Entree BYOB Ratings and Reviews
Our table of 5 enjoyed our dinner and would go back. I personally loved the duck entree. The restaurant was good with allowing substitutions. Two caveats: It was very noisy, making conversation from one end of the table to the other very difficult . We requested separate checks and were assured that everything would be clearly demarcated. When the bill came we all figured out what we owed ( several times) and were informed that we still owed $18 dollars. It was too loud to work out what caused the discrepancy so some of our party paid extra. Also the entranceway was poorly lit and one of us fell down on a little step. The food must have been awfully good if we'd go back with all the problems I've enumerated. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful.
Great small space for intimate dining. And it's BYOB!
The food was excellent -- every dish was fresh and tasty and nicely plated. Our server (JT) was terrific -- helpful with suggestions, quick to bring us water and our meals, all done with a wry sense of humour.
The sole drawback was a large table of young women (likely a bachelorette party) that was insanely noisy. It was impossible to escape the din.
Love the food, love the staff (cooks, servers). We will be back.
Arrived on time and were seated immediately. Actually we had our choice of tables since it was a Wednesday evening at 6pm! Perfect time to go to dinner in the city if you want to have a conversation over dinner....
Waitress was sweet and very attentive. Food was outstanding! There were 4 of us and everything we ordered was a hit. Also, it is a BYOB that accepts credit cards and has no corkage fee. Love it. Our new favorite place.
As always, food and service were wonderful. Only complaint is that I reserved and confirmed the table by the window because it is a small space and my husband is 6'7" and feels badly when cramping other patrons. The only table that he fits in is the table by the window (this has nothing to do with his comfort - we always sit in the back of theaters, etc. so as to not intrude on other people's experiences). We arrived and were seated at another table. I asked about my confirmed reservation and was told that they needed to acommodate a party of 6. I'm not sure what that had to do with my reservation, but I wasn't happy. Of course, the party behind us arrived and they were extremely cramped and kept knocking into my husband's chair to try and find room that didn't exist. They weren't rude, but they were definitely uncomfortable. We usually avoid small places unless we can confirm a roomy table for everyone's enjoyment. If you don't have a physical need for special acommodations, this is a perfect restaurant.
It is such a cute restaurant! The chef came out to say hi! I had the special....cod over new england clam chowder...real chowder! so good. I was visiting my daughter who goes to Temple University and she enjoyed her dinner also to the max! The waitress, Kim, was on top of everything...very sweet. It's a fun, happy, very busy place. Don't forget to make a reservation. I highly recommend Entree.
Do not come to this restaurant for a quiet, intimate evening. It is a small, noisy restaurant
that is usually a packed house most nights. You will be bumping elbows with the neighboring tables, but that could be fun. The food is innovative and the portions are massive! Give it a try, just don't be surprised if you make new friends with the table next to you.
Excellent kitchen, fresh ingredients, well-conceived, well-seasoned and well-prepared cuisine. For our table, mainly seafood dishes, all excellent. Service very friendly and properly paced. Two nits--(1) no reason to intermittently clear a table of four when not all diners have finished, and (2) no reason to bring a check until it is requested when the room is almost empty. Will definitely return to this comfortable, casual, affordable BYOB in the future.
We (wife & I) chose Entree because we wanted a BYOB within walking distance. We decided not to bring any wine, had cocktails at home. We didn't know that Entree also offered a Prix Fixe dinner, but we chose dinners from the menu. The appetizer and meals were creative and delicious. The service was great.
This is a small place tucked away in the middle of a block on South Street. The interior is comfortable, well lit and, as is the case of many Philadelphia gems, cozy. Our first visit, we met our server Kim and her helper Rebecca who greeted us warmly and graciously. We were offered recommendations regarding the menu and the specials. Although we didn't try it, the filet mignon cheesesteak with Maine lobster on a fresh Philadelphia roll looked amazing. We asked about the Dragon shrimp and were given a sample of the sauces, one of which contained Scotch bonnet pepper that proved a bit too much for our taste buds; the sample was appreciated nonetheless. The calamari appetizer and the grilled Romaine set the stage for the entrées. The latter was the best I had ever ordered with a melange of flavors and textures. We decided to share the lamb lollipops and the Cornish hen. Both were excellent in their own way and the reduction sauces were perfect complements. For dessert, the cannoli was fresh and crunchy. Nothing worse than a soggy cannoli. The food was excellent, the experience courtesy of Kim and Rebecca outstanding and we will return with another bottle of wine for an anticipated and enjoyable evening. Kevin, chef owner, did come out to greet us and was very gracious to ask if we had enjoyed our experience. Indeed we did and thank you.
This is my third time at Entree BYOB restaurant. My first time here was last year during restaurant week and loved it so much came back again with my friend few months after. But I haven't been to Entree in a while and noticed that some things have changed when I went this year..such as the Menu and the table bread which I was a bit disappointed since I was really looking forward to like my previous experience here. Only reason why I would return is the service is absolutely AMAZING! The staff is super friendly and accommodating but wish they brought back some menu items like the ravioli and had the previous bread, not this plain white bread.
Four friends wanted to dine at a BYOB restaurant that had very good food. "Entree" absolutely filled the bill!
Yes, it is tiny with limited seating space, but this is more than compensated by the fabulous cuisine, and the excellent staff. Everyone was friendly and accommodating (we were 30 minutes late because of traffic issues, yet we were seated w/o hesitation). Each dish was carefully explained by our server, and still the food exceeded our expectations.
I think that the $40 and $50 prix fixe meals are a STEAL! On top of that, you can drink the wine that you brought!
The restaurant was not too busy on the Thursday that we visited, and I could see how easily it could become very noisy. Fortunately we did not encounter that issue.
Just consistent and hits a balance between fine flavors and heartiness. DIsh the other night was a lobster tail on a veal cutlet. Service is attentive and warm, and it's always a pleasure, especially on a nice night, to meet some friends and sit out.
We came at 5 PM, service was friendly and quick, which was important as we took the 3 course menu, and had only 1.5 h before a concert. We liked the menu and all dishes were surprising and rich variety in tastes. We loved the seared tuna, the duck and the escalope. Entree is not cheap, but also thanks to the BYOB the ultimate bill is good and with a pre-pick you know exactly what you can expect. It was quiet, but that can be because we were early and there were not many other people.
We had a great dining experience at Entrée BYOB. The food was exceptional and our server, Kim, was very attentive and had a infectious personality. The place was very cozy, but the diners seemed to adapt and actually, we had conversations with tables on our right and our left. I would definitely go here again and would love if it could be very soon.
What a great find for restaurant week! The pre-fixe menu (which they also do all year) provides a variety of great options. The bacon covered date was delicious, followed by a wonderful scallop option and the desert is unreal - the fried oreo, save the best for last! The restaurant is a small space, so I wouldn't suggest this spot for a large group.
