Greeted by someone who assumed we were looking for the bathroom?!? Then when I pointed out that we had an Open Table reservation for four, she guided us to a table for two. Once we got that straightened out a server immediately came over and asked if we were ready to order? We had been sitting for less than one minute. We ordered a few minutes later and tow of our three apps came shortly after, dumplings and spring rolls which ok. The third app came, chicken in lettuce wrap, came ten minutes later after reminding the server. After a while two of our mains came. After a fairly long wait and reminders, one other main came. After another five or ten minutes, the final main came. Needless to say I would suggest you avoid.

We don’t get an opportunity to eat Thai very often and since we were enjoying the day in LA, we figured we would give it a try given most of the reviews we good. We enjoyed the food and the great service and hope to in the near future enjoy it again. I recommend this restaurant.

Emporium Thai rocks! Thai food at its best, sometimes a bit inconsistent (pad thai) but outstanding overall dishes (Tom Kha, Pad Woo Sen, Panang and asst'd curries). We enjoy the range and diverse offerings; flavors are authentic and servers are awesome, even if they get a little behind. Friendly, gracious, inviting hosts. . . .really like this place.

Love it. Every time we're there, we're happy. I'd rather order carryout from here and drive to get it than get delivery from a closer restaurant.

A group of us traveled to Emporium Thai Cuisine and enjoyed the Dine out LA menu along with other options. The rating scale for spicy/hot is from 1-8. I was the only one who ordered a 4 all other were a 3 or 1. The 4 was hot, and I greatly enjoy hot, but this was a bit too hot, next time I would order a 3 so that I could taste everything! Great wine list too!

Despite being full they only had one waitress on staff for part of the night. She also had to manage the phone for take-out orders. Everything was delicious, but the service was rather slow.

Made reservations on OpenTable and drove across town on a rainy night. When I got there was told that they don't honor open table reservations. So no table and my group was forced to find something else last minute. The staff clearly knows this is an ongoing issue and didn't care. You'd think someone would bother to cancel their account. Horrible experience. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I've been looking for a good, spicy Thai restaurant on the Westside and I've found it! It is operated by the same family that runs Jitlada, an exceptionally spicy, crowded Thai restaurant in Hollywood. The food here is also very flavorful and spicy and the service was very helpful in explaining the restaurant's specialties and the degree of spice that one should order (it is on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of heat). I will definitely go there again!

Comfortable ambiance. Food was good with fresh ingredients but not especially inspired. Service was friendly if a bit slipshod - typical of restaurants in the area that use UCLA students. Overall, it's a good value and one of the few places in the area without deafening music and noise, so I'll be back.

Went with a group of four ladies, one of whom fears spiciness, so we ordered everything "medium". Taking into consideration that, therefore, everything needed to be spiced up, the food was excellent. We ordered four entrees, all of which were tasty and large. Nothing extraordinary, but definitely worth repeating. We also ordered two desserts, which everyone but me enjoyed - Thai doughnuts and mango sticky rice. Atmosphere is pleasant and only slightly too noisy; service was reasonably attentive and speedy. Parking was a bit of a problem, but we lucked out and found street spots.

Emporium Thai Cuisine is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in this area because you can tell they use high-quality ingredients and all their dishes have such great, bold flavors. This is the second time we've been there and we love it. It's a small intimate place that is big on flavor. The Thai Iced Tea is really good but the Thai Basil Chicken Pad Kra Pow was great. Everything is made-to-order and fresh and they aren't stingy with the amount of meat and veggies they add to dishes!

This is a wonderful little family-run restaurant. The food is excellent, much better than the standard student fare that you find in Westwood. Can't wait to return to experience more of the menu.

Thai Emporium is one of those restaurants where everything looks so good that you feel like you want to come back the next night and try another bunch of dishes. It is excellent Thai food. When we ordered the waitress made sure to let us know that space he was Thai spicy so we ordered everything on the mild side. I think next time we'll ask for it a bit spicier. We started with the green papaya salad which was awesome. For our main course we had the special curry chicken which is a recipe that has bee started with the green papaya salad which was awesome. For our main course we had the special curry chicken which is a recipe that has been in their family for many years. It was a coconut-based sauce that was extremely delicious. We also had green mussel soup which was delicious. The broth was unbelievably tasty and the mussels were good size and perfectly cooked. The only slightly disappointing dish, ironically, was the Pad Thai. I found the noodles to be a little bit mushy – maybe slightly overcooked. Very tasty though. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes.

Rated as one of the top 100 Thai restaurants in the nation and the best Thai in Westwood. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the reputation. It was good but when you are expecting more, it is disappointing. The restaurant is small so you feel a bit cramped although the tables are far enough apart that you do not feel like you are right up beside your neighbor. The service was friendly and good.

Service is ok, but taste is bad. We ordered three items recommended from the menu, all tasted poorly. I wonder what the rest of the menu will taste like. The salad is not vegetable, it is deep fried leaves. The chicken in the curry has no taste. The beef was overcooked.

I came in with two friends. We got here about 20 minutes before the kitchen closed. We were able to order before they closed the kitchen. The food was still great! I would consider returning. They were slightly pushy during our experience, so try to arrive about an hour before they close to avoid that.

My friend is vegetarian (no eggs, no fish sauce). There is a vegetarian section on the menu, and the owner and staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to ensure we had an outstanding dining experience. We greatly enjoyed the food, including the mango salad and the sticky rice with mango, and the ambience.

We shared chicken satay to start which we enjoyed. For mains I chose a one of the Thai curries- it was really nice and quite hot even though it was rated as three which is average ( you can choose the level of hotness on a scale of 1-10). The food was all delicious and nicely presented. The only slight niggle was that there was a long wait between both of us receiving our mains-we would have preferred if they had both arrived at the same time. The server was friendly and helpful when we were choosing our dishes. We had a relaxing time here.

There are 2 salads I really enjoy at Emporium Thai - the ripe mango salad with peanuts, veggies and a light, tart dressing and the morning glory salad with tempura fried morning glory, shrimp, cilantro and a light, tart dressing. The sweetened sticky rice with coconut sorbet is also quite nice.

This was one of the worst Thai restaurants I have eaten in. The service was deficient. We ordered 4 main dishes, and two arrived 20 minutes later than the first two. I asked for chopsticks twice and never received them.
The food was not the standard Thai cuisine and was disappointing to boot. Only one of the 4 dishes ordered was very good. Even though we asked for mild rather than spicy the food was too spicy.

For some reason the speaker was playing somewhat annoying rather than soothing music. All in all the experience was disappointing in comparison to the run of the mill Thai restaurant.

In general, the food was good. Service was excellent. Ambiance was nice.

Food -

I really enjoyed the recommended 'Crying Tiger Beef'. Beef was cooked just right and the sauces were flavourful [and quite spicy]. If the 'Pad Prik King' [pork belly] was as good as Crying Tiger Beef, this would warrant an easy 4 stars. The pork belly was cooked perfectly, but the flavour of the disk was fairly imbalanced. It was overbearingly sweet and sauce covered most of the plate. Dessert [Fried Banana with Coconut Ice Cream] was pretty good. Nothing spectacular though.

Service -

Great service. $$$ service for $$ food. Not bad at all.

Cost & Portion Size -

Price is reasonable for the quality of the food, but portions are a bit small.

While this is not a huge restaurant John the manager happily accommodated my party of 13 and set up a beautiful long table. Coming from the East coast, I agreed to make arrangements for our group knowing we had vegans, vegetarians and meatarians in our group! Everyone was thrilled with the choices, food was delicious and the service was warm, friendly and prompt. We had dishes from their family recipe of Southern Curry to more traditional soups and Pad Thai...again delicious. The portions were generous, the ingredients were fresh and it was a fabulous dining experience that made all 13 of us happy even though we had vastly different dining requests.

I know that "not too shabby" isn't exactly the best review, but for West LA, having a reliable Thai place is a pretty good thing. I'm impressed with the service at this place. The coconut milk soup was only so so. The appetizers were friend and oily. But the wine selections were perfect for Thai options and the coconut mango rice dessert was one of the best I've had in LA. So you take the good, you take the so-so, and it's not too shabby. The manager is very very nice. They aim to please there.

The food was not as good as expected. The list of food they offered for dine LA was very limited. I ordered meat and my wife ordered chicken curry. Sadly, the meat was not tender and I had to struggle with it even while using a knife. The curry also wasn't as tasteful as compared to other Thai restaurants. They were surely overpriced.
It also gave us the notion that dine LA was overrated.

Went during Restaurant Week. Just as before, the food was nicely prepared. Started with the Mango Salad with Shrimp and Peanuts. Main course was Green Curry Chicken. Waitress asked how spicy I wanted it and I said not spicy at all. It was delivered quite spicy, but nicely flavored so I just grinned and bared it while wiping my nose. The final course was a lovely coconut sorbet. I believe they poured sweet coconut cream over it. I will definitely return.

Good Pre-Theater Thai food for before the Geffen Theater. Friendly service. They have a range of heat for their dishes on a numbered scale. When one dish came out too spicy, they happily replaced it w/ a more mild version. I will eat here again!
