We come here often and enjoy the cozy neighborhood feel of this Irish Pub. The food is excellent and the Guinness is drawn with skill. We've never been disappointed.
We didn't know what to expect when we entered, as it looked more like a bar than a restaurant. We were very warmly greeted at the door, and shown to a table up front in the window. However, there was a speaker right over head, and it was quite loud, so the host quickly offered us another table in another area that wasn't quite as loud . The menu is simple, but full of wonderfully traditional items, all of which sounded delicious. I had the Taste of Ireland - which was a sampling of 3 house specialties - Guinness Beef Stew, Shepard's Pie, and Chicken Pot Pie! Each one was so delicious, and they served you just enough of each - still thinking about the meal. A friend had the Bangers and Mash, and also raved! The service was warm and inviting, and would definitely come back next time we're in Boston.
I really enjoyed Emmet's Irish Pub. My wife and I live outside of the city but decided to see a show at The Wilbur Theater. I searched all around on OpenTable and Yelp and found great reviews of this place. It was about a 15-minute walk, past the common so I enjoyed the walk there and back as well. The restaurant is dim lit and had an excellent food selection. I am vegetarian and I had a number of different options. I went with the gnocchi, which I loved. My wife got a veggie burger and also really enjoyed that. I will come back for sure!
the waitress was really nice and helped me with my plan
The pub was nice, we sat in the front window which was nice for our group because it was a bit set apart from the other tables, but it was extremely drafty so we were very cold all evening. Food prices reasonable and food was good but nothing special.
My wife and I had a wonderful time. The food and service were excellent and we will be sure to let our friends know.
My daughter and I found this Irish pub for lunch. The burger I had was amazing and the Guinness beef stew my daughter had was delicious. I’d recommend this place to anyone
Emmet's is just wonderful. I took my parents out to lunch here. The food was great (I had the seafood chowder and fish & chips) and so is the ambiance. I love how cozy it is and right in the heart of the city.
Really delicious food and good service. My husband had the fish and chips, I had the bangers and mash...we would recommend both!
My wife and I traveled to Boston from RI to meet a relative going to school there. It was the perfect place for a get together, service was excellent, food very good, and it is an extremely comfortable restaurant. Glad it was available through Open Table, as I never would have located it. Will make it a stop on the next trip to Boston.
Love Emmet's! It's an authentic old pub. Great pub food. Includes several options for vegetarians and it has good beer. Prices are good. Casual. What else would you want?
Great live music! Our server was very friendly and helpful.
We went for an Irish brunch on Sunday afternoon. We would have loved to hear the traditional Irish session at 3 pm but were too early for that. They sat us in the window seat where the band would be playing at 3. The canned music through the speakers was really, obscenely loud. It was great Irish music, but I couldn't even hear my partner in our conversation. The food was great, though, and we enjoyed our personal serving sizes of Irish Breakfast Tea.
I had asked for a table by the window and when we arrived they were taken. The hostess went over and made the party (they had just sat down) move so that we could have our table by the window! That was great! Also-Pumpkin Martini is delicious!!
Our first time here and it was good. I ordered the Irish chicken curry, different from Indian curries. It didn't really taste like a curry and was full of large pieces of onion to fill it up - onions are cheap! As I don't eat onions, I had to pick them all out. The ambience was good and service excellent.
Our first time to this pub, but we had an exceptional time! Food was authentic Irish pub fare, live music was exceptional, and our waitress was quite engaging. We'll be back when we're in the Boston area!
The hostess was great and seated us by open windows so it was fun to people watch. There was live Irish music which enhanced the ambiance. The music was loud enough to hear but did not drown out our conversation. The food and drink were excellent and we will be back!!
We ate and drank a few pints at Emmet's the evening after the marathon. It was busy, the staff worked together well to be attentive. The food was amazing, the beer selection was very good. We even went back and had a few at the bar the following day.
We had a wonderful time at Emmets. Great whisky selection, great atmosphere, and the food was excellent. They only had two waitresses, so it was understandably slow to get another drink, but still somewhat timely. I enjoyed my time very much so, and will return for the brunch and traditional Irish music! Slainté!
Food was really good, nice and hot. The place was busy and the noise level was really loud making it difficult to talk across the table. Server pleasant but seemed really rushed. Couldn't get the request for sweetner out of my mouth before she raced away after bringing our tea. Good selection of beer on tap.
Great food, properly poured guinness, what else do you need?
We had a Good time with our college age and teenage sons. The atmosphere is fun, the fish & chips & Beef Stew were delicious!
Good food, good services, and a great atmosphere! Would definitely go back!
Made me feel like I was eating in the UK. Same entrees that you would get at an Irish pub in Ireland. I recommend trying the Emmet's Home Brew. Our group enjoyed meals including Sheperd's Pie and Bangers and Mash.
Loved our experience at Emmet's! I had heard great things about the Irish music & they certainly delivered! Authentic & down to earth... just what we were hoping for. I wish there were more tables you could view the music, but not much they can do about that :). Our server was lovely, and my shepard's pie was delicious! We'll definitely be back.
We sat in the back, it was pretty loud, but I appreciated that they were able to get a group of 7 of us in there on relatively short notice. Drinks seemed less expensive than average for Boston. Food was good but portions were a little on the small side. For a big city like Boston it was fairly cheap though.
Fish and chips were awesome!
Great seafood and steak pub food! The warm chocolate donut holes dessert is a must try!
Charming Irish pub. Cozy. Excellent and friendly servers. Great whiskey menu. Food was fantastic. We had the shepherd's pie, beef and guinness pie, fish and chips, steak. And lots of Guinness! Plenty other drafts on tap as well. Would definitely go again.
This place is really cozy, and the food was really good! It's not fancy food (pub grub) but everything was very tasty, and the prices were very fair. It's a little snug (not a lot of tables because it's primarily a bar) but we got a table last minute on a Friday so we were appreciative about that.
