Literally an Emporio, the restaurant will sell a superior selection of quality Italian provisions offering Italian and local cheese, artisanal and house cured charcuterie, raw bar, fritti, wood-fired pizzas, home made pasta plates and traditional Roman entrees. The menu concept is far ranging and flexible, allowing clients to design a meal suitable for their palette and their price point. In addition to traditional dining service, other options include a glass of wine with antipasti, a family style meal at a communal table or a pizza and prosecco break. Emporio, which means “local grocery store” in Italian, will offer Roman fare, wine and retail selections.
What Insiders Are Saying
Emporio is an Italian place in Soho, but it isn’t trendy. It’s just a solid place to get pasta with a group.
As always our time at Emporio was wonderful! The food is beautifully prepared without being overwhelmed by seasoning or oil .. the staff is very accommodating, the atmosphere conducive to a fun evening :)
A bit loud at times but that’s part of the fun ! Thank you for another wonderful experience !
Great food and chef Paul and his staff fabulous!
Delicios food, nice ambiance. I went with my husband and a friend and we all enjoyed our meal. We had a wonderful lobster risotto.
Located in NoLita area of NYC, this gem of a restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but there is bright, inner covered courtyard area that is just a delightful place to have a meal. It is a few blocks from the very touristy Little Italy area where touts are constantly trying to pull you into their restaurant.
I've eaten here twice. Really enjoyed the grilled octopus and lobster salad appetizers, but the star I think was the squid ink pasta chock full of shrimp and lump crabmeat. My friend really enjoyed the prosciutto eggs Benedict laid on top of burrata and toasted brioche bread. We'll be back!!!
Lovely space (amazing skylight!). Food was delicious but entrees took a very long time to arrive. Noise level also made it difficult to speak at a comfortable level. Overall great food but not sure we’ll return
Weak food and poor service will never work over time....
I had the prosciutto and burrata appetizer, rigatoni alla Norcina, and tiramisu. Everything I ate was excellent and the service was fantastic.
Food was wonderful - our group tried a broad array of the pizzas. Mine was the Emporio Margarita - delicious! Loved the crust. You can prob split a pie, though most of us ordered our own. The salads also looked delicious. Service was really friendly as well, and they made the extra effort to bring a birthday treat to someone in our group. Laid back for a Friday lunch hour though I'd recommend making a reservation if you have a larger group. The natural light that shines through in the back patio was very lovely.
Our local go to.
Good food and very friendly staff. Free prosecco as a birthday surprise was much appreciated!
Super delicious Italian food in a very cozy setting.
Great food and great service. Adorable place. GF pizza is the best according to my GF niece. Ask to sit in the back where there is a glass ceiling with lots of light. Definitely going back!
Very nice place with delicious mediterranean food. The food quality is good, but prices are quite high. The service is not at the level of the price. Why? Well, it is supposed to be an italian restaurant, however no oil, salt and pepper is provided at the table. Waitresses not spontaneous.
Emporio is excellent!
The food was great, the wine was nice, the crowd was energetic. The main problems were the noise level and the tight seating area.
Food is always consistently delicious - cause and energetic : great place to bring for dates or group of friends to have an authentic soho New York vibe !
Had the best time at Emporio! The food is delicious and the staff is so friendly.
Always great to go to Emporio for a good and genuine meal in a lovely environment.
Everything was very well done - food; service; atmosphere.
The food is always a hit and the service is just as good. I have not been there for dinner, only for lunch, but the wait time for the food is incredibly fast and the food that comes out of that pizza oven/ kitchen is out of this world!
Really enjoyed my experience. The staff were really friendly and the food was delicious.
one of my fav spots in NYC. I would consider myself a regular, great food, good quality, nice staff.
We come to NYC often, and found Emporio because we were staying nearby. It is a great restaurant in Soho with a wonderful, seasonal Italian menu. Great winelist, service and food. HIghly recommend, along with family and friends.
Great Fire oven cooked pizzas
Great food, highly recommend sitting in the front of the restaurant as the back is super loud.
The staff were friendly, the food was tasty and the back room with the skylight was awesome.
I have been going to Emporio since I did a Nolita tour with Annie 5 years ago. Each time I visit NY it is a must.
For the first time, the pizza wasn’t as good as always, the crust wasn’t crispy and the pasta was undercooked.
I like al dente pasta but this wasn’t the case. The flavor of the sauce was great though. It was my fault that I didn’t give it back to the kitchen.
I hope this is an exception and Emporio continues to be an excellent place to keep going and going.
I have been to Emporio a few times. Food is constantly delicious. This time I had Eggs Benedict with Prosciutto and Buratta ... an amazing twist on the traditional. The back room is lovely, bright with a huge skylight ... I could sit here and sip vino all afternoon.
Restaurant is both chilled & lively. Food delectable- every selection! Exceptional pizza. Prefer front room with windows & less noisy. Waiter sweet but overextended. Hostess swooped in to cover- charming!
Pizza was very delicious! I defenetly recommend Magaritha. Very nice ambiance.
My wife and I visited for our last night in NYC. Great setting with fantastic food. Everything we had was top notch. You will not be disappointed.
Very nice manager who was helpful and insightful about menu. Cozy atmosphere. Large group was seated immediately and nice table under high ceiling sky light. A few group tables. Cozy small tables around edges.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. This will definitely be a restaurant we return to the next time we are in NY.
Delicious fresh made pasta with robust, flavorful sauces. Small but varied wine list. Warm service.
Everything was great, including the server! I only mentioned the service was a little slow as a large group came in at the same time ( tasting menu group). Great food and Iovely ambience, look forward to coming back!
A staple on Mott Street, great food, friendly staff and nice people at the bar.
Booked a table for date night w/wifey. Arrived several minutes early but luckily seated right away. Entire staff was polite/welcoming. Wait staff was on point. Food was delish. Ambiance was perfect for a date. Highly recommend...we'll definitely return!
One of my favorite NYC haunts!
Make a point to pop in every time I’m in the city.
