Emma's Ale House Ratings and Reviews
Good food. Loved the complimentary fresh baked pretzel sticks and mustard! Great service! I got together with a few friends for lunch. The folks at Emma’s were friendly, accommodating and did not rush us. Go with friends, family, a date or alone. You’ll love it.
Disappointing! Food and service both mediocre. The kale and romaine caesar salad had no kale in it (all romaine); the dressing and shaved cheese were just fair tasting The portion of salmon that I paid additional for, was very small. The wine (bottle of chianti) was a poor representation of chianti! The server was very inattentive...never checked to see if we needed anything after our food came; never even asked if we wanted dessert or coffee a the end. The ambience was fine and the pretzels and mustard at the start were novel, and the only thing I enjoyed about the food.
Always love this restaurant. Food consistently good and staff alway accommodating- had to add a person to my rez a day before and when I called they did so with no attitude or anything... so kind! Leave room for desserts, which are yummy, but that's tough to do cause the food is so good!
Service was horrible, truly horrible. We were there at noon on new year’s eve so it was not busy. The waitress never came back to check on us after table was cleared to see if we wanted desert. We finally after 20 minutes asked someone to send her over. Never did she apologize but rather just handed us a desert menu. I have gone to Emma’s on several occasions but will now be going next door to Sam’s.
Though everyone at my table enjoyed their lunches, as a vegan, the menu was extremely limited. The signature pretzels and veggie burger were not vegan, so I ended up with just a plain salad with no topping available. I would have appreciated some effort to accommodate this popular plant-friendly eating preference.
I used to love to dine at Emma’s. The half roasted chicken used to be my favorite. I asked the server for double vegetables instead of the whipped potatoes, because I am allergic to dairy. When my food arrived, they gave me whipped potatoes. I didn’t bother mentioning it to the server because I was hungry.
I ordered the Tito‘s Moscow mule drink special, only to find out later On that the bartender was using absolut vodka instead of Tito‘s. Tito’s is gluten free. I have a gluten allergy that’s why I ordered the Tito’s.
needless to say my stomach was very upset the next day. Sadly I will not be returning to Emmas.
Awesome place for much better than expected food. Most pub food is predictable and usually served up by staff that value volume over quality. The service and ambiance were excellent. The Sesame Crusted Salmon was cooked perfectly and very tasty. We will definitely come back!
Very crowded and noisy on a Saturday night with nothing to absorb sound. Given just how busy the restaurant was, the waiter was VERY attentive and friendly. Excellent chicken pot pie chosen by our friend, delicious salmon BLT eaten by me (with half taken home). And the very best ice cream brought in from Longford's. Big portions, but high prices for all. Many higher end restaurants get significantly less $$$ for a cappuccino, for instance. Overall, a good time!
Not representative of prior experiences, which have been very good. Restaurant was extremely busy. Only two servers covering the dining room. They did a great job but were overwhelmed. Drinks were very slow. Two orders of soup were warm (not hot). Nightly special flatbread crust wasn’t completely cooked and was very greasy.
I had the short ribs, which were tasty, but the mashed potatoes were tasteless and dry. We also were served coffee that tasted bitter and burnt. The waitress took the coffee off of the bill. We are willing to try again some time.
We haven't been to Emma's in a year or so, and it was time to return.
I ordered a special burger (Pat LaFreda) with bacon. onion rings, pulled pork and mac and cheese. I was in the mood for meat. This burger was juicy and tasty. The toppings became side dishes there was so much. The onion rings were steak house crisp, and not greasy. My wife had the chicken tacos (in a hard shell). Please offer them soft.
We'll return sooner rather than later.
