ENVY The Steakhouse at The Renaissance Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
the food was very good. I've been to Envy several times and every time I go I am reminded how low their chairs are and for a short woman, it is very tough to sit at the tables and we had to change to a booth. I hope to remember that ahead of time when we return. Awkward having to move everything once we'd started our drinks etc...
The fried calamari was one of the best ever eaten - truly exceptional. However the filet was over-cooked. It was a good cut of beef but the requested medium was more medium well than anything. I’ve heard great things about Envy so perhaps we were there on an off night.
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. I bought one of the Travelzoo $99 deal/coupons and were expecting an over all minimal expierence. It was fantastic. We loved the food, the staff was exceptional and very welcoming, and it was a fraction of the cost a restaurant on the strip. Exceptional place, locals should definitely enjoy it.
We were celebrating my wife’s birthday. Used a Travelzoo offer. Friendly, knowledgeable waiter. Appetizers were crab bisque, and crab cakes, both delicious. My entree was sea bass, wife ordered 8 oz filet. We shared a baked potatoe and delicious spinach (extra). The filet was cold and resembled a pub burger on a simple white plate without garnish. Waiter took back to kitchen only to re-deliver the same piece of meat, now over cooked and white. Waiter apologized stating “not our usual cook tonight”? My wife’s side dishes were now cold. Upon cutting in to the filet she struggled through “multiple” white veins running through entire piece of meat. Waiter apologized, said he would show his manager and offered a replacement of salmon to which she declined since I was finished with my meal. The waiter then slid her birthday platter with desssert across the table while commenting “hope this makes up for the meal” ? Unfortunately, we did not taste the desserts. This was not the birthday celebration I had planned for my wife!
That evening and the following day I was sick from the sea bass. With so much going on with my wife’s meal I ignored the odd taste of my sea bass.
Waiter asked “how can we make this up to you? I replied, with such positive ratings, I think a revisit would be justified. Unfortunately, said the waiter, we don’t award credit or gift cards!
Hotel dining is not necessarily something we look forward to. We had an offer through Travelzoo, and took advantage of it. Overall, everything was excellent! The only downfall is our travel zoo offer allowed for more food than we needed-but we took the challenge head-on and succeeded! Easily could share a salad main dish and dessert for two people and be sufficiently full. The wedge salad was fantastic. Also had the appetizer, calamari/shrimp combo was very tasty with a good White sauce. We did a surf and turf sharing scallops and steak. All was presented as ordered. Chocolate tort was much better than the grilled pound cake for dessert. Our server was attentive, letting us dine rather than rushing us through the experience. We were able to enjoy our drinks and move onto the next course, literally we were full after the wedge salad and appetizer.! Overall a great experience, do not think he will be disappointed if you choose to spend your time and money here.
Let me begin by saying the service was great however, the food was far from it. I was unfortunately greatly disappointed with my experience here food wise.
We ordered the 8oz Filet Mignon $49 & 24oz Porterhouse 🥩 $55 both medium rare. We both received them WELL DONE! Not even remotely close to pink in the middle. You’d figure for a place known to be a steakhouse wouldn’t screw up that bad. Don’t get me wrong I’ve been to my fair share of Steakhouses/Chophouses and received my steak medium after ordering it medium rare, which I won’t send back. But over $100 to not enjoy we ordered 🤬🤨. Not going to happen. I also ordered a side of Mac & Cheese $8.
Yes, of course I’m skeptical about sending any food back to the kitchen, especially after watching Waiting. The waitress was kind and sent it back to the kitchen. She got rid of our old Mac & Cheese so we can have a fresh back with the new steaks. I don’t mean to come off as a snob, but more of a aficionado, the Steaks are by no means worth the price despite the major hiccups. I’ve paid triple the price for half the size before, but it was worth. I’m a believer in you get what you pay for and unfortunately the steaks that I ordered weren’t worth the price. And I always enjoy ordering a side of really good Mac & Cheese. This Mac & Cheese was way to creamy and super plane Jane. Not worth it. They did give us buttermilk mashed potatoes as a side as an apology. I am unbiased despite my poor experience with the food and can say that the mashed potatoes were like the kind I grew up eating as a kid out of the box. So, needless to say not fond memories. They did hook it up with a large dessert platter. Best of which was the Chocolate Lava Cake. The others, I wasn’t a fan of and would have been disappointed had I paid for it. Service was great which is why I gave this restaurant overall 2 stars, otherwise would’ve been a solid 1 based on the food alone.
I live in Vegas but this was my first experience at ENVY. I brought my family in for Christmas dinner because I had to work that morning. Our server Josh was absolutely wonderful! The food was magnificent! The entire staff was professional and accommodating. Loved it! Will return for sure!
Easily found, I couldn't figure out why there wasn't a larger crowd for dinner. The menu was varied and offered good selections. My Wedge Salad was chilled, tasty and had fresh ingredients. I ordered a NY Strip and it came wonderfully prepared. Granted, the lobster tail was $30 additional if I ordered one but heh, it's Las Vegas and I know they didn't grow it there. The wine list is good, not huge, but held a sampling of Reds, Whites, Italians, Argentina, and of course Napa Valley wines were represented. Dessert was awesome as was our server. Attentive, engaging and a professional in every way. I'd say this place was a hit for us. Give it a try and cheers to you.
The overall ambience was comfortable and elegant. Service there was both friendly and prompt . The food was “adequate” for an Outback steakhouse. For the prices that you were charged, I expect more . The Del-Monaco potatoes were crunchy, the asparagus were pencil thin and the steak was underwhelming.
Good location and nice atmosphere.
The food was not good. The service was very slow, and the meal was poorly executed and very expensive. No one in our party enjoyed the meal. No one in our party even finished the meal.
Our waiter seemed nice and helpful enough, so I'm not complaining about the service. But a meal for four of us was very pricey, and the food was Sizzler quality.
We always try to return to ENVY when we visit Las Vegas. The food is always delicious and the service very friendly and attentive. On this trip Josh Drennen was our server; he and his team made us feel comfortable and welcome. We were celebrating a birthday. See the photo below. Although the menu is a little pricy, Envy is much more affordable than the big name steakhouses on the Strip and the food just as delicious. It's a 'hidden gem.'
This restaurant was recommended by an Uber driver from the airport as I was staying at the Renaissance. I originally was booked to dine at Mastro's Ocean Club but did not want to deal with the strip. I then went down to the hostess station and asked how it compared to Del Frisco's which was up the street and walkable. The waiter said it was very comparable. We booked our reservation. It was a Saturday night but not crowded. It took over 10 min for anyone to greet us when we were seated. There was no wine list provided. After a nice greeting the wine list was provided. For a fine steakhouse, the wine list was very limited, only a few bottles in each category. The wine was not that great as there were limited choices.
Wedge salad was very ordinary, the bacon did not taste fresh, dressing was ok. Porterhouse was not even in the same league as Mastro's or Del Frisco's. we ordered two kinds of sauces, but only one was provided. the au poivre sauce was not good.
The parmesan truffle pomme frittes which had been reviewed on here as so special, were just shoestring fries. You could not taste any cheese or truffles or truffle oil. very disappointing. The crab cakes were just ok. Not hot, a little mushy.
Server was friendly but nothing special.
Overall I cannot recommend. there are so many great choices in Las Vegas, this one falls a bit short.
My husband and I celebrated our 42nd anniversary on August 9th in this restaurant, which was recommended by my son. Our Waiter, Chris, started us by offering the most suitable tasting wine. My husband ordered 10 oz filet Mignon & fries, I ordered Trout and baked potato & we shared salad. The presentation of our food and the tasting was excellent. Finally, Chris complimented and congratulated us our anniversary by complimenting & finalizing it with chocolate muse cake and vanilla ice cream. This was the best experience we had and possibly we'll go there next year to celebrate our special days. We thank Chris, the restaurant manager for an exceptional experience. Ann & Henry Voskanians
Been here a few times and it does not disappoint. The truffle fries to the entrees are worth the effort to get off the strip and go eat here. Our cuts were perfect and the flavor was fantastic. Everyone in our 10 top group was extremely satisfied with their meals.
