We had great service, lighting is a bit too dark, but the food was good as well. No bad comments, i think we personally had higher expectations.
While this is a relatively small place, it's very noisy for the older generation who's hard of hearing, even with hearing aids on. The place was maybe half full on a recent Saturday night and my wife and I had trouble hearing each other, sitting next to each other. There's carpeting on most of the floor area but still..........
Would go there more often if not so noisy.
My daughter and I went to Enotecca Rossa for a girl's evening out. Everything we had was fabulous! We had the baked brie and the calamari as an appetizer and the portions were enough to be satisfying, but not so overwhelming that they ruin your appetite. For entrees, we had the ravioli with goat cheese, and the fettucine with lamb ragu. Again, everything was wonderful. The chocolate hazelnut dessert was amazing as well! We will definitely return! My only, very, very small issue was the presence of mushrooms in nearly every dish. I don't mind them, but several people I eat out with don't like mushrooms so their choices might be limited here.
This restaurant is close to home. Not too crowded if you go early. Food is very good. Pizza is excellent. Great wine selection plus full bar.
Our waitress/hostess was excellent- personable, professional and really took care of us. The only complaint is that the restaurant is pretty plain and so dark as you get to the back. Then you have a view of the area behind the counter.
This is my third time coming here, and it once again was a wonderful experience. The food was amazing, the staff was incredibly friendly, the atmosphere was cozy, and the date was great! :)
NIce place .... must have been end of Happy Hour as the first 30 min was very noisy. Great food and special desert for the birthday girl. Thank you
The linguini and risotto were very good. Our go to dish, the short rib ravioli, however was disappointing. The meat, rather than having that short rib texture and consistency was ground up into a pasty mess which really detracted from the dish.
Friendly neighborhood restaurant with a good selection of classic Italian dishes. Pizzas are fantastic. Couldn't ask for better service.
Truly delicious food!! WE loved the wine list as well.
We enjoyed the food and the service staff. We will go back!
I took my husband here for dinner recently. Food was fabulous but we couldn't hear each other speak. Also could barely hear the waiter. Love to come back but will avoid it during a Friday evening.
Very cozy and nice. The food was very good and we will be back.
Excellent service and timely / very well prepared food
Would return and recommend to others
Amazing. Always amazing.
We enjoyed our meal and service was very good. We like the menu selections and quality of food.
What makes our evaluation a 3 star is that the noise level is just unacceptable. One cannot hear the other person across the table without having to shout. This was not our first visit and we can attest that other visits have been just as loud. We just had forgotten the last visit.... The other negative for us is that food preparation is very fast and one has barely able to finish appetizer before meal is presented. You are not given time to enjoy your wine and meal. I guess the objective is to turn tables...
Maybe next time we think of Enoteca Rossa we will get take out....
Good atmosphere, friendly service and fast; menu choices a bit limited
As always, the food and service were excellent. The only difficulty was that night was very noisy and made a conversation at our table a bit more difficult. It's the acoustics of the building's materials and some very loud patrons excluding the wine tasters. Love the place.
The food is not good enough to make up for the poor service.
Yet another excellent meal. This evening we were able to sit at the bar and watch the Astros while enjoying an excellent meal. We were especially pleased to have Kylie as our server. She remembered our usual wine choice, but when we expressed interest in trying something new, she made and excellent recommendation. We also enjoyed chatting with our neighbors at the bar, who were first time patrons.
Enoteca Rossa remains our neighbor favorite and we'' be back soon.
The prime rib was wonderful! My husband had a seafood dish and he said it was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive although she was very busy! I would highly recommend this place for the food and service. The noise level however is high and made it hard for us to converse. It is also on the expensive side although very worth the price.
The food (when we got it) was very good but the service was the worst I've ever experienced. We had to keep flagging down waiters as our waitress was completely inattentive. We had to ask for water, drink orders, dinner order. Then, our friend had ordered the chicken parm. As she was eating the pasta included on the plate she found a piece of hard plastic (which was in her mouth!). We called a waiter over (not our own, she never noticed us) and showed them the problem. To the restaurant's credit, the chef came out and talked to our friend. He comped her meal (as he should have) and offered a free dessert. The terrible waitress put a real pall on the evening. We were there for 3 1/2 hours, not because we were taking our time but because our waitress was so attentive. Maybe she needs to look for another line of work. Even though the food is good I would not return because the service was so inadequate and frustrating.
The food and service are great and Brian is always fun to talk to about wine.
Incredible service! Food is absolutely delicious!! GREAT atmosphere!!
Wasn’t told about specials, overheard the table next to us. Slow service. Asked for no cheese, still got cheese. Asked for fresh pepper and was given a salt and pepper shaker, people next to us got the actual big pepper grinder to their table. Ugh.
Always a nice place for a leisurely meal --good food, service and quiet enough for conversation.
Service was slow and food was overpriced. We could have gotten the same meal at a high end restaurant and paid less. $42 for the fish special was surprising. For what we got and the small portion I would have expected it to be closer to $32. All that being said the food was good and the waitress was fine. I think the issue was the kitchen.
Always friendly and fun! Excellent wine selection and menu, awesome atmosphere - not too big, not too little. One of our favorite Houston restaurants!
Excellent food. Enjoyed eggplant parm and caprese salad
Food and service were excellent. The restauarant was full and so quiet noisy it was hard to hear others in my party. Noise level improved greatly as folks leftt.
We have eaten here before and it was wonderful. Saturday we ordered the $18 octopus salad. Previously
we had an entire tenticle, Saturday it was 6 very thinly sliced "bites" with fennel. WAY OVERPRICED.
We ordered the salmon, which came out undercooked, had to go through two wait staff to get cooked more, they did fix the problem, but very untimely to have to wait. Also, we asked for bread (everyone else got it without asking). She brought it, and the tiny biscuits (which we adored in the past) were
wet and soggy, and we did not get butter with it. This was not a $55 meal. We will not be returning.
My better 1/2 and I love this place, approachable wine list but/and the sommelier is legit. Not too stuffy but relaxed, great service and a decent variety.
Pizza was delicious as well as the salmon. A little noisy for a date night, but great for a group of friends. All the desserts were fantastic. Will be back!
Great food and excellent service but really noisy and our reservation was at 8pm! Aren't there any quiet restaurants anymore?
The food wasn't as expected. We ordered the lamb chops (were absolutely plain and dry) and the red snapper (was dry).
The scallops were good though.
This is a relatively pricy place and you expect the food to be no less than good. It's ok that one dish is not according to our expectations, but both is too much indeed.
Octopus portion was tiny for the money. Pizzas, seafood pasta, salads were great.
We love Enoteca Rossa. The food is delicious and the service is very friendly, polite and attentive. Our server on a few past occasions, Jules, is certainly a jewel and goes out of her way to keep us happy and satisfied. Highly recommend this quaint neighborhood gem for a wonderful dining experience!
They have the most delicious chicken parmigiana I’ve ever tasted. My husband also says the same. Actually, everything we’ve tried there is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Julia the manager is very personable, helpful and pleasant. She makes you feel very well taken care of, as does the rest of the wait staff. This is my new favorite Italian restaurant.
Great food! Ordered the octopus with fennel and then the burrata salad to start. Both were fantastic and I didn’t want to share! I ordered the linguini and clams, very very good - great flavor! Just wish it was a bit more saucy. My friend got the seafood pasta, another delicious option and my BF got the chicken parm - one of the best in Houston (were from NYC). We ordered the tiramisu and creme brûlée would definitely go back and order everything again!
This was our second and last visit. The first visit was equally as poor. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Service was terrible.
