About Enterprise Fish Co. - Santa Monica
Built in 1917, the historic building now home to our Santa Monica restaurant was once a transfer station for the narrow-gauge Red Car line, Los Angeles' first mass transit system. It was later the repair house for the world-famous Pacific Ocean Park, home to the oldest wooden roller coaster west of the Mississippi. These days, we're still a stone's throw from Venice Beach, heart of where L.A. goes to play -- and eat. Also just a few blocks from the waterfront, our sister restaurant in Santa Barbara operates in a century-old brick building originally home to an industrial linen service for seaside hotels. While the Douglas fir floors, soaring ceilings, and glassed cupola have always been features of this historic structure, the sweeping arches facing State Street were added after much of the building crumbled during the 1925 Santa Barbara earthquake.

Enterprise Fish Co. - Santa Monica Ratings and Reviews
A couple friends and I visited the restaurant during Dine LA week and had an incredible time! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We all got the mixed seafood skewer with twice-baked potatoes and asparagus. We also tried the lobster bisque All really yummy!
I like this place but i have to admit DineLA menu little bit disappointed me. It had a great start with delicious appetizers and labster soup but sea bass was over cooked and super dry, and rice wasn’t cooked good enough. Desert was ok. I do recommend this place for weekend brunch, they have great happy hour. And oysters are delicious!
We have been coming to this restaurant for almost 25 years.....although the food quality is good, it seems that the portions have decreased over the years....they used to allow for 2 sides if you get a piece of fish, and now down to one, and that portion is small. But the food is good.
What used to be a great place to eat is now no more than mediocre. Drabby waiters, so-so food, which requires asking waiter for spices or anything to give it taste. Even though their prices have doubled, I would not mind paying it if only the service would pick up a notch and maybe they'd hire a decent chef for a change...
Had the black cod special ($33) which came with fragrant jasmine rice (and tasted a bit perfumey), green beans and a salad. Asked for extra miso-ginger glaze, but no complaints, but nothing to write home about (or return to the restaurant for). Service (Waiter Chris) was excellent. Bread is super yummy.
Alls great to eat at Enterprise Fish, a little disappointed in the timing of my meal. We order mussels as an app and our dinner salad came out prior. Then the mussels and before we could start on the mussels our entrees arrive. Needless to say the vegetables on the entree were cold by the time we were ready to eat . While I didn’t say anything at the time, we did mention it to our waitress when we were leaving. She did recognize the timing and apologized
Young manager must learn to smile, be courteous and responsive to customers' issues, such as "too cold, or drafty". Please turn heat on when needed or asked for, without having to repeat it a number of times. Waiters are good, but this guy should be taught to behave like a manager who cares.
Family get together of six. I still haven't figured out why restaurants always seem to show you the least desirable table first. Our group was led to back room where I felt as if we were placed in the garage or a church get together room. I requested that we be moved, and after a brief wait, we were moved to the main room, a far more festive location. This is not "fine dining" but a satisfying alternative at a good price point if you want to take the family out to something "more" without breaking the bank. That being said, everyone enjoyed themselves. Food was plentiful with leftovers for the next day.
We were so disappointed. Our first time there since they remodeled and changed the menu.
The restaurant is now modern but it looks more like a coffee shop. We did not like the new menu and the food was not like it was. Don't get the Caesar salad because you will get a heated, wilted wedge of lettuce with the fish on top. Hard to cut soft lettuce.
The server was sweet but very inexperienced. Its the restaurant's fault if they don't train, not the servers. She was very sweet and we felt bad for her.
There is a new chef and why change something that has been good for 40 years? We will never go back.
As always Enterprise is a good value for delicious food. They have recently remodeled and the restaurant looks great and updated. Lots of tvs in the bar area for a quasi sports bar feel, but not overwhelming.
Our waiter Kyle is always professional, friendly and on top of things.
It was easy to make a reservation and our table was ready when we arrived. They have a wide variety of cocktails, beer and wine to choose from. The Parmesan crusted Dover sole was exceptional. In addition the service was friendly and very efficient. We've always loved this restaurant and it never disappoints!
