Entree was the perfect dinner. My boyfriend and I brought a bottle of champagne. Our waitress was so sweet, and opened the bottle and got us an ice bucket right away. The food was amazing. I order the duck and it was perfectly cooked. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the special of the day: spread lamb egg roll. It was good but nothing special. Definitely planning on going back.
First time here and I am a fan! Although very small and loud, the food and service made up for it! Had the $40 price fix... arugula salad perfect blend of ingredients and dressing. Scallops perfectly seared, moist and unbelievably flavorful! Splurged on fried Oreos and although didn’t taste like Oreos it was very delicious! We will be back for sure!
Not a busy night so the chef/owner cane out to speak with us! Such an awesome guy and delicious food!
Overall this was a lovely restaurant and dining experience. The food was outstanding and also presented nicely. We started off with the cheese platter then I had the veal and my boyfriend had the chicken. The service felt a bit rushed and our waitress did not smile but that’s okay. The ambiance and food made up for it.
We were disappointed that they were out of two menu options and the web site menu is not accurate so we were out of luck on a third option. The duck was very good but three of us ordered it rare and it was served medium (pink). The dessert were excellent - fried Oreo w/ice cream and the nutella cannoli. Next time I wouldn't go on a Sunday night and I'd call before going to check if the online menu is accurate.
Really wonderful. Highly recommend
Wonderful food. The server was gracious and attentive. Cozy atmosphere but a bit loud as expected on a Saturday night. Overall excellent.
I WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO A FRIEND. THE FOOD
WAS EXCELLENT. THE SERVICE WAS GREAT. iT WAS JUST A BIT NOISY.
Outstanding food and great service!! The kitchen produces perfectly cooked delicious food where the flavors really pop using fresh seasonal ingredients. We had large party - all dishes for our group were perfectly cooked and executed with flawless timing. Fantastic menu offering variety of choices including meat, fish, poultry and vegetables representing a good value with high quality. The kitchen seamlessly handled food allergies for several in our party. The restaurant runs like a well tuned engine - a real hit for Philly. We are looking forward to next visit!
I was here because my boyfriend came into town and I thought it would be special because I came here once the week before and was great. But EVERYTHING was under cooked and was an issue- the breading on the shrimp, the pasta, the dough for the fried Oreos was not cooked at all and by that time I thought this was a major health issue. How can you serve raw dough? This was absolutely disgusting and disappointing. When I told the waitress there was no “oh I’m sorry” it was a straight “let me get you another one”
We got the tasting menus and it was AMAZING! The seafood here is so tasty. A great date spot especially for byob!
The service was fantastic, and the food was orgasmic. The only issue was that we were placed right by the door, so I felt the cold. But, it's a small restaurant, so it's understandable, and the corner is perfect for a table of two.
A good new addition to our favorites list!
Diver scallops were top notch. Great byob spot on south street
Food and service were great and lived the byob. It is small and we had to wait for our reservation down the street.
Everything we had was absolutely delicious. We all went with the $40 or $50 prix fix menu which is a reasonably good value. We loved the BYOB aspect. The only drawback is that the tables are very close together so we kept bumping or getting bumped by people behind us. And the noise level is very loud. At times we had to shout to have a conversation for a table of 4.
Stopped in for dinner before attending an orchestra concert. The restaurant is charming, small and the seating is a little tight, but quaint and comfortable. As we didn't have too much time, I ordered from the prefix menu and my friend only ordered an entree. I chose the calamari, duck breast, and affogato, while my friend chose the monk fish. The grilled calamari was well prepared with a delicious sauce. Both the monk fish and seared duck breast were delightful and though we had to rush the dessert, it also delighted. In summary, the food was terrific, the service as first class. The seating is close when the restaurant fills up and the space gets a little loud. I enjoyed the evening and thought is a perfect set up for the concert.
Great food -friendly service - a bit noisy for conversations
Love Entree BYOB. Warning that it is VERY small inside and if anyone in your party is very tall, it will be a problem to fit at the table.
Didn't have the best table, but chef made up for it by accommodating my menu changes. Food very good and waitress mice.
The food and variety are very good. Price fixed went up to $40 or $50 p.p. For appetizer, entree and dessert so it’s not “cheap” by any means. They really rushed us Sat night- in and out of there in one hour. We like it here but I would have preferred a little more time between courses.
Love Entree have been many times. I was disappointed that one of the specials was 86'd before I was able to order (Veal/Lobster Special). However service was great and the fried oreos are phenomenal.
We came here for Valentine’s Day and were surprised to see a $75 prix fix menu. This was not advertised anywhere on opentable or the restaurant website. The most expensive fixed menu that Entree offers regularly is $50, so I’m not sure why this menu was so much more expensive for the same food. The food was prepared beforehand and refrigerated until served, so the plates were cold. Finally, at the end of the evening when clearing our table the waitress spilled a bowl of olive oil and vinegar all down my fiancé’s sleeve, ruining his shirt. The waitress didn’t even notice until I informed her of the spill. The restaurant did not provide us anything complimentary to make amends, so we were saddled with a $150 bill at the end for the worst dinner we’ve had in Philadelphia. We had been here before several times and loved our experience, but we won’t be back.
The prefix menu was great, the food had great flavor. The price was slightly higher than expected, but considering it was valentine’s day....was expected, even for a byob. The service was good; however, the waitress was accelerated, the experience felt rushed. Overall, the food, the restaurant and the atmosphere were pleasant.
Valentine's day is always overpriced, but $75/person is extortion for 3 mediocre courses. We didn't know that there was such a huge markup premium for the day and were less than impressed with the food and especially the price gouging.
Entree is a nice place where to have food curated in details, at you can bring your own wine, which helps the check. The food is good, there are few choices but they all have detail that makes them different from what you would do at home. Very noisy if you happen to have a group dinner next to you
Great neighborhood gem!!! We will definitely be back. We all enjoyed every course!!
Food was excellent and reasonably priced once we decided to share the price fixe menu. Tables were close together and it was a bit noisy, but warm and welcoming on a cold night.
My husband called the food "A bowl of seafood heavin!" The restaurant is very small but the food is very plentiful worth every dime. Service was great very attentive staff. We have already booked a reservation for Ebtree BYOB for Valentine's Day! We Highly recommend this restaurant!! Dont forget ur bottle of wine like I did.
Amazing food and service! One of our favorite BYO’s in the city!! We will definitely be back!
Amazing food as always! A great neighborhood gem that is love to frequent more
The food was very good but they crammed everyone in so I could barely breathe and it was so loud I had to shout to talk to the person next to me. I made a reservation for 5 people and they squeezed us into a table for four. We I asked the hostess for a bigger table she said no. Not acceptable for this kind of money. I will definitely NOT be going back to Entree, not will I recommend it to anyone. It ruined our night out and I had guests from out of town. You can not pay these kind of prices and screw up the experience of dining.
Such a delightful find! Tiny on space but big on great taste this neighborhood Gem is just Delish! It's a high energy close knit environment, and at the same time very enjoyable even if "Sardinian" (Think the tin! (: ) in space.
My companion had the Arugula salad that was perfectly dressed and delightfully balanced with sweet/bitter and salinity, I had the dragon shrimp with a glaze that had just the right heat. Her Monkfish won the entree prize over my chicken with lobster. The crustacean's tiny tail was way too overcooked, if attractively presented, and that took away from the overall pairing of bites with the outstanding sauce. Desserts included their fried oreo and Lemoncello cake, both good, the later clearly more elegant. Great service throughout the evening really made it a delight, we'll be back!
Food presentation- a feast for the eyes
Food taste - the layering of flavor- chef & owner really takes thought into how each ingredient complements the creation
Food Portion- perfect
Food $ - love the prefix and even a la carte
Special personal notes- owner/chef, Kevin. Came out to our table just to make sure what the special request of a guest. Polite and very accommodating.
Thank you, Kevin and your team. We will be returning.
Outstanding service and food! We will definitely be back!
This was a cute spot for a date night and a good value for restaurant week. I found some of the dishes to be more sparing than others, but that is the nature of more expensive dishes. The dessert was phenomenal, especially the limoncello cake. Service was very attentive, but we felt we couldn't just sit and enjoy the moment because we knew they were trying to turn tables quickly. We were in and out in an hour, which left us searching for another place to spend some time before calling it an evening. That felt annoying in the moment and would detract me from coming again unless I knew I didn't want to linger. However, it was a good experience overall.
I stumbled upon Entree BYOB during Philly restaurant week, their menu looked very appealing plus it's BYOB (win win). I was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious, everything that my friend and I ordered was phenomenal. The waiter was hilarious, very attentive, and friendly. All of the sauces that were on the food were delicious, made me want to ask for some to take home. Overall, I would definitely recommend it!
I guess the only problem here was that we went on restaurant week, and a very small restaurant turned into patron on patron packed and stacked so tight, that not only were you involved in the next tables conversations but if you dare needed to get up for any reason, so too did the neighboring tables. Very uncomfortable. Perhaps it’s better on not such a popular week? I would hope.
Service was attentive but lacking just the same because of the over crowding. For instance, once seated there was literally no way to even notify the waiter, without screaming, that we had a birthday at our table. So take it for what it is I guess. Still a bummer.
Now the food? Wow. Simply amazing. Honestly the grilled Heart of Romaine appetizer was so good, I literally did not want it to end. My girlfriend and her father both enjoyed the Wild Style Dragon Shrimp - perfect blend of heat and sweet.
The Tapenade Pistachio Crusted Branzino was made better by sitting on top of a zucchini pancake... so so good. My girlfriends Pork Tenderloin top with Crabmeat was an interesting pairing but was amazing good eating. Her father’s chicken plate was plentiful to the point where the back end of his meal was boxed and carted home.
Two fried Oreos with French vanilla ice cream were immediate home runs. Being Italian, I opted for the Nutella Creme Cannoli with Butterscotch Whipped Cream... again... why did it have to end?!?!
Overall, I’d definitely return and hopefully the conditions won’t be some extreme in terms of diners literally sitting on top of each other. The food was just too good not to give it another go!
Enjoy and Bon appétito!
Entree is one of our favorite restaurants in the city! It is tiny and sometimes noisy but overall the tasting menu is the way to go and it’s amazing! Would strongly recommend
