The food was amazing! Every bite was just phenomenal. And, highly engaging with the dim sum cart coming around during our various courses. And, Nick was fantastic - a great food Sherpa.
Great farm to table concept with ‘dim sum’ style service to supplement. Very creative and delicious offerings from starters to desserts. Recommended it highly.

We had been wanting to go to this place quite a while and finally made it. I feel that every single thing we ordered was lacking in seasoning. I had steak and I have no idea what kind of meat that actually was. It was really improperly prepared or cut. The French omelette however was outstanding. I would not return here. There are just too many other places to try in Austin.
Here for Sunday brunch, bit limited menu with most items quite rich (delicious if you like that, not perfect if you want something a bit more simple), chic space,, servers young, friendly and enthusiastic. That’s the positive. The negative - we were among first people to arrive shortly after opening and hostess after pondering the map for an extra minute gave us horrible table in back of 90% empty restaurant. I never quite understand why you give someone an F.U. Table in an empty restaurant. In any case when we complained we were moved to a nicer table by the window - but why why why start your interaction with such a negative experience? You have one chance to make a first impression and this one was muffed.
Service impeccable. Food disappointing. Husband had
pasta which was good but not hot enough. Bread service on dim sum which was very clever was outstanding. Red snapper crudo I found lacking in flavor. Needed citrus or something to balance the taste.

Was a great dining experience all around. We decided to spend our money on food instead of drinks as it is pricey. We ordered 4 dishes. They were all varying degrees of excellent. We loved how they source locally and have zero waste. Our server Megan was great , the waitstaff communicated great with each other and we hand a great anniversary!
Entirely underwhelmed by the food served to us last night. The shrimp salad contained possibly the smallest, most measly shrimp we had ever seen, sat in a puddle of water as if defrosted on the plate, swiftly soaked furthermore in a cream sauce leaving us both feeling rather sick. The steak tartare was, at best, average and the portion sizes of each dish were quite unbelievably poor. We tried an avocado on toast which looked as though it had been going round on the tray for a few hours. The oysters similarly did not appear appetizing. Despite the politeness of the staff as they presented their pitch, and the nice ambience of the setting, I found the experience almost insulting. We had to cancel our final dish as we did not wish to continue further, we had seen enough. We paid our bill at $115 and left hungry and disappointed. The staff did give us a cork for our wine and 5 slices of bread in a bag as an apology, and we ventured on to find more sufficient food elsewhere. I can only assume that a) the culinary team were having a bad day or b) the other people leaving reviews are not particularly experienced in good quality tapas and dim sum. I hate to leave a bad review like this, but we both felt quite compelled to leave our honest thoughts on the experience. If you try it out, I hope they prove you otherwise.
Best meal I’ve had in a long time.
E&R has built on tapas and dim sum concept of dining to create a step out cuisine unmatched anywhere else as far as I know. Then the creations are actually delightful in the palette. They are not just good looking stylish presentations, but truly yummie offerings that satisfy. And smiles are plenty with no air if pretentiousness. The crew in the floor works like a team.
We absolutely loved the cocktails and the very creative menu for food. Had a wonderful time. We would go back for sure!
We enjoyed our brunch overall. However, beware of the pastry cart, the pastries are overpriced and really add up to make brunch quite expensive!
We went to Emmer & Rye for brunch this morning and had a the most lovely experience. Our waitress, Jacqueline, was an amazing person and it really made our experience memorable. The food was great, the ambiance is calming, and I look forward to going back.
The food is beautifully presented, but the flavors let a lot to be desired. The beef tartare was composed of long strings of beef, about 1/4 inch thick, not the easiest to eat with the crackers served alongside. The omelet was tasty, but who serves that with 3 boston lettuce leaves? The croque madame had an odd, unpleasant flavor and was topped with greens. Not really what I expected. Service was polite, but distant, like they didn’t really want to be there. Not sure why this place gets so many accolades, we’re not likely to return.
Food is amazing and the service is equally as good. If you want to have an integral dining experience, you definitely ought to visit E&R.

We rarely write reviews, but Emmer & Rye deserves a great one. On an unlikely street full of college bars, this restaurant offers Michelin-quality dining from a staff that is as passionate about food and talented as we have seen anywhere in the world- period. Absolutely THE place to dine for discerning foodies, in Austin. Go and see for yourselves.

Our service was exceptional as always. Ally and Alex could team a master class in service (sorry if I spelled your names wrong). Food was world class as always.
My flight was delayed and they were able to accommodate us. Small plate style with plenty of vegetarian option for one in our party who was vegetarian. I never thought I’d say this but my favorite was a carrot dish. They prepare everything wonderfully with delicious sauces and accompaniments. 3 of us spent about $300 including tip, desserts and cocktails. So not super pricey and you can definitely manage the costs more if that’s a concern.

I always love my experience at Emmer & Rye. We always love the ambiance, service and food. The same was for this reservation. Great experience. A few things were a tiny bit on the salty side but it didnt keep us from finishing them off.
Innovative menu. The western "dim sum" was a nice choice. Only downside was a tendency to go heavy on the salt. The staff was very gracious in addressing this.

We went into Emmer & Rye with high expectations and were stunned. The quality of the service is as high as possible and the staff goes to great lengths to make sure you are comfortable, happy, and informed about the food and drink. This alone is worth mention, but the food itself was worthy of that excellent service. All our dishes were interesting and delicious and the dim sum concept was truly fascinating.

One of our favorite restaurant experiences in Austin. Excellent service and, over the top, excellent and delicious food. We loved the “cart” choices offered throughout our evening. Cannot wait to go back.
Phenomenal in every way! The food was amazing! Every single plate is prepared with such creativity and care. It was hard to pick a favorite because everything was unbelievably fantastic. Such a fun and wonderful evening! Can’t wait to visit again!

Can’t recommend this place enough, and I’m excited to return sometime since they change the theme of their menu every 3 months or so
