EOS Greek Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
Eos is always full of familys and couples enjoying their excellent greek food. All of the appetizers are delicious, and of course the fish is always excellent. You can try the flaming cheese dish for a bright surprise. We always start with the Mezze (3 dish combination), and add a couple other appetizers. You can fill yourself on appetizers alone. And the wine is reasonable.
We really enjoyed our meal. The steak pita wrap was wonderful as was the fried calamari . One of my friends had the salmon and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, the white sangria is fabulous. The only negative comments I have are 1) the service was not great. We were there on a Tuesday night at 5:45 and we were one of only 2 or 3 tables of people in the whole place, so we thought that was pretty unacceptable to have such bad service; 2) the fried calamari did not come with any side sauce and when my friend questioned it, she was told that they had marinara sauce if we wanted some. She said yes please. It never came. Lastly, though I mentioned how wonderful the white sangria is, I thought $12.00 a glass was very steep for what it is. It is not unusual for a decent glass of wine in our area to cost $12.00, however, Sangria, which is typically made with inexpensive wine and a lot of filler, should not cost that much in my opinion.
Food has always been good and authentic but so much anymore. Wine list was mostly Greek but since I'm not familiar with Greek wines I was hoping for a little direction...our waitress didn't know the wines and didn't offer to get someone to help us. Overall very disappointing.
was one of my favorites before this last visit. service was poor and gyro took forever.
no explanation or apology from waitress when we asked. also no meat in gyro...very
disappointed. hope it was just a fluke as I said I have liked this restaurant in the past.
The restaurant has changed so much, the food was of low quality, the zucchini tasted like water and the sauce on top looked and tasted like a dressing from a bottle. The Greek salad has crushed feta cheese and it seemed like the restaurant bought it from a market, it was not fresh. Overall the food was very poor compared to past experiences.
I was unimpressed. The service was terrible - we had to ask for water refills several times and my iced tea sat empty for half the meal. We had to flag down our server to get service several times. The food was fine, but just fine. Steak needed more seasoning and the salad needed more olives than just the stingy 4 alottment.
The food is what makes this place valuable. I am from
Europe and the food served (all three courses) took me back to my childhood. The food was delicious and tasted almost homemade. Very fresh; the only thing to change is to not have fries with the skirt steak but a vegetable instead.
The only reason this place is not getting 5 stars is because the decor and ambiance really lacks. It is really dark even eating outside so it somewhat kills the mood. Also the decor can use an upgrade for a more crisp and fun look. I love that this place offers the outdoor seating but it is really dark even on a sunny day.
The food was really very good, the skirt steak was okay and needed some more flavor, but the potatoes that accompanied it were delicious. The lamb was awesome, definitely recommend sticking with the lamb dishes. Taramasalata was delicious, one of the best I've had. The tzatziki was also fantastic! They had great food for the most part. The Greek beers we're good, and the service was also great. The ambiance is pleasant, I wish they played Greek music instead of pop music, but honestly it doesn't really matter. Bathroom was clean, but a single person one. Clean restaurant with cute outdoor seating area too. Nice lighting, especially by the doors at the front of the restaurant. Decent size bar with all the typical selections. All of us really enjoyed the meal and will probably go back if we make it down to Stamford again.
When I checked in I was told there was no reservation on file, nor were the friends we're meeting there yet. Good thing is they did have a table for 4 available. I waited outside while my husband parked the car and to greet my fitness when they arrived. This seemed all so strange as I received a confirmation from Open Table for the reservation that same day. Then my friend came up to me and said she and her husband had been inside for 15 minutes. Weird?! The service was slow and inconsistent all night. The table was tiny and we were fighting all night to keep our drink glass, water glass and the dishes that came all in the table. It was very frustrating. The food was good. I'd do take out another time as the service and atmosphere is lacking.
