Staff was great but seemed slightly overwhelmed for a bit. Not unlike everywhere else these days so not a big deal. Great little pub with good food. Will be back.
Excellent food and excellent service! Very pleased!
Shepherds Pie and the onion soup were awesome!
A surprisingly hidden gem on the outskirts of Beacon Hill. Had a reservation for 6:30, was seated, ordered drinks and dinner, and dined with ample time to make an 8:00 concert nearby. Would definitely return....and take OpenTable with us.
Food was great and the prices were reasonable. Very loud inside the restaurant.
Great staff with traditional Irish food very much like what I ate when visiting Ireland,
Came in for light dinner after a big lunch. Perfect spot and a very cool bar as well.
Stopped by with some friends to have dinner before flying out. Was great
Our experience at Emmet’s was very enjoyable. My husband and I shared a Reuben and fries which was plenty for two. We had good service and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely come back.
The pub is quaint and in a good location. The food was really good, especially the Shepherds Pie and the Salmon Goat Cheese salad. We had two servers. One was fine but the other was not pleasant and quickly scooped up our food and drinks without asking if we were done or wanted anything else. However, if I lived locally, I’d go back and would recommend to others.
Server was only one on the floor. All in all she did ok. Food was ok but cold. Might return
First time coming here and no complaints at all. Food was awesome and the rustic Irish feel was real inside. Service was incredible and would go back anytime.
Good food and service. Very noisy. Difficult to converse.
Good Irish food served by a friendly and professional staff.
Always good … especially the beef stew!
I usually have great service when I visit. This time, not so much. My server was inattentive. She walked by, looked directly at my empty drink glass, and kept walking. I literally yelled for her (it was LOUD in the bar) and she didn't stop. It took over 5 minutes before I could find a different server to grab another drink. She was a nice lady with glasses. Even though I wasn't her table, she checked in on me more than my actual server the rest of the night. My food came out luke warm and cold in some parts. I couldn't even find my server to say anything, so I began eating. After about 8 mins or so she walked around and I motioned to her. My veggie burger didn't have the red peppers as listed on the menu. "I'll check on that." A little while later she came back saying they were out, apologized, and before I could respond, she walked away again. I know places are understaffed, and they were busy, but this woman seemed like she was just going through the motions and I was somewhat of an inconvenience at times. It was disappointing. The next time I visit, I hope I have the lady with glasses as my server, or one of the other ladies that have been there in the past.
The food was very good, but it was very noisy and hard to hear people talking next to you.
The food was good. Our service was terrible. We didn’t get our drinks (water) until after our food was delivered. Drinks were never refilled. Had to flag down a server to get our check. Tables were too close together, couldn’t sit comfortably.
Great drinks. Amazing food. Authentic dining. Loved the French onion soup and pot pie. Boyfriend loved the taste of Ireland.
Loved the ambience, the food and the service. Highly recommended.
Outstanding as usual!!!
Overall was a great experience. I think the staff where short so service was a bit delayed, however, I think staff did the best they could. Will definitely be back. Great live music and upbeat atmosphere.
Service was very slow- more than 20 min just to get water and drinks. Food
Was okay. Nothing exciting.
In town for family vacation and we wanted a good Irish pub. Emmets didn’t disappoint! Food was good and service was great! Fries were incredible.
Big disappointment, unfortunately. We understand that many places are struggling to find enough help right now, but this was really bad. 30 minutes plus before our our group of 7 was even acknowledged. No live music, as advertised. Food came out in stages and two of us waited for yet another 20 minutes after others were served for their dinners to arrive. Food was not worth the wait. Not how we imagined spending our solitary evening in Boston, and wish we had just gotten up and left. Waitress was clearly mortified and removed one of the dinners from the bill.
Vey cute and interesting pub. Off the beaten path. My fish and chips were average at best, my partner said his Shepards pie was great. Service was ok at best.
My table loved the Shepard’s pie, Guinness stew and fish and chips. We will likely return next time we are in Boston. We ended up with a great window seat likely due to booking through open table.
Great Irish pub, authentic food, and the waitress has a fantastic brogue. You definitely will like it
Food was amazing! Service was slow but the poor lady was serving the whole restaurant alone and the bartender was chilling at the bar not doing anything half the time (consequently we didn’t get our wine until our entrees arrived)
Love the place - second time there in a week. My only complaint is the music is way too loud particularly if you are seated right under the speakers. Otherwise great pub food.
DEAR GOD, THE FISH AND CHIPS!!!
Usually, a great fish and chips tastes remarkably like all other great fish and chips. Not here! I don’t know what they do, but Emmet‘s fish and chips are far and above the best I’ve ever had.
I also ordered a side salad “to be good.” The fish and chips was so satisfying, I almost didn’t eat it. That would’ve been a HUGE mistake! It was fresh and delicious, and the pickled onions totally made it special!
On a personal note, I wasn’t feeling well and asked if they could bring me some bread to calm my stomach. They of course agreed but it took a little while… Why? Because they were WARMING IT UP!!! It was hot and soft and crunchy and delicious! Totally worth the wait!!!
This was my first trip to Boston. I would come back just to eat here again!
Not impressed. Warm goat salad was just ok. Calamari was overcook and horrible.
Food was just ok. Host and hostess also will be your waiter or at least they were during our lunch visit. Never came by to refill our drinks once and alcoholic mixed drinks are loaded with ice; not worth the $10. Coleslaw is seasoned with garlic salt which gives it an unusual taste. Fries lack seasoning. Restaurant is very noisy making it difficult to carry a conversation with the people sitting at your own table.
Everything we ordered was great…pigs in a blanket, curry chicken and beef stew were our family favorites from the evening. Server was nice and we had a cut table next to the front table. No complaints, would go again.
Emmets has been our go-to neighborhood destination for years. Great to return after Covid. Food, service always good, although no specials so far.
Glad to see Emmets back and continue on.
Our server was new, but he was so nice and worked hard for us. The food was good but my Irish stew had only 2 small pieces of meat. My husbands Irish stew had a small amount of meat as well, mostly vegetables. Our friends did the sampler, and loved it. The brown bread could really use some improvement, and was served cold, and was very dry, almost stale so the 4 of us all agreed it was pretty bad. Some improvements I would suggest is; having the servers know about the history of the pub, offer suggestions on the menu for customers, improve the brown bread recipe and serve warm w/meal. Ambience was nice! I would go back again and give it a second try.
My family of six enjoyed a fantastic lunch here on a Saturday. The service and food were excellent. Highly recommend!
Great food and service. The fish and chips was huge!
Delicious authentic food! We would eat here again for sure.
We always enjoy Emmets. We have become regulars. We go for dinner but also enjoy the brunch on the weekends.
