Our appetizers were good, the dish we ordered? Not so much. But I think because it’s an acquired taste; either you like it or you don’t. We didn’t like the smell of it, which was overwhelming, and that thus ruined our tastebuds. It just wasn’t the dish for us. But our serves were very nice and very honest about the menu, which we appreciated. Food came out quickly. Overall, I would go back, but try something else next time.
Service was absolutely abhorrent due to the rush! But the food is indeed amazing.... the servers lack experience for sure and hopefully management can get better and more friendly servers
Had dinner out with my 2 young adult sons, husband and father in law. The table was in the corner so it was private and quiet however the server would disappear for long stretches. We waited 15 min to ask for the bill, waited to get the bill and then another 19 min to pay the bill. It shouldn’t take half an hour to pay the bill! The food is very good but in the expensive side. Good for special occasions.
Amazing food, great drinks. Would highly recommend to anyone!!
table at the bar was too small for 8 people. Server refused to add extra space
Great atmosphere to go for a date of with friends . Price per value high. Not a restaurant for mid low budget.
Service and food was great!! New server Louis was super.
The restaurant is sexy, the food and service are amazing. It’s got the best of both worlds...busy bar area and quiet/intimate dining area!
Last time, which was the first time here, we both had great meals. The lobster tempura roll was excellent! Lightly battered, not greasy and quite delicious. This time the batter was thick and greasy. The noodle dish was good, the chicken was very tender - but I wish there’d been more vegetables and less noodle. I’d probably go back to see if they were just having an off night. The green beans were good, not great this time. They were barely heated (not “wrinkled” as on the menu), and lacked flavor compared to the previous time we were there.
I had an anniversary reservation for 8. Arrived at 8:03 and checked in and was told to wait. I waited until 845 until I walked back up to the register watching people walk in and be seated pretty fast. When I walked up to the front desk the guy didn’t not realize I was still waiting and did not properly check me in through open table on his computer. I was seated about 2 min after. Food was good and host was good. Bad start to my anniversary dinner however.
Nice spot. Cool vibe. Great drinks. Really subpar food. Sushi was not as good as what I have bought at a grocery store chain before. I wouldn’t go back again unless the entire menu and exec chef changed.
Great service and food. Love coming here when I’m in town!
Our server was great and we appreciated being accommodated with a table rather than a counter seat. My only critique would be that your food comes out way too fast. Personally I like the dining experience but feel rushed when food hits the table 5 minutes after we order. I also don’t like that things aren’t brought out together. For example, we ordered in intervals so that we could actually stretch out our evening and when we placed our final order of house rice, beef skewers and chicken skewers...the rice literally hit the table in less than 3 minutes. We wanted to enjoy everything together so the rice got cold while we waited for the rest of the food. I love Empire but this is definitely my least favorite thing about it.
We picked this place to celebrate 40th anniversary. After spending $700 we were told at 10:30pm that the table needs to be cleared for other customers. Very rude behavior. The server and management wasn’t polite at all.
The food was phenomenal. The house fried rice was the best I’ve ever had. Tyler was our server and he was awesome! I’m a vegetarian and he made sure everything we ordered I would be able to eat. He was attentive to us and didn’t let us leave unsatisfied. We will definitely be back!
Very well run organization It was a pleasure to watch all of the chefs at their individual stations. Every plate was made with perfection. The two head chefs reviewed each dish to ensure the best quality to the waiting customers. In other workds, no plates are handed to the wait staff until the head chefs review and make sure it's right. It was a real treat to watch. The food needless to say is excellent.
Perfect girls night out
Great ambiance, terrific food and awesome energy
Delicious drinks! Awesome flavors and options. Food is not good though. We ordered the chicken and veggie lo mein and it was full of oil and was basically just noodles, no vegetables. The chicken was pure rubber, the texture was so odd we actually thought it was a mushroom. I hate to say it, it was disgusting. Go for drinks but eat somewhere else before.
Love food and atmosphere
Nice stuff great for sharing your favorite dish with your friends
The service wasnt great by any means but the food was fantastic as usual.
Food was delicious. Service was extremely unimpressive. We were at the table for 9 minutes before greeted, then she dropped off the specials and said she'd be back. After another 8-10 minutes, we finally had to ask the back waiter to get her for us.
Love this adorable Asian fusion spot super great food beverages and service!!
I love Empire, especially for sushi unlimited on Wednesday’s. I was introducing a friend to Empire for her first experience there and it definitely did not disappoint.
Mediocre brown sauce on chow foon noodles- bad. Glitch in service caused late food serving.
In Boston just for the night staying at the Intercontinental. Two of us ate dinner at the counter for a busy Friday night. Service was very good, accommodating and food was excellent. Food came very quickly for how busy the restaurant was overall. We Took Uber to Empire but decided to walk back to the hotel after dinner. Beautiful evening and city.
I noted in my reservation to have a cozy seat and was seated middle of noisy seating, then a corner table opened up asked to be moved the waiter said no without even checking with the front person takin reservations and gave us a dirty look. The table that I wanted to move to was open for about 20 minutes without anyone seating there. This is the last time I’ll go there. Horrible wait staff
Empire is a fun place to get dinner with Friends, family, or go on a date. It has the perfect blend of ambiance and elegance with that laid back feel! The food was outstanding... some of the best sushi I’ve ever had and the family style portions always make for a fun way to have dinner with friends! As a food blogger myself I will be recommending and going back soon!
The busgirl spilled my drink (broke the glass) onto my son’s pants. They brought us a towel and charged us for the drink. It was very expensive for 4 people - drinks, 4 appetizers and only one entree $300. Not worth it.
Wonderful dinner great waiters can’t wait to go back again.
Great server! Dumplings were amazing!
Laura is the best server in the game
Appetizers were good entrees fair
Food was quite good and the space was not full. We were seated right away and a waiter showed up shortly after to take drink orders but then it took quite a while to place dinner orders even though it was not busy.
The appetizers, cocktails, and ambiance were all fantastic, but a few of us agreed that our entrees left a little something to be desired. I have been to Empire before, and both times I ordered the Singapore noodles. The first time I went, I thought the Singapore noodles were perfect! The second time they didn't seem to have as much flavor. My partner agreed about the Singapore noodles, and also commented that his chow foon lacked flavor. Overall it was a great experience, but I think there is room for improvement.
The food is delicious as always! The price is fair, however can be on the pricy side. Good experience, service was pretty good.
We love the Dumplings and Rangoon’s
Excellent, best in Boston.
