Excellent place!! One of our favorite paces to chill and have a drink!
Lovely service. Got my particular order just right
Emmet's is great and will definitely go there again. I can't recommend using OpenTable for it though. We were running late on a Friday so looked here to find a place with an open table and made a reservation. After showing up 5 minutes early, we still had to wait about 30 minutes past the reservation time for a table to open up and be seated. Another couple that had walked in was seated ahead of us. What's the point of making a reservation if it's not honored? The service was fine but the whole process was pointless. Would have gone somewhere else for a table if I knew that the reservation wasn't valid. Like I said, Emmet's is a great spot and will walk-in there again, but there's no point to in using OpenTable to make a reservation there.
much too cold in the restaurant. Felt like no heat.
Wouldn't go back in winter.
We love Emmets and always receive the best service possible from Sheila!
Cozy Irish Pub---I had clam chowder for my app and fish and chips for lunch. My hubby had chicken pot pie. The fish was super fresh and crispy, so good. The chicken pot pie was the best I have ever tasted. I highly recommend!!!!!!
Very busy pub, little loud when busy but to be expected. Food is really good, I was expecting ok but it was surprisingly good! Service was a little slow because they were busy, we had to go up to the bar to get another drink because the waitress didn't come back for a long time, but not a big deal. I would go there again.
In town for concert.....food was outstanding. Guinness was the beat!
Food and atmosphere were great! The service, while friendly, wasn’t attentive at all. So slow!
As a family we love Irish Pubs/food our real criticism of Emmets would be the chicken pot pie was more of a chicken chowder than a pot pie. It was very thin (actually thinner than the beef stew). The Shepards Pie was seasoned well, tasted good, but was shy on meat. Overall, we had a good experience and everyone enjoyed the food except for the pot pie.
Quaint Irish Pub atmosphere, Friendly staff and good service. Like you neighborhood Pub.
Seating is a little tight at this spot, but it's Boston, so I guess what did we expect that in that department? Luckily, the whole family was really happy with their food and the service was really good overall. It was a great find, easy walk to our show at the Orpheum, and a place I would gladly come back again.
My husband and I went on a Sunday night. It was very busy and the waitresses were competent and working very hard, but there was not enough help and the service was slow. When we first arrived (6pm) the noise level was fine, but shortly thereafter they turned up sound system and it was too loud for us and for people at the nearby tables.
My husband got a burger and fries and the fries were delicious. I got a chicken breast on top of mashed potatoes and spinach which arrived at room temperature (at best). I sent it back, as I like mashed potatoes hot, but they came back several minutes later seemingly the same temperature and the chicken was dried out. I really wanted to like this place as I liked the "feel" when we first went in. We will not go back.
As a Boston native relocated in NYC, Emmet’s is precisely what I want when I come back to visit my friends. Right in Beacon Hill, near downtown, we can grab a drink before and after, and enjoy some quality Irish pub food.
Recommend the fish and chips and NE clam chowder.
It may be that I’m biased, being from Boston, but seafood is the one food category NYC doesn’t quite do properly.
We had reservations for 4 at 6 on a Saturday night, but caught in traffice and showed up 10 minutes late. No problem... we were seated promptly. We let our server know that we were going to a show, we ordered, and were served in record time. Service and food were great! Will go back again.
It was my first time to Emmet's and was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent, the menu was varied and very reasonable and it had a nice, Irish pub vibe. They didn't have a live band but Irish music playing in the background which was a plus. I'll be back.
I would go back only because of the food and atmosphere. The waitress seemed like she didn’t want to be working and she seemed angry. There was a few times she walked by our table and never asked if we needed anything. The drinks were priced good but they were weak in value
Emmet’s never disappoints! Great Irish staples and the live trad music throughout the week brings us back to our time spent in Ireland. A great spot for any occasion!
Delicious food, great service and were very quick to check menu items when informed of a food allergy.
It’s nice. It’s bigger then it looks.
We ordered the Guinness onion soup, it’s was delicious. We also ordered fish & chips. It was ok but we were disappointed. My wife order was not presentable. Her fish portion was visually half smaller than mine and also it was burned. The cook should have noticed it and or at least the server before bringing it to us.
Great shepherds pie!
The curry fries always hit the spot
Great food, for a great price. I actually preferred the Emmet’s Ale over the Guinness on tap. The Shepherds Pie and Guinness Stew were outstanding. Go in prepared for some noise. Reservations are easy to arrange online.
We had no problem making the reservation and our server was very accommodating and friendly!! Food was very good. Definitely recommend!
Atmosphere here is fantastic and feels very authentic when they have live music happening on Wednesdays. Food is unfortunately a bit bland on flavor, could use more spicing.
Delicious sandwiches - everyone loved their meals. Everyone got different sandwiches for lunch and everyone enjoyed them!
Great food. Great service. Don't miss coming to this pub. You won't be disappointed. We both had the "Taste of Ireland" plate. Just terrific.
Ambiance and decor was appropriate for an Irish pub.
We ate about 22:30 on a Friday.
I liked the wood decor/furnishings of the pub, though some people might not like the darker wood colors of the pub.
Food was very good. Prices were reasonable. (Similar to Applebee's)
Disappointed that there was only one Irish beer (Guinness) available in an Irish pub.
Playing 80's music (louder than I prefer, but not too loud) in background.
Amazing atmosphere and the food was outstanding. The music was a special treat!
I’ve been to several pubs in Ireland and Emmet’s was a fun authentic reminder. Great Guinness and delicious food.
My friends and I went here on a Wednesday night. They had live Irish music that didn't drown out our conversation and the food was delicious. Emmet's topped our experience off with fantastic, attentive service and affordable prices. We'll definitely be back!
It was very nice and food very good. It is located near the metro station in a very nice area.
Great Irish pub in a super location. Good comfort food and a reasonable selection of draft beer.
A little bit loud for our family but we were with someone 80+. Good food and the kids liked the food elevator.
Perfect little spot for out of towners to get a "pub feel" in Boston. Food was excellent. We were seated at the front window with the window open. Ambiance was wonderful.
Hostess was very rude!!!!
Just average. Plain food. Menu online is different. Probably wont go back
Great authentic Irish Pub. Food music and ambiance felt like we were in Ireland. It filled up fast when we were there so you know it must be a local favorite.
Will definitely go again next time we’re in Boston!
