bland. Overall was very disappointed.
Super expensive asian food, but awesome ambiance. Very noisy, I felt like I was yelling the whole time.
The service was really good. Our waiter knew what he was doing, all about the food and was super nice.
We are visiting from Canada and loved this restaurant. Music is loud but fun. Food was outstanding! Really great unique flavours! We had a 2 yr old with us and I think we were the only ones with a child but we were nicely accommodated. Will be recommending to our friends to check this place out the next time they are in town!
I highly recommend the Chef’s Choice. It’s for 2 or more people, $50 a person and they bring out several dishes off the menu. You can sample it all. It’s fantastic.
Great fun!! Great staff!! Great food!! Looking forward to next time!
Decided on E.P. + L.P. for a friend's birthday dinner and we were very happy with our choice! The food and beverage were amazing, there were so many flavors that we were not used to! It was really nice to try something new, definitely not the traditional Asian food we normally eat. The location was easy to find and decor was A+. As well as the great food our server Jacob was awesome! He was very helpful when it came time for us to order, very knowledgeable about the food and offered good suggestions to modify dishes to our needs (less spicy). Overall I would recommend the restaurant to others and definitely want to come back!
I was visiting Los Angeles front New York City, I was referred by a friend who lives in LA to visit EP+LP to take my boyfriend for his birthday dinner. We were told it was a fun, cool new spot. Upon arrival, the door guy didn’t allow my boyfriend to enter because he was wearing silk trousers. He said “we have a jean and slack policy” whatever that means? Mind you, my partner was wearing more than acceptable, if anything nicer than the torn denim the host was wearing. After speaking with his manager, we were granted access. Upon checking in for our reservation the hostess neglected us and quickly attended to the group behind us, whom in which arrived with no reservation. They took a few minutes to find seating for the group and still didn’t greet us with a simple “hello” before attending to the guests behind us first. Maybe they didn’t like his “trousers”. We were finally greeted and seated in a nice spot nearest the window. Yes, this was a Saturday night, large crowds expected (I am from NYC I understand and can tolerate a crowd, what I can’t tolerate is being neglected by employees who choose to attend to larger parties. We’re equally a paying patron of the restaurant and deserve equal attention. After several minutes of getting a servers attention to provide a menu and offer water, we decided to place our food orders immediately. We were actually quite happy with the food we selected. They waitress made really good recommendations and was actually very informative! I hope the managers at this facility read and understand, this place has amazing potential to be super cool, but the energy from the staff needs to change. Put the sass and pride aside, after all they aren’t the customers. Don’t make customers feel unwelcomed either by the hostile remarks from doorman. And incorporate “trousers” to your dress code for men.
Starters were very good. flavorful, but very small. Loved the ceviche and the crab. Spare ribs were in the sweet side but tasty and the duck was spicy and very good. Entrees were not impressive. Well presented, but didn’t have the flavors the starters had. The short rib was a big block of meat served on a plate with nothing else. It tasted fine but lacked any intensity and interest. The fried fish had flavor and a wild numbing citrusy sensation but needed some kind of sauce. Under all the aromatics it was just small fried fish pieces. The chicken was well fried, but the too salty flavor made it almost inedible. And the trout was smothered in a coconut milk sauce that was too heavy for the delicate fish. The fried rice was the best part of the main course. And sadly, the $16 cocktails were so weak, they were only worth $10.
The music was great. Vibe was young and fun. Doubt we’ll return though. Too bad because it could be so much better than it is.
We are foodies (husband is a chef, I am in the biz too) and we loved the Kokoda ceviche and the pudding the most - but everything else was good too. Had the Dungeness Crab Chawanmushi and the Mooloolaba Prawns as well. Be sure to use the lemon when eating the prawns. Vegetable fried rice was really good and husband's Twice cooked Short Ribs did not disappoint. Culinary has a good feel for the umami and acidic balance of flavors, very satisfying. Service was a tad slow - could have sold a few more cocktails had they been around more. Took awhile to get greeted too. Great sound system, a decibel too loud for conversation even though we sat across from each other and I have bionic hearing. A few improvements could be made and I would give it 5 stars.
Good place for a fun dinner. If you're looking for quality Asian fusion or authentic cuisine would suggest looking elsewhere. Nice servers, cool ambiance. Rooftop bar is the best part.
I enjoy this place very much. The foods are fantastic!! Keep doing the good job!!
Also, the service needs to be more attentive to the guests more...
