ENVY The Steakhouse at The Renaissance Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
food was ok for the money, my NY strip was medium instead of medium rare, which was annoying. my wife's filet was cooked to order and was good. the sides were good. the staff was nice, but not really good. it's hard to explain. they tried, but didn't deliver.
i found it annoying that they have a policy of not bring menus when seating patrons. if i'm going to sit there with no bread, no water and no menu for 5-10 minutes i'd rather be waiting in the lobby so i don't feel like a starving idiot at my table. had they just sat us with menus our whole experience would have started out on a much better note.
maybe it our hungry state, but the food took a long time to get to us. we didn't get served until an hour past being seated.
We had had dinner at Alize the night before visiting Envy and the food at Envy was every bit as good. We had a 4 course prix fixe dinner and every course was excellent. The Petit Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth.
My husband had the Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla ice cream and it was gorgeous. My cheesecake was very good, but I was wishing I had taken the same as he did.
I had The Cantonese cocktail which was delicious.
I am pretty sure we will be visiting Envy next time we are in Vegas.
Sad to report the food quality was poor.
I had a bone in ribeye and the meat was flavorful but Luke warm along with a cool to Luke warm sause.
Service was great, I think the waiter assistant was full of service and it was not only obvious but sincere.
Waiter did a good job but may have contributed to the food not being hot. Unsure.
Overall the service was good but food below average and since I was with business associates I did not want to make a bug deal of things.
Especially in Las Vegas you food and servise need to maintain a very high level of quality and service.
We booked a table for 3 a month ago at Envy after searching on the internet for "Best Easter Brunch in Las Vegas." A blurb for Envy's "Easter Brunch" looked great, & so did the photos of Envy. A few days before we left home, I went to the Envy website in order to send the brunch menu to our guest. But there was no longer an Easter Brunch in their "upcoming Events"! I searched it and saw "This event took place on April 12"! Easter was April 24th! The special Easter menu we had read was NOT being served on Easter, their "regular" brunch was to be served. We did go - it was NOT held in the intimate Envy, but in a bright, loud, crowded ballroom. Our reservations were at 2, they had already run out of many items with an hr.to go. Terrible.
We had such a good meal and it was amazing to be away from all the loud bells and whistles of the Strip. The steak was out-of-this world great. It doesnt get any better than this! The server was very infomative and was very willing to explain in great detail any question we had. We had a coupon and I didnt feel uncomfortable at all presenting it. My dad said the shrimp was the best he has ever had. My mom did not want to share anything off of her plate. I was so impressed with the assortment of sea salt.
Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and the recommended items. The fried calamari and shrimp appetizer was one of the best I've had (the breading was light and sauces were not too strong). My wife's seabass and my bone-in filet were both excellent and cooked perfectly. Overall we had a great dining experience!
Having not been a fan of what I call 'trough dining' this wonderful dining room was able to change my perspective on this type of dining completely. Beginning with cold Smoked Salmon with Capers and indulging in the large Shrimp and Crab with Cocktail Sauce, I found myself wishing that I was able to eat continuously for hours just so that I may be able to enjoy all that this fantastic Las Vegas destination had to offer. We found the Prime Rib with Horseradish a total winner even though Rare was not an option as far as doneness went. The classic Eggs Benedict had not experienced what most Bennies do on a steam table...the poached egg was still runny and hot and the Cheese Blintz was a total WOW! Can't wait to return to Vegas and Envy.
We were looking for a memorable last meal in Vegas for our business trip and did not find it here. All 6 of us ordered steaks and almost all were over-cooked (one plate was returned). Service was polite but not efficient. I had to go get the water jug and pour it myself. The espresso coffee was not drinkable and they did not know why (at least they did not charge us). The side dishes were quite good, but you don't go to a steakhouse for side dishes. Overall, not good and overpriced.
We are Las Vegas locals and have eaten in a lot of the finer restaurants in town. This was our first time to Envy to celebrate a birthday. It was beyond wonderful. The service was perfect. The plate display was beautiful. The food was delicious. We will definitely return. This is in our list of top 4 restaurants in Vegas now.
Business dinner with a group of 6. Hostesses were very attentitive to our table requests and Waiter was very good early in the service. The filets ordered were large and cooked well, but lacked moisture. The bone-in ribeyes were too thin and all (4) were overcooked. Waiter never checked back until plates were cleared from the table; not what I would expect for $80/head. One problem may be lack of competition for "good steaks" on the LV strip.
I loved everything about Envy from the moment we were greeted at the front door to when we left for the evening. The food was impeccable, the service perhaps the best I have ever had in Las Vegas, the spacing of the meal courses, the explanation by our waiter from the salt choices (oh yes!) to the menu selections. This was a great find. It is a bit pricey, but perfect for a special occasion. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
What an amazing find!!! Eating "off" the strip is such the way to go! The service was exceptional, Josh- was the best. The front hostess did a fabulous job- read my special comments and made the night perfect. The food was amazing. Was a perfect night for our celebration. I highly recommend this place and will be back when we visit VEGAS!
I went to the Sunday brunch. The entertainment was terrific and I like the decor but the food left a little something to be desired. The prime rib was obviously not prime, quite chewy. I am not really interested in the breakfast items. I would like to see a green salad of some sort and perhaps a vegetable other htan squash.
We celebrated our friends' anniversary here while visiting Las Vegas based on a lunch we had here a year or so ago. All at the table agreed that this was one of the best meals we've ever had. The service was fantastic all evening and they started us off with complimentary champange for the anniversary event which was a great touch! Both of our friends really enjoyed their spinach and caeser salads but we thought that we did even better with the rock shrimp and calamari appetizer. Both the sauces served with this dish were wonderful and it was hard to choose between the two.
All of our steaks were just fabulous and the Maker's Mark creamed corn was out of sight! All in all - just a great meal!
My wife and I recently celebrated her Birthday with a trip to Las Vegas. We've been coming to Vegas for 20 years and we were looking to try someplace different We checked out Envy online and booked a reservation. I'm glad we did. The food was excellent. The Truffle Reggiano fries lived up to previous rave reviews. The service was stellar. Ask for Todd, he'll take good care of you. Envy made my wife's birthday a very memorable one. It is pricey. But, the discount coupons that are available at many different sites lower the cost considerably. Well worth it. Highly recommended !!
We were pleasantly surprised by the contemporary and mondern ambiance and decor inside and outside the restaurant. The hostess was very friendly and attentive and offered us a choice of tables. The waiter was very patient and very accommodating. We ordered a drink that was not on the menu, and he managed to get it for us. Excellent food and presentation. We were also surprised by the extras such as three different varieties of seasoning salts, mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables that complemented our dinner entrees.
Went for Sunday Brunch. Good selection of breakfast and lunch options. All the champagne and wine you can drink for $29 was a great price. Also make your own bloody mary's were included in the price as well. Overall good value. Service could've been a little better, but it was pretty busy. The live music was great!
This was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had and although we did have to wait a little with reservations it was understandable seeing as it was Valentine's Day. That was the only downside to the whole experience. The price was excellent for the special and the food served was unbelievably awesome. Definitely someplace we would return to in the future.
it was great ,i usually do not order any meat at any restaurant i always prefer chicken ,but i ordered the valentine special with the steak it was to die for i loved the way it was cooked ,so tender so tasty ,the way it was presented i will definitely visit again .
Very impressed with Envy and had a great meal on a recent trip. A it off the strip, but we walked from Encore and it wasn't bad at all. Food was well prepared, and surprisingly good values on the extensive wine list. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The service was outstanding, our waiter recommended several items that we would not have tried otherwise and they were all very good. The steaks have a heavy char, if you don't like a lot of char this might not be the steakhouse for you. The menu is creative and there were some unique touches; they provide you with three different types of salt from around the world instead of just normal table salt.
