I love empire but bad experience, horrible service and the sushi tasted like it had been sitting out. We ate around 9:45 pm and the quality definitely suffered. I have been there many times and have had a great experience however do not plan on coming back during times where the kitchen clearly isnt looking to produce good food.
Great place for special events like wedding anniversaries, birthdays, graduations etc., good food, great service and upbeat ambience ! Highly recommend!!
Once again Empire was great. Had a reservation and sat at the counter watching the open kitchen. My wife and I had the rice bites and shrimp shu mai for appetizers Both were very good. My wife had the chicken wing appetizer and a side of bok choy for her meal. Enough to take some home for lunch the next day. I had the sa-cha stir fry chicken. Everything was excellent as was the service.
Rude management. I had made reservation for 7. One of my guests was work and couldn't come. 2 guests got stuck in a meeting and said they may join a little later. When 4 of remaining people told the staff at the reception to give us a table for 6, she flatly refused. She said we can only give you table for the number of people who are here. Since I was with my customers, I didn't want to create a scene and just took a table for 4. Within 30 minutes my other two guests arrived. We were still having drinks, no snack or dinner was served, so I requested us to be moved to a table for 6, but they refused to accommodate my request. My other two guests had to sit at the bar and I have to go back and forth between the two groups. It was a embarrassment for me and my customers too.
Being in service industry this is the last thing Empire staff should have made us go through.
Also the service was horrible. They forgot to serve one snack we ordered, took the sushi that one guest to some other table and forgot about it.
The restaurant itself is nice but overall we had very bad experience. I feel they have more than enough business to messing up a few customers is not something they are concerned about.
The server was sub par but everything else was great.
Amazing dining. Very tasty. Great ambiance and the ability to see the kitchen from almost the entire dining area.
Lived the atmosphere and all the fun songs. The food was okay and kind of pricey but it’s a very fun spot overall. Would probably return for the lounge or pork belly buns.
Dinner was great! I wish our waiter was more excited to be serving us and asked when we sat down who's birthday we were celebrating.
The food at empire was fantastic. They were perfect to share as a group of friends eating dinner. Service was quick and attentive.
Wonderful food and service but very noisy.
Went to their happy hour on Wednesdays, which is essentially all you can eat of select rolls. Given this place is quite pricey the value of this deal is great.
Great service, food came out super quick!
Such a unique restaurant with outstanding food. The sushi was amazing. Always love coming here.
Was at the restaurant on Saturday with a group of friends from Montreal, the food was excellent. We were served by Vicky who was very professional and gave an awesome service...looking forward to returning in the near future.
AMAZING. will be back! Get the sushi cupcakes you won't regret it!
Good sushi. We went on Wednesday and it was all you can eat!! Great service atmosphere and drinks. Didn’t stay for the night life but I heard it’s great. Awesome bar too!
Can’t wait to go back it was delicious ! And very cool ambiance.
Great restaurant for large groups- food tasty and made to taste. Food arrives quickly so don’t order all courses at same time. Excellent service. Great bar scene
We've eaten at Empire several times. The food is delicious, but this time, one of the dishes we ordered seemed to have been forgotten until nearly the end of the meal. We had to keep asking where our black cod dish was! That was surprising. But, overall, food was very good.
Empire is a wonderful restaurant with a very lively atmosphere! We first had delicious cocktails at the bar and then made our way to our table. The restaurant has beautiful decor and the different areas blend seamlessly, even though they are quite different. We ordered sushi rolls and the crab and lobster Rangoon and our meal came so quickly that we thought perhaps they had the wrong table. The food was all beyond delicious and each one of us were completely impressed! Several tables had the hollowed out watermelon “scorpion bowls” and everyone appeared to be having a great time. The atmosphere in the bar was really fun, with well-dressed people of all ages and lively music.
We had some great food at a reasonable price, the service was excellent in a decent environment with excellent music.
Amazing, high end experience! Loved it! We will definitely return!
Red Lantern is the better option. Atmosphere and Food is much better.
We had a terrific experience plus we celebrated a birthday!
Our server, Anton, made the meal memorable. He was amazing. I have been to other restaurants owned by this group and it has always been very good.
Celebrate my 36th birthday with my family during my Boston’s stay ,
Visiting from Tijuana, Mexico
Loved Empire - came on all you can eat sushi night (!!) and for $29 had a ton of delicious sushi. Our waiter was awesome and the place had great ambiance. Easy walk from the convention center, and would definitely return for the next conference I am in town for!
After reading all the reviews I was excited to go to Empire for dinner. However, my experience was very disappointing. I waited nearly 30 minutes to be asked if I'd like something to drink. Many Servers were handling their tables but had blinders on when it came to looking to see if anyone new that arrived needed service.
When I finally got the attention of a serve her, the experience was mixed. Starters and main course came out at the same time. It seemed that most of the dishes suffered from lack of seasoning. They were nearly bland and especially the noodles dish that I ordered. Over all I thought it was rather expensive the quality of the food and the service that was received (not received).
Nice atmosphere for a date. Fantastic menu. We had the salt & pepper calamari and black cod entree. Delish! Worth a visit for your special evening.
You're paying for the ambiance; it's a very cool decor and vibe. However the food is just so-so, and definitely not worth the price ($20 for middling lo mein that could be beat any day by walking a few blocks to Chinatown). However, the experience itself means I will probably go again - but this time just for drinks and apps, not a full meal!
We recently dined here for my wife’s birthday. The apps were great and we opted to eat “tapas” style and order a bunch of sides rather than a courses meal. Great idea. The pork potstickers were some of the best I’ve had👌 Will definitely be returning soon.
Appetizers are great.....
Service is great....
Awesome food, great bar area and great service. We were there really early due to an appointment we needed to get to, so the place was empty, hence it was quiet and ambiance not so great. I have been on a Saturday night and the place is outstanding. Busy and lively and solid bar scene.
Food was good and Evan was very accommodating by taking off an app that wasn’t so great. I was upset that the Server told us they didn’t have sweet soy and the Server Assistant brought me the Sweet Soy and a duck sauce because she wasn’t sure what I was asking for. That was really nice of her. We noted in our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and nobody acknowledged that. Then, the table that sat next to us got a birthday dessert as soon as they sat down. What?
Great meal, great service, fun cocktails, and great gluten free options - I can't say enough great things about our dining experience. I'll be back!
Fantastic Food, limited wine options
I enjoyed myself i will be back soon
We had a mix of sashimi, rolls, and entrees. Very expensive but the sashimi was good quality and the service was great. Entree-wise, the food was pretty mediocre. Rolls had extras which took away from the taste and quality (i.e. rice krispies on the rolls). I'd give the restaurant another try though based on the sashimi.
Amazing interior but the food is over priced and under seasoned. Great for cocktails.
Too loud and noisy in main room to have a conversation--music should be softer or turned off.
Also was very disappointed in the bar to be told that I needed to surrender my credit card when we ordered! To allow one's credit card to be taken to a back room is inviting information stealing--there are numerous reports of someone in the back being lured into dishonesty and copying Credit card information for nefarious purposes. It only takes one, in spite of your best intentions and honesty. First rule of restaurant finances--monitor and double check your receipts and stock. So why are you so casual with my credit card? I was told "It's our policy!" Well I say rubbish. I found it both poor security, and disrespectful to require me to surrender my card to be spirited away to the back room and left there. Shame on you.
Amazing food, Exceptional Service, and Great Vibes!
