About Enterprise Fish Co. - Santa Monica
Built in 1917, the historic building now home to our Santa Monica restaurant was once a transfer station for the narrow-gauge Red Car line, Los Angeles' first mass transit system. It was later the repair house for the world-famous Pacific Ocean Park, home to the oldest wooden roller coaster west of the Mississippi. These days, we're still a stone's throw from Venice Beach, heart of where L.A. goes to play -- and eat. Also just a few blocks from the waterfront, our sister restaurant in Santa Barbara operates in a century-old brick building originally home to an industrial linen service for seaside hotels. While the Douglas fir floors, soaring ceilings, and glassed cupola have always been features of this historic structure, the sweeping arches facing State Street were added after much of the building crumbled during the 1925 Santa Barbara earthquake.

It was easy to make a reservation and our table was ready when we arrived. They have a wide variety of cocktails, beer and wine to choose from. The Parmesan crusted Dover sole was exceptional. In addition the service was friendly and very efficient. We've always loved this restaurant and it never disappoints!
The service was superb from the time I walked in until I departed. The service that we received from the server Jeff was impeccable. I will always ask for him in the future. In addition, the food was excellent. The restaurant was clean from the inside to the outside.
I remember the good old days, when you offered all you can eat King Crab. Why not bring that back?
Some of the worst service I’ve ever had. Appetizers took forever. They were delivered to the wrong table so we waited even longer. Our entree orders were never taken so we had to get a manager and ended up leaving. Waiter was rude and argumentative. Will never return.
The menu is a lot shorter than it used to be. The written refusal to make any modifications is obnoxious. The $5 charge to split a plate is tacky. The place seemed like a sports bar during a World Series game. Not the restaurant it used to be, but the food is still excellent.
Four friends for a healthy dinner and watching the LA Dodger game, too! We all had Prawn Cocktails to start. Then Broiled Atlantic Salmon, Mesquite Grilled Seafood Caesar, Mesquite Grilled Chicken Caesar, and Cioppino. Fresh Coffee for dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was great.
The lobster special is an outstanding value. BUT, a seemingly small but significant complaint. The plates are too small for the lobster and sides! It makes eating the lobster messy and frustrating besides making it difficult to properly enjoy the legs and claws.
The lobsters are nice sized. No need to make them look bigger by serving them on an undersized plate.
We had the recommendation from our Free Ride driver in Santa Monica, when we asked about a good place for fish.....he was right! It was hard to choose what to eat....we will return there when we are back in the area. We really liked the outdoor seating, and our waitress Nichole was top notch!! Thank you.
We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Our waiter was rude and we could have had better food at Red Lobster. We asked our waiter what his favorite appetizers were and he mentioned the calamari, which we ordered. I asked him about the Brussels sprouts, to which eh replied, "That wasn't one of the dishes I recommended, but whatever." #rude
I ordered the Paloma cocktail which tasted like tequila and soda water. I sent it back. The calamari tasted like it came out of a box. We tried both clam chowders which tasted like they came from a can. We also tried the Lobster bisque which was inedible. The Brussels sprouts were bitter and we sent them back. I was so disgusted with the food I skipped dinner. My mom got the lobster which was decent and my dad got a parmesan-crusted fish which he couldn't even finish.
The ambiance of the restaurant was unappealing. A drunk man stumbled out of the restaurant when we entered. There were noisy children at the table next to us.
We honestly had the worst dinner we've ever had in LA at this restaurant and we won't ever be coming back.
At a friends get together for a lobster dinner we ordered the two pound lobsters at $69 each. When they were served they were waterlogged, salty and tasteless. You will never convince us that the lobsters were just cooked. Our server came by to ask if we we’re enjoying our dinners. We told him, no, they were the worst lobsters we had ever been served, he replied, “oh, sorry to hear that” and left. Next, the manager arrived and we explained how displeased and disappointed we were, he said he was sorry but hoped we enjoyed the rest of our dinners, salad and old over cooked baked potatoes! They never offered to replace our dinners with an alternative selection. However, we got a free dessert, carrot cake, for the table that was almost as bad as the lobsters. Who puts peanuts on a carrot cake?
We have all been coming to Enterprise Fish Company for years and on many occasions have ordered the lobster at market price and they were delicious and now all agree “they have seen us for the last time.” At $70 apiece we have a lot of other dining choices.
Enterprise has been there for many years. I haven't been for ages and was very pleasantly surprised. I had the blackened wild Salmon. It was delicious and properly cooked. They feature wild and sustainably caught seafood/fish. The dining room is spacious, comfortable and quiet enough for a conversation.
There is bar and it was really jumping when we were there.
