Enoteca Sociale continues to dazzle its patrons on a daily and nightly basis. It's a well-maintained virtue to keep a simple yet elegant wine list that captures the flavors of vineyards across the globe. Enoteca Sociale hand-selects the perfect wines, pairing them with Italian delicacies that arouse the senses and the appetite. Enoteca Sociale can't stay a secret, not with the raucous buzz the patrons and nightlife aficionados in the good city of Toronto have been making. Make an evening of it and find out for yourself.
Let the cool air kiss your cheek on the patio, while you pair provocative wines with traditional and innovative dishes alike, from the seared branzino to the lamb ragu pasta. Enoteca Sociale is in the business of collaboration, working with top notch wine and food in addition to the most important ingredient of all: you.
One of my favourite restaurants in the city
Enoteca sociale always gives you a reason to come back. The service is attentive, yet not overbearing. The staff is knowledgeable but not pretentious. The food has always been delicious and nothing on the menu has ever disappointed. This place is great if you want to spend a little more for a lovely evening. At the same time, the pastas are affordable and certainly worth the price. Highly recommended.
Love the quality of the food and the freshness of the ingredients.
Food was delicious a little noisy. One tip when ordering wine they have a taste size and a glass size I really meant to order the taste size and said glass without knowing this and ended up spending $38 on 2 glasses of wine when I thought it was $12 each, so watch out.
Enoteca Sociale is a gem. Not in your typical downtown location, it is worth finding as it is terrific on a number of fronts - quality of menu, efficient and knowledgeable service, energy/ambiance that is fun and friendly, and a good value for your dollar. Its definitely a "two thumbs up" experience.
We love this restaurant. The food is great and the service is wonderful - friendly and knowledgeable. The best thing in the world is to just let the chef feed you. You get the best of the best and its like they can read your minds - not too much just the right amount and at a nice pace that does not overwhelm.
I've come here several times over many years when I'm in Toronto but it seems to have become quite mediocre. In the beginning, it was a very special Italian wine bar but it has reverted to the mean.
Rather unassuming setting does well to keep the focus on the fantastic food. The team was accomodating and figured out a way to fit in a last minute 5th to our 4 person reso.
Well designed menu ensured there's something for everyone.
Cheese platter starter was delicious, generous and offered a range of cheeses that complemented each other, it just didn't feel very "Italian". The preserved tuna is not to be missed.
Smoked pasta and braised rabbit rigatoni were a hit at our table, we were still talking about it the next morning.
Will be going back very soon!
I enjoyed so much my diner at Enoteca!
Great people and great food!
I'll definitely go back soon!
Great food and ambience...we were in a group and shared the salumi, tuna and sausage, all of which were delicious. I had the bucatini for my main and I would definitely go back for it.
I would love to see them change up the menu more frequently and/or have some features but otherwise everything was great.
i loved this restaurant I went with a couple of family members the food was Devine and a waitress was lovely
The food was delicious, especially the raw beef/marrow. The pasta dishes were made perfectly and the rapini was an exceptional side. A friend picked the wine this time, but I normally like to ask the server to pair with the meals.
The service was outstanding even after putting up with our crazy requests.
Without hesitation would I recommend Enoteca Sociale for a wonderful dinner out.
Incredible tuna conserva!! I would offer it 100x more!
Pasta was cooked perfectly. They make their own house-made/cured meats.
One of the best restaurants I've been to in Toronto. Their food is absolutely delicious. The service is amazing! They take great care of you there - very warm people. I can't wait to go back. Never disappoints.
Everything was terrific when I went. Service, food, and wine. Decor is really nice, as well. The bread basket we got before the meal was unreal. That Red Fife sourdough bread could make a meal in itself. My appetizer special was delicious, and the striploin was perfectly cooked. I look forward to my next visit.
We had an excellent meal and wine, and our server was excellent. The apps were excellent (arancini, albacore tune conserva), the gnocci was superb (light clouds in an excellent sauce), and the steak, except for an inedible/uncuttable bit running through it, was very good.
As for the ambiance: We were in a cold spot next to the large windows on one of the coldest days of the year - not very comfortable. We asked to be moved between courses and there was no hesitation - all of our items were moved over quickly and we were warm again!
All things considered it was an excellent meal.
This is my 7th or 8th time at Enoteca and each time it gets better. Fantastic food and excellent service. Top Italian restaurant in the city.
by far the best service I have received at a restaurant. Every restaurant has friendly wait staff and the service is good, but here, it is exceptional. They have a good ratio of wait staff to the number of tables. I never got a chance to pour my own water or wine. The food is delicious as well. A great combination.
Enoteca always has amazing food, great service and a wonderful wine list including wines from Ontario! I have been there for dinner with friends, as well as enjoyed there beautiful room downstairs for larger parties!
This is my favourite place to go, have a great glass of wine and a yummy bowl of pasta. Never disappointed!
We moved to Toronto a few months ago from NYC, and we have been searching for a favorite Italian spot that rivals some of our beloved spots at home. We found it! From the bread and olive oil, to the salads, to the heavenly pastas...the food was perfect in every way. Simple dishes with the best ingredients, and our service was so warm and genuine.
Brava!!! We'll be back often.
The food is excellent here. Cheese platter had a great assortment of delicious cheeses along with fun accoutrements. Nothing better than fresh pasta and I highly recommend the dish with pecorino and pepper, simple yet delectable.
This restaurant is busy, we made a reservation and our table wasn't available until almost 30 minutes later. This is understandable as the meal is served slowly so that you can savour every bit of it. The wait staff is knowledgeable and never made us feel hurried. The great food is well worth the wait anyhow.
Only one complaint is the noise level. It's so loud when the restaurant is full (which is pretty much most of the time) that you can really only chat with the person next to you or yell loudly across the table.
Okay I loved the vibe and reception and superb attention to detail. Amazing food… solid wine list and superb coffee… Couldn't manage dessert… everything else was so satisfying who needs it right.
Things were perfect until the place filled up with a great crowd of enthusiastic diners… but with that came a noise level where conversation became … well… quite challenging and we needed to raise our voices far too much and a lot of extreme leaning toward one another to be effectively heard…
I find this to be exhausting after a couple of hours… such a shame given all else was amazing…
would I go back… yes… but as early as possible in the evening for an early dinner to avoid the sound intensity...
Food was spot on, perfect portions . Great pasta especially the agnolotti. Wonderful wine selection and we rarely eat desserts at restaurants but we couldn't say no to their sticky toffee.
The least expensive wine on the menu was 45 $. Given the location and the reasonably priced food, there should have been very good wines at 30 $ and perhaps, less. The appetizer of cured beef was sensational. Everything ordered was very good, although the squid-based pasta was largely pasta and very good spices with a shade of squid here and there. We expected several decent sized pieces of squid. That being said, we have recently spent a good deal of time in Italy so our scale of sea-food appreciation may be rather high. The service was superb.
One of Toronto's best restaurants. Simple, effective and great taste.
Knowledgeable staff with good understanding of the wine list, recommended the perfect wine for our budget. Food was amazing with the pasta cooked perfectly. Great vegetarian selection.
I was excited to try Enoteca as it's hugely popular and the sister restaurant to the famed Pizza Libretto. I will say, the lighting is perfect, that was nice.
But the decor is almost family diner-ish (but probably cost $1M to make it look that way), the food was salty for my pallet, and the service, while friendly, was a bit odd. The server did make a good wine recommendation and the wine list was very affordable for decent wine.
I think just given the buzz about this place, I expected more. Nothing "wrong" with it, just not that special.
Enoteca Sociale is a fantastic restaurant. The food is unpretentious, servers are knowledgeable, and the cheese-cave family dining experience is NOT to be missed by anyone who wants a lovely dining experience.
The food portions were too small, more like a lunch rather than a dinner.
Not enough space between tables and the tables for 2 were small, making it a challenge to accommodate the food/beverage items.
No tablecloths, bare wood, and not an elegant décor.
Wildly expensive wine selection, and who ever heard of charging $6 for a taste?? It was obvious that this restaurant relies on liquor profits and keeps entrée prices down by serving undersize portions.
Would not recommend or return.
A model of what a local neighbourhood trattoria should be. Solid service underpinned by authentic regional italian dishes with premium ingredients. Very reasonable and consistently good. Well done.
