Engine Company No 3
Service was very good. Food was nice. Coffee was lacking in flavor heat maybe need to clean machines ? I would have to suggest a divider of some sort in front of bathrooms. Nothing like getting the toilet table. Every time door opens can see toilet. The door opened about every 5 min.
Everything was delicious! Our server Babs was outstanding. We will definitely be back soon.
Amazing breakfast... excellent coffee
Best brunch spot in town! Peter Sandroni is a genius!
Excellent food & drinks. Would recommend making a reservation for brunch. Usually very busy.
Cool atmosphere. Loved the decorations. Waitress was great (Emily). Food was good.
Sunday brunch - Variety of choices above average. Quality of food was excellent. Restaurant was nearly full and a bit noisy. Waitress was helpful and knew the menu. Would recommend to others.
Our server was so out going and personable. The food was great and we enjoyed our visit.
I thought I was going to this awesome place with a great brunch menu. But it was just meh. The place was clean the service was prompt but the menu was a bit limited and the only thing that keeps the experience from seeming cheap is the prices.
The service was wonderful
Loved it and we will be back!! Great food, hip scene
Pancakes, omelettes and French toast are great, but it's their non traditional dishes that really stand out. Best brunch in the city.
Although the hostess stand was quite unorganized and not very welcoming, we ended up having an outstanding waitress who was very knowledgeable and offered spot on service. Definitely would try again as the menu offered a wide variety of interesting selections.
Enjoyed the atmosphere.
The table we sat at was wobbly though.
Waitress was great .
Food was good .
Good experience until we were asked to move from our table after our meal. We were told other people were waiting for the seats. It was confusing as other tables and booths were open.
Great drinks, breakfast and service. Always love the quiche!!
Engine Company No. 3 is very consistent in serving fresh, regionally-sourced, contemporary spins on old classics, with a global takes on each dish. Delicious and highly recommended!
Went when they weren't busy, which was more enjoyable. Great service, not-so-great food.
Wonderful staff and food was AMAZING! We went for brunch and their holiday drinks were the best I have ever had.
It was very nice. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
Engine Company #3 is an amazing place to have breakfast, brunch, or lunch. It uses all regionally-sourced food items and puts a creative and delicious spin on old-favorites. Its menu is innovative and always fresh. I'd highly recommend it!!
Seated promptly. Knowledgeable and friendly waitstaff. Delicious food came promptly. No feeling of being rushed to order or to vacate the table after eating. Definitely will return!
I’ve been wanting to check this place out for quite a while and it did not disappoint. The menu was diverse and the food was excellent.
Enjoyed Sunday brunch--two adults and two children. Monkey bread was a big hit. The menu offered many interesting and tempting choices. We were each very happy with our selections.
Our group of five celebrated a birthday at EC3 during weekend brunch. The ambience was unique, quality of food was wonderful, and flavors danced in our mouths. The pulled pork benedict was our favorite dish! We will be back very soon and recommend the experience to all foodies!
We raised chickens this year and sell fresh eggs. We used the chicken egg money to pick a good restaurant while my daughter was home from college. Chickens took us out for brunch. We thought the freshness and local farming theme was perfect. Love the place. Would go back anytime. We thought it would be fun to have a fire station pole to exit. :). Server awesome. Food great. Worth our 30 min drive.
Four of us and all were impressed and happy with the place, the food, the service and the prices.
Quiche was served cold. Pear mimosa was great. Breakfast pastry was so-so. Service was friendly.
Really top notch!
Took a friend for her first visit to Engine Company No. 3 to celebrate her retirement. Delightful experience. Looking forward to coming back to try more tasty menu items.
A wonderful location for a fantastic breakfast... you know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day... I had the meat-lover's omelette, which was packed with deliciousness of HOMEMADE(!!!) chorizo, onions and a little bit of cheddar... phenomenal! The side was fried red potatoes and a fantastic cup of coffee . A perfect breakfast for a growing (wider) boy to start the day.
I gave Engine Co. three stars because the food was fenominal but the staff was far short of 5 stars. We made reservations over a week early because it’s definitely not a walk-in type of place. My husband and I arrived 10 minutes early for our 11 am reservation. The hostess reacted like we broke some sort of rule and asked first asked us how long we planned on staying (which I thought was odd, and rude), and then asked us to sit at the bar to wait despite the open tables in the dining room. We sat at the bar closest to the door since we’ve never been to Engine Company before. We had removed our jackets and gotten comfortable before the bartender looked at us confused and asked if we were waiting for a table. We said we had reservations and we were asked to sit at the bar to wait. She instructed us to go upstairs to the other bar like that was something we should’ve already known. We took our money off the bar feeling kind of alienated at this point - I told my husband I wanted to leave, but he insisted we try the food to give a fair review. We walked up the stairs to the second bar where we sat down and ordered drinks. The (rather un-personable) bartender handed my husband an empty cup and showed him where the coffee was just 5 ft from the bar. He was annoyed that he had to get up a second time in 5 minutes. By the time he sat down next to me with his coffee, the host found us and told us a table was ready... I was a little annoyed that we went through all that trouble because we were 10 minutes early for our reservation. After we were seated, the experience was pleasant. The food is obviously what makes the restaurant so popular. We were impressed with the food and our waitress was very friendly. The pretentious staff is what knocked a 5 star down to a 3. We most likely will not return. We can get much friendlier service and equally delicious food anywhere in Milwaukee.
Food was excellent. Good variety. Definitely will return.
My husband won first place in the “Who ordered the best brunch” contest with the Smoked Trout Benedict. I got to try a forkful and it was outstanding! The eggs were perfect and the sauce was so delicious. The chorizo that came with my entree came a close second. I don’t think it was house made but it was fabulous. I forgot to mention that our server (I don’t know her name) was terrific — knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.
French toast was underdone (runny, not custard-like) but cassoulet was excellent
The food was absolutely outstanding and I love the atmosphere. The only downside was the service - we waited at least half an hour before our waitress took our order.
First time there, staff and food was very good. Reservations are needed and they will advise you when they need the table and you need to vacate. Alternate sitting area upstairs that worked well in this situation. Will definitely go again.
Great brunch location - luckily took reservations as the wait can be long. Rainy and sat under the skylight which leaked a bit. Not your typical "meat and potatoes" place.
Clever reuse of a fire station. Food was very good , but portions are small, only one egg with order, no jelly for toast offered, asked for it and surprised to see charge for it on bill.
