Literally an Emporio, the restaurant will sell a superior selection of quality Italian provisions offering Italian and local cheesees, artisanal and house cured charcuterie, raw bar, fritti, wood-fired pizzas, home made pastas and traditional Roman entrees. The menu concept is far ranging and flexible, allowing clients to design a meal suitable for their palette and their price point. In addition to traditional dining service, other options include a glass of wine with antipasti, a family style meal at a communal table or a pizza and prosecco break. Emporio, which means “local grocery store” in Italian is offering authentic Roman cuisine with an international flair.

Traveled here from west coast, seeing old friends after many years away!!!
This is always my “go to” restaurant, it’s always delicious!!!
It was a nice place! Service was really fast and it was delicious food. It was quite loud, but you could tell the energy was happy and exciting! A fun place to be, with a very pretty ambiance!
My dining partner is gluten-free, we ordered the gluten-free pizza. It definitely was contaminated with gluten and she was horribly sick. Terrible.
I’ve been coming to emporio for years. It’s been a special spot for me and my partner. We’ve come here for anniversaries and dinner with friends and just to have a seat at the bar. While the food is consistently good, the ambiance has changed a lot since our last visit (prior to covid). I remember the space being very intimate and not too noisy, but this time it felt like a beer hall. I took my family here since they were visiting the city and we could barely hold a conversation. It felt like we had to rush through dinner in order to get a reprieve from the loud dining room space. I was extremely surprised by this. Service was not as good as it usually is either. They didn’t bring my brother a refill on his drink until after the dinner was over and they could have been more attentive. I also found the waiter quite dismissive. I complained about the noise level once to him and he said he would tell the manager but no change was attempted or apology conveyed. He also didn’t really seem to pay much attention to our table. In fairness, it seemed like the restaurant was understaffed. In light of this, I doubt we will be making a return to emporio.
Food was delicious and staff very attentive!
Croquettes were outstanding and pizza and meatballs were great.
Amazing birthday dinner for my sister’s 30th! They made it so special, gave us the table we wanted and presented the most delicious tiramisu for dessert!
The food was BELLISIMA! So delicious, every dish. Love
this spot and will definitely be back☺️
Wonderful brick and wood soft surroudings. But the food is the star. Every dish is delicious, well seasoned.
I’ve been going to this restaurant for many years, and I’ve always loved it. Last night was quite disappointing. I need to take the group of six people and it took over 30 minutes to get a drink water if you get our night started. We had three different waiters All pleasant, however the service was not seamless. I have to understand the teacher post pandemic times and that it’s difficult getting stuff right now, So I have to give it a pass.
We ordered the duck and a steak, both which were overcooked, two of our guests ordered the chicken which was massive in size, hence not as tender as I recall. However I will go back in the near future in hopes that there been improvements.
Nice setting tasty food. Large space in soho.
The ambiance was great. Natural light came in from an overhead window. However, we waited over 40 minutes for our main courses to come out. Then, they charged $30 instead of the list price of $22 for two of the meals.
Very nice ambience, and the food is good but MUCH too salty. The squid ink paccheri was rubbery but the taste was good though overwhelmed by salt. The burrata ravioli with porcini also quite good but much too salty. Kale salad outstanding, heirloom tomato appetizer good but not terribly eventful. Affogato dessert was quite good as well. Service was good at first then they ignored us and we were among the only diners. Go figure.
Every dish was incredible— fresh, top-notch ingredients.
One of my favorite restaurants in NYC!
I go with every friend and family member who comes to town.
Best gluten free pizza in nyc!!! Excellent dishes overall and nice wine list. Highly recommend for casual and great vibes
Unbelievable. All the food was delicious and wait staff friendly.
Good wine and food - the Squid ink pasta was amazing!
Loving it since years & best meatballs ever.
This is one of my kids’ favorite Italian restaurant. We had early Mother’s Day dinner with my mom in law. Food was excellent. Service was efficient. We were very happy with the experience.
The staff is great and food delicious. The outside dinning is a little cramped. There is a nice skylight lit back eating area that will be great once most of us are vaccinated.
Great service and wine recommendation to complement the delectable food we know so well! Always a great meal here!
Great as always! One of the top spots for Italian in Manhattan
I have to change my review as it's now been a couple of times I went there and was rushed to eat to the point where you can't relax and enjoy your dinner.
If it was a fast food joint I would get it but this absolutely isn't.
Beware that your reservation is for only 1 hour and a half... that's completely inappropriate for a restaurant trying to serve a quality meal.
The staff really makes you feel that you have to hurry. Extremely uncomfortable.
Had the most fantastic birthday dinner for my boyfriend. Party of 10 was accommodated with quick, helpful, and amazing service. The ambiance of the restaurant is second to none. Not to mention, every plate we got was incredible! Highly recommend Emporio for any occasion. We’ve been there with just a party of 2. Same result, super happy!
Picked this place based on good online reviews and honestly I'm scratching my head. While the service and ambience were solid the food was pretty blah...not bad, just completely unremarkable. Pastas were barely average and the margherita pizza was worse than a store bought frozen...the sauce was nearly tasteless. I appreciate how hard the past year has been for restaurants, that's why I go out or order take out almost every night but sorry, I won't be coming back to Emporio.
We had a reservation at 5:30 and told us we had to leave the table for 7pm. That's a ridiculously short amount of time to enjoy a meal on a weekend. 2 hours should be the bear minimum.
Our appetizer special was delicious, and the gluten free pizza was good although not great. Our octopus was way too chewy and filled with sand (or whatever was causing gritty bites) and they took it back to their kitchen and instead of acknowledging the fact they tried to tell me it was how it was supposed to be (although I've had octopus there before and it definitely wasn't like that; and I have octopus often in other restaurants too). They didn't charge us for it but I thought their reaction was not good customer service.
Overall a good dinner especially given the asparagus special which was sensational which really saved the day.
Pizza is to die for!
Great as usual. Nice to be back. Fairly empty though due to COVID, but good for social distancing.
Food was pretty good. Artichoke in the starter was not good. Very mushy and not fresh. Host and server/manager were very rude. They wanted us to wait 20 min for a table we had reserved. Anything we suggested was shut down. They were very rude. Our waitress was very sweet though.
Amazing atmosphere and food!
Such a great place. A beautiful space, super attentive and friendly staff, and an amazing menu. Their cacio e pepe is my favorite in the city.
Was great! Fantastic service, good food menu and drinks. Bloody Mary’s were awesome , a little spicy, but good!
I’m a huge fan of Aurora in Williamsburg, so when I found out the same owners also have a restaurant in Soho I was so down to try it out!!
Overall it’s a very aesthetically pleasing restaurant. Very cute date spot. The food was okay, I like the menu in Aurora better. They still have the octopus cooked to perfection though! I tried the radicchio salad with blood orange and it was okay honestly, a bit underwhelming, my friend got calamari, she liked it.
The service was definitely lacking though, it was just the beginning of the night and the server already seemed kind of over it and almost annoyed. I ordered casamigos reposado on the rocks and she brought me a clear drink, so I asked her if it was reposado and she said that they didn’t have repo, they had only blanco and anejo. Okay excuse me what? Is it too high maintenance of me to expect you to give me this info BEFORE you go ahead and assume what I want to drink instead and serve me that drink??? I do think that’s rude and extremely unprofessional. That’s not really how it works. I ended up drinking whatever she served me although I really wanted anejo! It kind of ruined it for me a bit, I hope the service will improve, otherwise great spot.
Sitting outside for lunch, a warmer beautiful day in Feb was great. All the food we samples was very good, and you could eat healthy here if you must but the Pizza and Calamari also looked very good on the other table!
My gf and I have come here often for little date nights and we love it! the burrata and the pizzas omg such a good portion for 1-2 any day honestly. cute ambiance and nice drink selection
The service was okay, nothing special or great but nothing terrible. The food was just awful. Too salty to even eat
The ambience and the attentions were just amazing. Great spot for having a date.
It was amazing - love the service and food. Every dish is great. Plus, they always have great music (very underrated). Good ambiance - love the back room sun and the front bar.
Always a lovely experience. The food is fantastic and the service is wonderful! A+
