   Excellent Austin spot showcasing true talent, seasonal creativity (they have their own farm and produce dropped off daily), and an excellent global wine list with biodynamic, earthy, funky, natural wine additions to a tastefully thoughtful list. Outside is nice, inside is nicer, and the two bars provide a nice vibe and a look into the kitchen. Will come back and look forward to trying their other restaurants.

   Food and service was great. We sat at the bar and when I told them it was my wife's birthday, they really went out of there way to help her celebrate.

   Celebrate my birthday here and was greeted with a card signed by the whole staff and a glass of champagne! Food and drinks were delicious and the service was fantastic!

   Emmer & Rye is such a professional dining experience and the staff exudes that. One main call out I appreciated was that we sat on the patio on a cold evening. Luckily, they had personal heaters for every table which allowed us to enjoy our meal while being comfortable and warm! Great wine suggestions by the sommelier as well.

   The chef’s menu was probably the best meal I have had in my life. It was duck and rabbit theme (which is something I wouldn’t necessarily order on my own). It was absolutely delicious!

    I am an Emmer & Rye frequent visitor and my most recent visit was not great compared to what I have experienced the other visits. I won’t be back and won’t be recommending anymore. The entire time we were rushed from the moment we sat down until the moment we paid. We ordered a total of 5 dishes, one being the bread. We each had 1 slice and before we even finished the slice 2 different servers came by asking to take the dish away. Same with the pastas. It was not busy in the restaurant, no need to rush. The drinks were so strong with minimal flavor we barely drank any of them. The moment we finished our last plate the ticket was on the table, mind you we had 2 almost full drinks on the table. The appetizer carrot dish was awful. We had one bite, server did not offer for a different option or recommended something different to try. Very disappointed with the experience.

    While the service was perfect the food was not. This was our second time there and the first was fabulous. This time the food was sub par. The salad was unique in that it had a lot of garden variety, but it didn’t pull it off. The dressing was unremarkable. The bread and accoutrements was the best part of the meal. The fish was only seared (which was not published on the menu and the dish was fairly tasteless. The chicken dish was a B-. Good but not great. For a restaurant with high expectations and cost, this was extremely disappointing.

    We've been here many times. Each time the food has been exceptional. The servers are attentive. The wine list has improved substantially over the last few years. This time we visited during SXSW - the restaurant is located in a very congested entertainment area and getting there was difficult. We responded to the reservation text that we were on our way. Then we called in advance and told the hostess we were on our way, stuck in traffic, and the hostess simply said "we have a 15 min grace period". We arrived exactly at 15 min past our reservation time and by the time the hostess addressed us, the first thing she said was "you are outside our grace period". OK, so now what? Did you give our table away 1 min ago? The table was available and we understand that our end time doesn't change, but it was a very negative way to start the evening, especially since we made efforts to proactively communicate. We were sat feeling very rushed and not very welcome. Emmer & Rye has always felt a bit rushed with how the food comes out, but it was very unsettling to sit after this interaction. There is no reason to be rude to your guests.

    The last time we were there was right before the world shut down for my birthday. We went last night for my birthday. The food was just as incredible as I remembered. The service was impeccable. Everybody was super friendly. They made me feel special on my birthday.

    We were disappointed that we could not receive the chef's tasting on the patio. There was no warning before booking that this would be limited to us. We ordered a few items from the menu and were satisfied with one dish overall. We have been here plenty of times and noticed that the overall experience has gone down the last few times we visited. It's unfortunate because we've brought out-of-town friends here, and it has been just "meh" lately. I wonder what changed? Fortunately, we had a gift card because our family knew how much we like this place and only paid $80 for our wine and six dishes. I'm not sure if we would have justified paying full price for our last experience.

    We had an amazing dinner here and we’re very difficult, judge mental people. Staff is among the most friendly we’ve encountered in a restaurant in years. Food was outstanding, well timed and portions were perfect. We loved our server Reggie and will definitely go back soon.

    Had a wonderful evening dining here last night. The delightful staff (Sam and his lovely colleague behind the bar) were so friendly and informative. The food was incredible - particularly the Crudo and Cabbage! Thank you for a great experience.

    Their Bread with the accompaniments was fantastic. Chicken was good. I was frankly disappointed with the carrot dish - extremely salty. Their Crudo was salty as well. Sphagetti Cece di Pepe was extremely salty as well. I am not sure what happened to them.

    We were celebrating my partner’s birthday and everyone there made her feel so special. Everything was amazing from start to finish. Cocktails, dinner, dessert were unique and the flavor complexity was incredible. Thank you Emmer and Rye for making our evening an unforgettable night!

    Everyone at this restaurant was so friendly in a genuine way and the food and drinks were great. Even better, I lost my wallet there by accident and a good samaritan returned it. Great Austin dining!

    The food was incredible, however, the experience from the staff was quite the opposite. We felt pressured and rushed throughout our entire meal. Before the sommelier had brought our bottle of wine to the table, the server asked over 3 times if we were ready to order. We were both visiting from out of town and don’t get to see each other often so to be rushed to order when we hadn’t even had a sip of wine bothered us both immensely. I understand it’s a fine dining experience, but that means you get to enjoy your experience and savor the food and drink. We hadn’t even finished the first or second course before they brought the next, continuing to feel rushed, asking to clear our plates before they’re finished. It was beyond irritating. My tip for the restaurant would be to focus more on staggering the courses and letting their guests enjoy their meal instead of popping in every 4 minutes.

    This place was amazing! From walking through the door and having several people greet you with a “welcome in” all the way through to the end was a great experience. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. We left feeling full and satisfied. The cocktails weren’t our favorite- we ordered the “rabbit” themed ones. Can’t wait to go back! Top notch service and food.

    This restaurant always delivers. The quality of the ingredients and the creative preparations are why you go to a restaurant like this. Two dishes not to be missed are steak tartar and the Cacio de Pepe. We had those plus the rabbit and duck 10 course“omakase”. The other nice thing is they keep the courses moving. Not to let the cat out of the bag but the first course is a very unique cold carrot presentation i would have liked a hot presentation as well. Can’t wait to return.

    One of our favorite Austin restaurant. We dine every time we are in Austin. The tasting menu with the wine pairing is the way to go. The chefs come up with some very creative and incredibly delicious and creative dishes. The wine totally accentuate the menu. The staff from the front of the house and back of the house are super friendly and professional. Can’t wait to go back!!!
