No room for improvement. After a few visits the food quality and service are consistent. It's hard to find anything to criticize about the food. Server is always available and checking but never hovering or annoying; helpful and engaged but always understated.
Very accommodating for dietary restrictions. Lots of flavor, great balance. Fresh, unique, creative and satisfying. And a great range of ingredients and flavors. To be honest I'd almost expect to pay more for food of this quality.
In every respect - food, service, ambiance, menu choices, wine, bar, etc they exceed expectations and then, somehow, the overall experience feels like more than the sum of its parts.
Now I've only been here three times and it would take more visits to lock in a guarantee of consistency. But I've been to other restaurants which would be the direct competitors to Eno Vino and caught them on an "off" night. It can happen to the best. My gut tells me this is least likely to happen at Eno.
It was late on a weeknight and I saw a manager was available so I complimented and thanked her for the accommodations made for my dietary restrictions. It turned out that lady is the general manager. She was gracious with her time, had a very lovely and sweet disposition was and running a great show.
It was very busy and crowded due to a party so it wasn't easy to squeeze between some chairs on the way to our table. But once seated we didn't feel crowded and we were able to have a private conversation. The chatter level blocked out the music but it wasn't any nuisance. That's the closest I can come up with for "needs improvement" but at that point I'd be getting pretty picky. Because, as I said, we had plenty of room and privacy once at our table.
I'm really not into wine, so really not fluent in that language. My dinner guest is relatively well informed. Our server had no problem talking easily with both of us at the same time and making it look easy.
My new favorite restaurant in Madison. One of the best meals and evenings I can rememver in a long time. The food was amazing. The staff were in a class of their own. The setting and decor is perfect. Just two contrasting comments- it is popular. Therefore: it can be loud, it can be crowded, and parking can fill up fast.
We loved the new decor and enjoyed the BBQ prawns along with the Osso Bucco pork. The new desserts are also delicious. We tried the Ancho brownie and pear tart. We would recommend both! Thanks Eno for the keeping the new decor cozy!
Everything was perfect, as always. Food, wine, service are all top notch.
Great service and wonderful food.
Always love going to Eno Vino
Honestly kind of disappointed. We went here for our anniversary dinner, and while the food was pretty good (I recommend the seared tuna, but the crab cakes were a let down) and the wine list was nice, the ambiance was non-existent in the dining room area. First of all, SO DRAFTY! They placed us by the door initially, and as they don't have a double door to catch the chilly WI air (not smart...), there was a terrible freezing breeze. We asked to move farther in to the dining room, and while it was still drafty, it wasn't as bad as by the door. We watched as 3 more couples asked to move from that same table we were initially at as well! Clearly it's an issue. It was also not nice to be able to see in to the kitchen - they have no door, so you can see in very clearly to where they are cleaning dishes and all. Not romantic or appealing. In short, the food was decent, but overpriced for what it is. The wine list had nice easy-to-drink selections, but nothing special or spectacularly interesting. The ambiance was pretty poor in the dining room (to be fair, the bar area did look cozier). The service was really lovely, though! Just a huge bummer about the drafty, boring and off-putting dining room.
Jon took great care of us very knowledgeable, and helpful. He also made terrific recommendations. The food is a great value, and delicious.
Most dishes were extremely salty. Eno Vino could lower the sodium levels and fat levels and the place would still be as busy as it is now. Maybe even more.
Everything was pretty good except our waitress. She took quit a while to give us menus, then just as long to take our drink order. Our food was mostly delivered by other wait staff, whom we wished would have been our waitress or waiter. We will go back, but to the downtown Eno Vino. We don’t want to take a chance on getting the same waitress. Very slow & lacking a personality.
Our dining experience was a complete delight. The staff was very professional and helpful. Definitely returning soon.
