   Anniversary dinner at the chefs table was outstanding. Chef Kevin is a maestro in the kitchen - keeping things calm and fun. We ordered the “Maize” course and each dish was a delicious surprise. First time there but definitely not the last. Servers, hosts and kitchen staff checked in with us throughout the night - what service!

   The service was terrible for the price point. The cuisine was not extraordinary enough to make up for the difference. The wine list is very interesting, however the sommelier was not articulate enough to describe or recommend their wine. It was disappointing. We will not return, nor will we recommend.

   Food was just wonderful! Pasta was fantastic and cooked perfectly. Sauces had citrus in them and were yummy. All food is locally sourced, fresh, and delicious. Would totally go back!

   Unexpected pleasureable experience for a first time guest. The staff is very friendly, Nick makes sure guests understand what your dining experience will be. Towards the end of the nine course meal, the quantity has increased, but has never diminished in quality and excitement. Thank you

   Our main waiter was really excellent but the second waiter did not explain things very well and seemed a bit out of it. As we were there for my wife's birthday, I was very impressed by how wonderful the staff were and they started us off with some bubbly which was quite nice. The food was tasty but way over-salted. I even heard the table next to us complain about it as well. As the main course, we both got the fish and it was overcooked. The bread service was absolutely amazing with the "smoked" honey being the star of that show. The "chocolate chip" desert has nothing to do with actual chocolate chips, it's yam chips with unsweetened cocoa sprinkled on it. The ice cream was made from rice fungus (which is good in savory dishes) and it tasted like mushroom ice cream. The carrot cake dessert was not carrot cake but was tasty. Though I have a lot of good things to say about many aspects of the restaurant, we went there for the food, and it was really hit or miss. If you like salty food, then you will love most of what is on their menu. For us, it was a disappointment, so I can't recommend.

   If this were my first visit to Emmer & Rye I would never come back. It was my second visit after a first magical trip at the chefs counter for a tasting menu that blew our socks off. This visit was underwhelming. Made the mistake of doing a pork-themed prix-Fixe menu. From the start it was pretty bland. There was a floral-designed tart with carrots as petals that were tasteless and a poor complement to the cream cheese. The remaining courses just did not bring the same flavor profiles or depth that I experienced on my first visit. Staples like the cacio e pepe are amazing and a recommendation that I would make for sure but this menu just wasn’t it. The service was good from everyone. Our waitstaff was good and pleasant but this one waitstaff who brought our drink (ponytail, right sleeve tattoo, glasses) was pretty rude. When I asked what was in the mezcal drink I asked the bartender to surprise me, she said it was a tequila drink. I asked her what else was in it, she laughed and walked away. Not at all what I’ve heard about E&R service or what I experienced on my first visit. I’ll go back a third time but opt for a la carte and if I get placed in that waitstaff’s area, asked to be switched.

    Overall dinner was delicious and our plates were well-timed, until the final course. We waited almost 45min between the second to last and the last dish, which then ended up being undercooked. Disappointing ending to an overall fantastic meal. Definitely still recommend this restaurant.

    Emmer & Rye was an absolute delight. We celebrated my moms birthday at the chef’s table and couldn’t have had a better time. The staff was so welcoming and gave great recommendations. They all wished my mom happy birthday and even gave her a card! Everything we ordered was absolutely wonderful. I will be back

    This is not a casual, cheap place to eat, but it is innovative, delicious, homey, and exciting. As someone who has eaten at a lot of upscale restaurants, this one actually had things on the menu that were different from anywhere else. The ingredients were fresh, the ideas were playful, and pretty much everything was tasty af.

    This place came highly recommended to us so we had high hopes. Unfortunately, we couldn’t choose the star experience platter (that night it was pork based) because all 4 had to participate (one of us was vegetarian). The veg offered to pay the $85 and eat something else anyway but it didn’t work. Beware if you are veg. Every option contained pickled items with no warning. Basically every single dish had some variation of cold pickled veg tossed in. The cacio e pepe pasta was out of this world and luckily they didn’t add anything pickled to it!!Everything else was ok and forgettable. The staff were kind and busy. It’s just not a place with many tasty options if you don’t eat meat. And the meat options had a lot of vinegary pickles around them.

While we obviously are proud of our fermentation/pickling program and do incorporate those elements into alot of our dishes, it seems like we missed the opportunity to manage that expectation adequately. I'm so glad you loved the cacio e pepe though! Our menu does change daily so next time you come in, there will be a whole host of new dishes and hopefully some of those are more in your wheelhouse.     We had a group of six and everyone was very pleased with the food and service. I thought that some of the prices were on the high side given the portions -- some were what I would normally expect for full-size entrees rather than something in between small plates and full size, but I was not concerned about the overall cost. The wine list has a good range of selections. Be advised that the noise level is fairly energetic -- not amenable to quiet conversation -- but that was not an issue for our party.

    Slightly overpriced for what it is IMO. Also ordered the duck breast and they neglected to tell us that dish had changed to duck leg until after they brought the dish out. For a $40 dish that’s a pretty big mistake, especially since seeing duck breast on the menu was the reason we decided to come in

    An amazing eclectic menu, all plates for sharing with friends. Some out of this world delicious sauces on red snapper and grouper fish - avocado-based, coconut milk-based, herb-based - all truly yummy! Sourdough bread and cacio e pepe pasta the very best I’ve had outside of Rome Italy! Service staff and kitchen crew were really personable and informative- since theyhad to explain many of the delicious ingredients we were eating. Definitely a memorable evening!!

    My husband & I took my daughter & her boyfriend to Emmer & Rye to celebrate her birthday. The food & service were exceptional. My daughter is vegetarian so the waiter explained all the options available for her, and there were quite a few. As a birthday gift, they surprised us by bringing an extra pasta dish for her that normally includes meat, but mushrooms were substituted, so she'd have something to eat while we ate a delicious dish that included chicken. They also brought an extra dessert! Be sure to get the bread and at least one pasta dish; those are their specialties and they are amazing!

    Thank you to the entire staff at Emmer and Rye. It was my girlfriend’s first time there and the pork tasting menu was elegantly made. The gifts that we received were thoughtful and delicious. Rajiv fid a great job hosting us, and the surrounding support staff complemented that great service! We will be back one of these days!!!

    Howdy - BIG TEXAS HAT TIP to the Chef and Staff. My friend, who just got his citizenship, wanted to celebrate the special occasion, so I booked a reservation at 8:15pm last Thursday. First of the hospitality of the staff and head chef was amazing. Every course we ordered came out with a complementary course as a gift. The amount of thoughtfulness and consideration this team put into our experience and meal was over the top. This is the best meal I’ve had in 2023. This was probably the best meal I’ve had since I can remember. Absolutely a class act. 10 out of 10 recommend this place! I will be back! Thanks for the special night!

    I was very excited to return to E+R after an incredible experience a few months ago. We all ordered the tasting menu again ($85/pp) we understood it was pork based…. But frankly, the variety and experience left us all feeling a bit “meh”. Just wasn’t enough for any of us to be reeling about it. Not like last time…. Dessert was by far the best part. It won’t deter us to try the tasting menu again… we’re up for it. The SOMM was super great and introduced a wonderful wine, perfect for us.
