Literally an Emporio, the restaurant will sell a superior selection of quality Italian provisions offering Italian and local cheesees, artisanal and house cured charcuterie, raw bar, fritti, wood-fired pizzas, home made pastas and traditional Roman entrees. The menu concept is far ranging and flexible, allowing clients to design a meal suitable for their palette and their price point. In addition to traditional dining service, other options include a glass of wine with antipasti, a family style meal at a communal table or a pizza and prosecco break. Emporio, which means “local grocery store” in Italian is offering authentic Roman cuisine with an international flair.

Food & service excellent. However when I asked for a piece of bread since our prosciutto/burrata appetizer only had 3 pieces of bread & we were four people , the waiter asked someone & they said it wasn’t possible. I then asked if I could purchase a bread basket , they said they didn’t have it. Fine. Unusual for an Italian restaurant not to offer bread either free or purchased but after ordering apps, 4 main courses (the amazing chicken) & two $81 bottles of Chianti for a total of $438.96, I think it’s unconscionable that they couldn’t give me one single small piece of bread so the 4th person could share some of the burrata appetizer. Despite the excellent chicken , I won’t go back. Le Bilboquet has wonderful chicken also accompanied by fabulous French bread. My family is Italian-American. I think my experience should be embarrassing to the Emporio owners.
The pizza is delicious and the sangria is superb!!
Gray neighborhood place with a fun vibe. Food is always good.
Amazing dining experience across the board.
Still my favorite restaurant in the city. Love the ambience and the location right on Mott Street. Don’t hesitate to book a reservation here.
Best brick oven pizza I’ve ever had in New York . Classic margarita. Tiramisu was to die for also
Saturday night got really crowded so we switched to takeout after a glass of wine. Food is fantastic, as always.
First time here. Pizza was perfect! Pasta and fish were delicious! Excellent food! Nice wine list. In spite of how ridiculously busy they were our waiter was always there when needed. We will be back.
Great atmosphere, super professional and friendly service, good food and wine
I went to Emporio for a late lunch, and had the most wonderful meal. The kale and Brussels sprouts salad was fresh and tasty. The buffalina pizza was out of this world. (The thin crust and mozzarella were amazing.) And the chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream was an absolute delight. My server Madalina was simply the best server ever. She knew the menu items inside out and helped me make the best choices possible. I appreciated how friendly and gracious she was. The prices are also extremely reasonable. I can't wait to go back.
Incredible environment, lighting, service and most importantly food!
Friendly attentive staff. Quality of food is great, with nice size portions. We’ll prices and great people watching.
Loved the ambiance as it truly felt like you were transported to Italy when eating there! Everything from the appetizers to our main course were cooked to perfection and tasted homemade. I was also surprised that despite how crowded it was the night we went the noise level was very low and you didn’t have to scream to have people hear at your table.
We had a great dinner at Emporio. The wood fired pizza had this amazing crust and the croquettes are always fabulous. Really cute neighborhood place!
Terrific good and waitstaff. Loved the glass roof/ceiling. Got loud in the back as the night progressed, not sure if acoustic fix is a possible remedy. Would definitely return!
Nice local flavor
I absolutely love Emporio, and it is my go-to business meal for folks willing to travel a bit from the office. The prices are extremely fair, and the food is all excellent. Standouts include the kale salad and the prosciutto and burrata appetizer (which is an incredibly generous portion). Additionally, they have a wonderful affogato, for which I always stop by if I’m in the area. The service is also totally stellar. I’ve always had attentive and friendly service. Great choice for all occasions!
We had the BEST experience there on Tuesday 10/12, I’m not sure our servers name but she was a 12/10!!!! Food was delicious and the drinks were to die for! Overall just a really great experience to have and would recommend this place to anyone!
Neighborhood gem, tucked away on Mott St.
We went for brunch and the flatbread and breakfast pizza were amazing.
Great restaurant. Wonderful staff!
This GOTTA READ TILL THE END !!!!!
Resturant have amazing and delicious food, my growls friend and I we come here every other weekend, never had a problem !!
However 2 weeks ago we had multiple issue, we got the wrong drinks, wrong pizza and we found other things on our food, we told our waitress she apologized and gave us brand new dish !
Perfectly no problem. We leave we asked for that SAME dish to be boxed and to go,, plus the lit was not secured by the time I get home all my plate was split in the bag !! (Mind u I live across the street from the Resturant) and I carried the bag they way they handle it to me, I called the Resturant and told them what happen, they apologized and told me not worry about it, next week when you come will give you complementary pasta,
Two weeks later we went with my girls, we told the waiter oh we were told next time u come, you will get a a pasta on the house, he responded I can’t do that ! And we were like we not surging over $30 pasta. It’s gets all worst when I call the next morning I spoke to the manger (Mano) he tells me o can’t do anything about it, u should’ve said something, (which we did) and I told her I don’t want to say anything the first time since I love the place and the food, he tells me that’s not my problem, I can’t do anything, maybe you should carried it right so the food doesn’t spell, on top of that he just hung up the phone on me, I called again (right away) the host said oh he jumped into a meeting !
The moral of the story is it’s not the $30 pasta, it’s the promise was made last time, it’s how he handle it as manger ! And how u responded to a customer service problem.
I’m good blogger and trust me this will not pass since it’s not acceptable ! Not going to that place anymore because the manger has just some nasty attitude!!
Never thought I would say that but here I am !!
It was the perfect place for a Sunday brunch in crowded Soho. It was all perfectly spaced. We sat in the back and the lighting coming from the skylight was beautiful. We had the burrata, salads, pizza, and pasta. It was alll delicious with reasonable prices. We will be going back for dinner soon.
Date night and its wonderful
Loved the food and ambiance here. Will definitely be coming back!!
Disappointed! I made a reservation for 2 and when we got to the restaurant (on time) we were given a table in the hallway, by the bathrooms.
I asked if it’d be possible to change it and the only option available was outside, which I then asked for. Well, they gave us another terrible table on the sidewalk, where there was barely any light and was away from other customers and the warm restaurant ambience…the staff was not friendly at all when we asked to change the table for the first time, by the way! I even suggested we wouldn’t mind waiting for a better table, but the answer was a straight no.
We felt disappointed and decided to leave. Those tables should be for walk in customers and not the ones who actually made reservations.
We were told immediately on arrival that the meter was ticking and we had to be out in 1hr and 45mins! Of course beyond anyone's control, things as usual take longer than the rigid time schedule allowed. GM/Host/Fascist dose not have how to run a smooth evening such as, making relaxed pleasant evening for their guest who are spending a fair amount. We have been going there for years, and have recommended Emporio to friends. Who have patronized them for years also. We were celebrating my husbands Birthday, ordered deserts and coffees then were told after 5mins or more that the GM would not allow them to serve it! Was the future business Emporio will loose worth freeing the table for the receipts of that one party??????????? Kenneth Freeman
Wonderful ambience, great food, good wine advice....A bit loud, but fun. Chef seemed to want to shoo us out at 10:15pm, which was gauche and not appreciated after an expensive meal.
Pasta came out cold. Waiter wasn’t happy when we asked for it to be warmed up.
Love this restaurant! Our favorite in the city
outstanding food, ambiance, and service for 10+ years! love this spot.
Loved loved loved. The staff was super friendly and accommodating even though our reservation was so late. The food was amazing from start to finish and the ambiance was very cute for a date night.
First time dinning there on a Saturday at 5pm, excellent fish, I had the branzino whole fish. Servings are a bit on the smaller side but delicious and savory. Appetizers were actually quite generous. The cocktails were ok, a bit mild. I would definitely recommend and return.
Beautiful ambiance and the food was delicious! Came here for a date night and it was the perfect spot
Great food (a bit pricey). Great service and ambience. One of my favorites.
Great seating inside and out.
Menu was a tad pricey but the pasta was fresh and flavorful. Very worth it.
Old fashions however came with ice cubes and not a solid cube which is a turn off in a bourbon drinkers eyes.
I also wanted to add shrimp to my pasta and was not able to which I found odd.
Other than that great menu. And experience.
Great food. We were 5 people and every dish was outstanding. We are going back again tonight. Best food we have had so far in NY.
Our waiter was pretty inattentive which hurt the experience. Cocktails took 15 minutes… One of our starters never came… We waited 10 minutes just for a wine list upon receiving our food and had to cancel the bottle because we finished our meals.
I like the ambience of this place but I tried their pizza not for the first time and it was just cold. The other time was barely warm and it’d be really good pizza served hot. Cocktails were average too. It could be much better place with a bit more effort.
They put the 5 of us at a really small table and were rude when we asked to move. They also took a long time in between courses.
