Very disappointing. I go to this place a lot. Unfortunately that night got the worst service possible. The restaurant was over crowded which ruins the experience for people. They sat me down squeezing me in right next to another table, even when I made reservations. Having in mind that most of the staff knows me because I am a regular, they gave me 1 single menu, and after sitting for 15min never got service. Decided to get up my table and leave. If you don't have enough staff, do not overbook your tables. Makes people think that you're about the money but no customer service. I do not enjoy being almost on the same table WITH strangers and listening to their drunk conversations. I love this place but that night was a mess. Give people that make reservations priority when it comes down to sitting. Privacy is important. This is not a club, it's a restaurant.
I hate leaving negative comments about a place but my woman and I were pretty disappointed last Saturday evening. The sushi was excellent, very fresh and high quality, so no complaints there. But the place was too cold (A/C was cranked way high), and the noise level was too loud to have a conversation even at the sushi bar. Service was weak too, and slow... it felt very chaotic. One couple left after a few minutes since a server never even came for a drink order. Given the wealth of great sushi places in L.A., you're better off going to Kiwami or Sugarfish.
Good food. Fast service.
Good quality sushi in a busy environment. The severs were very busy and it was difficult to get their attention. The food was delivered very quickly. The Agedashi Tofu was great and my friend really enjoyed the Salmon sashimi.
I love this place. Staff is professional, friendly, attentive, and really it makes you feel welcomed. Food is phenomenal and I love that there's variety.
Thy did not have our open table reservations which resulted in a long wait time to be seated.
One of my favorite neighborhood spots. I love the garlic edamame and spicy tuna on crispy rice.
Wonderful evening. Everything Perfect Food delicious staff fruendly Ambiente Fine
We came here to celebrate my niece's 21st birthday. Really liked the atmosphere, the service efficient and very nice. The portions were plentiful, fresh and delicious. The bar looked inviting and had some people clearly here on dates. There was a TV where you could watch the ball game but it wasn't obtrusive. They even served my niece, the birthday girl, a delicious gooey chocolate cake a la mode for no additional charge.OA was a great experience. I would definitely come here again and I highly recommend it.
Food was good as was service
En Sushi is always solid. Excellent lunch specials, quality fish and kind staff are a given here. Highly recommend En Sushi.
Very friendly environment from the nice UCLA student at the front desk to the servers. The food was excellent - Sushi was yummy! My first time here and I will be back!
Got seated right away. Attentive staff and great food! We ordered the caterpillar roll, baked scallop roll and king cobra roll...all delicious!
En sushi is the perfect place to meet a friend and chat. Black cod handrail is the best!
Great food. Gr at service
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant and I will not visit again due to the fact that it serves Blue Fin tuna. Aren't the En Sushi chefs aware that this fish has been horrifically overfished and cannot possibly rebuild its population if we keep eating it this way? I think they are, but don't care. Too bad because the food was good and affordable. Get rid of the Blue Fin on your menu and I will return numerous times.
The food was great. I enjoyed the clam miso soup, spicy garlic edamame, and a couple different rolls (don't recall which ones). Their menu options had a lot of tasty roll combinations so I look forward to going back and trying some others.
Food was delicious, however the service was not great. Had to wait for 30minutes just to get water. it could have been a little under staffed so I will go there again.
they did have a great selection of fresh fish and they also have a full bar.
This place is always a pleasant experience. Everyone is always friendly! Excellent food and value.
We really like En Sushi and come here regularly. This time however the service was not good and they forgot one of our plates and even brought the bill before they brought the dish. We had to explain that we were still missing a plate and we had already asked the server for it. However we all have bad days and we will continue coming here.
Excellent sushi great presentation and so fresh, don't bother ordering the beef terraki the meat was so tough couldn't even eat it other than that a great place with a good vibe.
Very fresh fish and the sashimi portion was good
It always feels like they are short one server lately. No longer a dedicated greeter. Food is still good, overall experience would benefit for a little more support.
We go to En Sushi almost once a week. It's definitely one of my favorite happy hours. I love to sit at the bar because Damien makes perfect drinks and is a wonderful presence. The sushi is fresh and well prepared and very reasonably priced. We make it special occasion at times and just getting our sushi fix other times. Highly recommended!
Great food! Loved the rolls. Very fresh. Staff was friendly.
The food was good, the servers were always somewhere else
Took over 30 min to order food. Waited after that. People who came after us had their food at least 10 min ahead of our party( there were 2 people in our party). Waited another 25 min to get food and was told by a server 'we are very busy'. So, we left without having any food.
Bad place and bad service.
It's a little too pricey during regular hours, but the late-night happy hour (starting at 9:30pm on Thursdays and Sundays) is amazing, and makes it totally worth the wait. The sushi is excellent. Service is fine. Parking can be tricky, but if you circle a few times, you'll find something. Spicy tuna on crispy rice, shrimp tempura hand roll, and all the sashimi dishes are all really fantastic.
for the discerning sushi lover there is En Sushi in West Los Angeles. Long a neighborhood favorite this excellent restaurant deserves praise and more praise for its delectable dishes and excellent prices! It's a fit for all
Enjoyed starting our family's new, New Year's Eve tradition on Dec 31. 2013 at En Sushi....Lunch. Delicious, fresh sushi, engaging staff.
Haven't been to En Sushi in awhile and realized they must be under new management. The restaurant looked the same inside but they have a new menu.We ordered dinners: Chicken teriyaki, Beef teriyaki and Grilled rib eye and spicy tuna roll. Got our drinks right away. After awhile the miso soup and salad came. I finally told the waitress to cancel our sushi since it never arrived. Then the entrees came. The beef dishes were on a sizzling platter and looked great. My daughter ate a potato and burned her mouth. The grilled rib eye was extremely overcooked-actually stuck to the metal platter to the point where you couldn't pull it away. The grilled eggplant skin was so tough. They didn't charge for the rib eye. Should have ordered sushi.
We always go to En Sushi for their Happy Hour, which is from 5 to 7 pm. The prices and quality are unbeatable. The staff is very nice and attentive. The restaurant itself is modern and has a lively bar as well.
First I must say that I strongly dislike seafood. However, this night was not about me; this night was for my husband's birthday. He is a lover of sushi. We had vegetable tempura...which was good, but, I can't say that I would order it again. We also had something similar to chicken potstickers which was delicious! My husband ordered edamame...which is what it is. I ordered the beef teriyaki which was very flavorful, but was a bit fatty and made chewing some portions undesireable. My husband had a good selection of sushi. He had eel, spider rolls, california rolls, and tuna. Overall, he was very pleased with the freshness of the fish. However, he did note that the spider roll was a bit different than he is accustomed- it had sprouts.
The problem isn't En Sushi, it's this service.
You blew the reservation and got the incorrect time. :(
Love En Sushi- always ask for kartoon as your server
They must have been short staffed - our service was quite slow and 3 items we ordered came out wrong. The "seared" tuna came out un-seared so we had to wait for the chef to prepare a new one, and a cucumber salad took 20 minutes to get to our table. One roll that specified "shrimp" inside, was actually shrimp tempura which I would not have ordered had I known. Food was tasty and fresh though, but don't think I will go back.
delicious suchi, and a great variety
Excellent selection of rolls. Would recommend the sashimi...very fresh. The building looks plain from the outside, but inside the resturant is comfortable with a very welcoming contemporary design. Overall great food and ambiance. I would go back!
