Enza's Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The waitress was very nice, and new alot about the menu and their wine selection. I got the meatball appetizer. The waitress praised it as being the best appetizer on the menu. The meatball was rubbery and tasteless. It was one of the worst meatballs I've ever had in my life. I think I'have had better out of a can. Then I had the eggplant parmesan for my entree. It too was one of the worst I've ever tasted. The sauce was bland, and there was more bread than eggplant. At first the waitress served me someone else's dish, as I was about to cut into it, she took it right out from under me, and put the eggplant in front of me. I guess she must have given the original plate to another customer. We had the banana cream pie for dessest which was the best thing I ate at this place.
Great food and service! I have food allergies and the chef, himself, came to our table to address my needs. Then he created a delicious entree that I could eat that I thoroughly enjoyed. To top it off, he came back at the end of the meal to ask if my meal was good. WOW!! Talent AND customer service from the Chef!! Win/win!!! Will go back again.
Our fourth dinner at Enza's and everything was just right once again. Seems like we have settled into a pattern of dining at Enza's every two weeks. The holiday time can be a stressor for restaurants, but even though Enza's was busy with a holiday party (maybe an 18-top?) and sending out catering orders, the food and service were superb once again.
Visited while in Jacksonville for a military function. Pleasantly surprised with a great ambiance, gracious hosts, great food and very reasonable pricing. There was even a live pianist filling the place with elegant music. Couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely go again when I'm in Jax again.
When you dine at the best Italian restaurant in town at least 3 times a month, that should be an indication how consistently good your experience will be at Enza's.
On this occasion, we went for our daughter's second night birthday celebration. Stephanie was our server (shhh! That's Enza's daughter) and was a delight as always.
We ordered Chicken Piccata, Chicken Ala Rosa and Chicken Parm. Everything was spot on. And the side salad has been enhanced with shredded carrots and tomatoes. :)
Below is a picture of my Chicken Parm dish. I got through about 1/3 of the dish and took the rest home. Mama Mia!
And they are on Open Table. Go to their website and click on the link to make a reservation. You'll need one, or you will definitely wait...
Enza's has always been one of our top choices when planning on going out for dinner. It is always an excellent experience. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. And of course, we look forward to being greeted at the door by the gentleman in the wonderful suits. We always have a bet as to what color he might be wearing.
Enza'a has been one of our favorite regular restaurants ( >2-3 times a month). Food usually good & service usually decent depending on waiter. On this occasion however we had a terrible experience, mostly related to our waiter.
After seated waiter appeared then disappeared. Eventually returned to take drink order, we received drinks 40 min. after seated.
As diabetic I had medicated in anticipation of food within 30-40 min. When drinks arrived I requested bread. Waiter returned 10 min. informing us bread was in oven. It arrived 10-15 min. later. I asked about salads & that was another 10-15 min. When asking are: salads, almost an hour after sitting down he looked very puzzled.
My meal included a side of pasta, I was asked what kind + what sauce but SIDE OF PASTA NEVER DID COME! We eventually told him to forget the pastaMy wife was p.o.'d, asked him to remove any charge for the pasta to which he somewhat rudely advised that "the side of pasta was free."
Enza herself was in the room, visited a total of 2 tables (of about ? a dozen), one for a lengthy time. That was pretty tacky! IF she was going to check on tables she should have stopped at every one, to do otherwise is disrespectful. I would have loved to discuss our service and displeasure.
IF we ever return to Enza's it will only be if I can request a specific waiter. One has been awesome, some not good at all, and although this server was new, that is no excuse for the awful service + "with an attitude."
They should have made some "adjustment" for food we were supposed to receive but did not. He should have at least pretended to check with someone!
I have met Enza many times, have a "mutual friend" who is there at least weekly. She needs to pay more attention to the "Service" and avoid the very long delays in serving drinks, and food.
Everytime we eat here the food is amazing, the staff is friendly and attantive. The ONLY thing I would suggest is the seating at the booths, for larger individuals and elderly (my FIL came for a visit), there is not alot of space between the booth and the table, difficult to manuver. Other than that, zero complaints and we eat here a couple of times a year.
Our third dinner at Enza's and everything was perfect. We shared an appetizer of Calamari Fritti that for the third time was served at just the right moment. Hot, tender rings breaded lightly and paired with a delicate fresh marinara. I had the Shrimp Fra Diavolo and my partner had the Shrimp Scampi on capellini. Both entrees were cooked just right. My pasta was served with a complex tomato sauce that was a fine blend of heat, richness and flavor. We shared a tiramisu that surprised with a chocolate flavored cream topping. What a great meal!
If this was not the best meal I have ever had, then I surely do not recall a better one. I had the Veal Ravioli which I have never seen offered before elsewhere. It was outstanding. This was a birthday dinner with my wife. I indicated it on the reservation. The waitress was wonderful and my wife received a free desert option. The deserts were even more delicious than the meal. I would recommend Enza's to everyone.
BEST AUTHENTIC ITALIAN CUISINE in the entire area! Unable to find good Italian food since relocating from RI (Providence & Westerly - both know as "little Italy"), I finally felt like I was home! This was my 2nd (w/many more to come) visits to Enza's. Enza & her husband are fabulous hosts, chefs, & all around great people who truely care about their patrons & the quality of their food & staff. If you are looking for REAL AUTHENTIC ITALIAN CUISINE this is the place to enjoy it. The flavor, ambiance, owners, & staff are excellent & very personable! Pricing is reasonable for the quality AND quantity of food served. An A++++ establishment for everyday dining, special occasions (we celebrated our 15 yr. wedding anniversary), or company functions that is sure to please &I highly satisfy your craving for true authentic Italian cuisine. Thanks Enza for your superb hospitality & cuisine!!!!!!!
We arrived right on time, it was a little hard to find the first time.We got seated right away.Server
was good/adequate.It was busy so liitle slow getting our food. The food was just Ok, nothing
great.Definitely , would go back if not for the pricing.Everything was at least 20% higher
than other competitive Italian restruants we are accustomed to.We had a special, grouper, and
veal parm, with a bottle of wine.
We were there on a Friday night at 6:45. It took 30 minutes to bring our bread and another 5 to bring our salad. 15 minutes later our entrees arrived. My husband ordered chicken francaise and it had no flavor other than salt. I ordered veal Stephanie, it had good flavor, but was also over salted. When the bill arrived my husband's meal was $1.50 over the advertised price. When we inquired as to the reason we were told that although it comes with a side of pasta, he requested oil and garlic in the pasta and they charge $1.50 for that. The waiter did not tell us that when he ordered it. There was no ambiance, lighting was bright and service very slow. We will not return.
Well, we were traveling from Atlanta ga to St. Augustine, & needed a place for dinner. I checked out their reviews and it sounded terrific . It was a perfect neighborhood gem , from the server , to the HOSPITABLE OWNER, ENZA..& the delicious food, and I do mean capital D for delicious! Enza treated us like family, as well as our courteous server .... they bend our backwards to please u !
We wish u were in Palm Beach...so we could go more often...thanks for a great meal.
My wife and I were on our Date night. We heard about Enza's from a friend of mine. Well when we walked in we new this was going to be good. It was cozy, the Piano player was Great, we loved the low lighting, it was quiet, we didn't have to yell to hear each other. The food was fabulous. We started out with the Big meatball it was Great. I could make a meal out of that and a salad. But we had a wonderful meal, the service was impeccable. We would Definitely Recommend Enza's to others. What a Great dining experience.
We had out of town friends meet us here for dinner. We dine here often. Our wedding dinner and daughter’s graduation dinners were here. As always the food was delicious. Enza stopped by the table to say hi. Our guests were very impressed with the staff and the meal.. especially the eggplant parmigiana that I highly recommended prior to that night.
I always refer people to Enza’s for delicious Italian cuisine. 😊
