Emmer & Rye
Emmer & Rye is a restaurant designed around the farmer’s haul, featuring a menu that changes daily with a focus on seasonal and local cuisine. Heirloom grains are milled fresh for house made pastas, breads, and desserts, whole animal butchery is done on site, and an extensive in house fermentation program captures flavors at their peak and preserves them for the off season.

Delicious meal and fantastic staff. They all seemed really passionate about the food. Erin was a phenomenal server. Super fun and lively. I actually commented on how well the restaurant was laid out (you're not gonna be near a bathroom) and how the noise level was perfect. Decent playlist too. 5/5 stars for me and will definitely be returning!
Emmer & Rye is an amazing experience. The food is unreal, the staffis knowledgble and pleasant. The whole team wait staff, bartenders management make sure you are taken care of without being overbearing. Loved the whole experience!
The food is creative and the wait staff are friendly and happy to help you navigate their sumptuous menu.
Excellent food, cocktails, and service. The tasting menu was great, would come back.
Sonehwat overpriced but lovely and delicious
AMAZING. Love how their menu always stays soooo fresh and up to date. I’ll always get the classic Cacio E Pepe but their other dishes are always changing. Wine and cocktails were delicious too!
We had a great experience! We enjoyed the tasting menu, such a variety of interesting food. Our service was amazing!
Beautiful menu with amazing food dishes. Waitress was great. Loved that when they delivered the food they’d explain all of the ingredients and how they complimented each other to create dishes.
Highly recommend the tasting menu! Our waiter was amazing and extremely knowledgeable. Would defneitly come back here when I come back to Austin!
The tasting menu and wine pairings were outstanding. Each course was creative and beautifully presented. Our server, Alex, was great - passionate about the food and wine and all the thoughtful effort that goes into producing each dish
Expected a refined tasting menu. My date requested vegetarian which the waitress said could absolutely be accommodated. Two of the dishes were granola and yogurt with various fruit. Very sneaky of them to serve two of basically the same dish in a tasting- besides the fact that they were sweet breakfast plates similar to a parfait you may get at a coffee shop. Other than that, the texture and innovation was interesting but none of the flavor palettes worthy of a tasting menus. Way overpriced for what it is. And some of it very salty. Just not what we were hoping for.
We were a family of four w 2 kids. Everything was professional, playful, carefully executed and delicious. Loved it all. Especially hospitality from our server Erin!!
The dinner pre-fix was the best way to go! So yummy!
The food was amazing. Everything had such interesting flavors but came together so nicely - fancy food at a not fancy price. Get the tres jugos dessert if you have room. Ambience was really pleasing and farm to table vibe - seeing all the chefs do their work in the kitchen was incredible! Waiters were all very pleasant and met all our needs. Food also came out super fast. It made our Austin trip very special - and located on Rainey St. so great location to get a cocktail after.
Elegantly plated. Flavors paired very well. Will definitely be coming back soon.
It was an overall great experience, both food and service.
Waitstaff was amazing! So thorough, informative, and helpful. The most delicious dinner:)
Great restaurant. Food is very inventive. Highlight was the black garlic ice cream with chocolate sauce and fermented tomato dust.
Really enjoyed the meal…I might have picked some of the dishes served on my own, but certainly not all of them and I’m glad I just let the staff bring us dish after dish of their choice. The food was delicious and creative. The staff was so knowledgeable about the food and all of them genuinely seemed to enjoy working there and the joy was infectious. Such a treat of an evening
The most perfect birthday meal. The tasting menu is sublime, and we really cannot recommend this place enough. Alex's wine knowledge is crazy in-depth and highly appreciated (we nerded out a lot). Exquisite food in an amazing city. Hard to beat
Best restaurant in all of Austin! A foodies paradise!
Delicious, interesting food. A very memorable experience with friendly service. A must-do in Austin!
Aunque la comida no siempre era estupenda, siempre era buena e interesante. El restaurante es una experiencia, y uno de los mejores en Austin.
Loved everything, Margaret was an amazing server and the drinks were delish too! Fave was the yellow fin per Margaret’s recommendation.
Emmer & Rye is our favorite restaurant in Austin. Everything from the food, to the service, to the drinks is absolutely magical. A true gem!
Food and service were both great!
We had the tasting menu. Its the chef choice, so you don't know what your getting exactly. It was fun and everything was very flavorful. Would recommend to any adventurous eater.
The famous Cacio e Pepe stands out, a bit disappointed to learn that, while being the most famous dish in the restaurant, it's not included in the $75 tasting menu. Enjoyed the surprise snacks, well worth the extra $15. Liked the Summer squash and the beef tartare appetizers, but the rest was sub-par. We were very excited for the oyster mushroom main dish but it came deep fried and such heavy batter and a salty sauce that we could barely taste or feel the mushroom. Black garlic ice cream sounded intersting, it was yummy but nothing noteworthy. Aside from the Cacio e Pepe and appetizers, was not too impressed by the rest of the dishes. Service was good and nice but would sometimes forget to bring the accompanying utensils and plates/snacks in disorder.
Incredible tasting menu. Wait staff and host really nice. Great value overall for the price.
Celebrated our tenth anniversary here. The food was Michelin star quality in my opinion. Cannot recommend this place enough.
food was incredible, our waitress erin was even better. she was delightful, funny, answered all our questions, and even wrote out recommendations to other restaurants. emmer and rye gets 5 stars, erin gets 6
It was the best, the food was excellent and the service too.
Exceptional meal and experience.
One of the best restaurants in Austin - food, service, execution - everything.
Fantastic! The flavors were inventive and delicious! We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it did not disappoint. It’s farm to table, so everything tastes so fresh. They easily accommodated my food restrictions without making me feel as though I was missing out on anything. The service was outstanding! Courtney really knew her food and wine. She very accurately described each dish and pairing as they were served, and was just the right amount of attentive. If you can get a reservation here, DO IT!
Great service with great food. They accommodated a vegetarian diet very easily.
The food is art. Trust every recommendation. Best restaurant I’ve tried in Austin so far. Can’t wait to go back!!
It truly was an experience. We chose the a la carte options rather than the dinner option. This way we got exactly what we wanted to eat, in the quantity we wanted and still saved money! The service was wonderful and the chefs are absolutely geniuses. Highly recommend!
The food and service here was incredible! We just flew in from Colorado and this place was just what we needed. Our server Cody gave us the best recommendations for food and drinks and was even so kind to give us a list of things of things to do in Austin. Highly recommend!
