They do not honor the Open Table reservations. This is the 2nd time within 2 weeks that I had a reservation and had to wait the same amount time as someone who just walked into the restaurant and requested a table. The hostess is not pleasant, I understand it could be overwhelming but I do not need an attitude from her.
The food is outstanding but portions are small
Food was great, however, service needs improvement. My husband and I ordered a flatbread pizza for an appetizer and just as we had gotten that and taken our first bite our entrees were being brought to the table. As a former waitress, that is a big no-no. Knowing they were putting our food to sit under a hot lamp we just asked that they bring it out to us. The waitress then asked if we wanted another round of drinks and we both ordered something but she only returned with one drink forgetting about the other. I also had to grab another waiter to bring parmesan cheese (it is an Italian restaurant and we both ordered pasta...the waitress should have brought cheese over without us asking).
Emilios is always full, because it deserves to be! We took our daughter, who lives in Seattle, here because out of many Italian restaurants in the area, Emilios is our favorite! She agreed that the food was great and she especially enjoyed the meals that had red sauce on them.
This time, I ordered the delicious meatballs, but I usually order the cabonara with chicken which I also really love. The only thing that could have been improved was the bread, but I think on other visits there was more of a choice than on a Saturday.
If you go on a Friday or Saturday, make reservations ahead of time and avoid the line.
I have been to Emilio's before and have loved it. However this visit was very disappointing. Let's start with our waitress who was not friendly. I had to ask for food menus. Not to mention the four slices of bread that came out in a pasta bowl???? I ordered a pasta dish and asked for cheese several times... needless to say I'm still waiting in my cheese. My pasta was also under cooked. I also notice their menu changed and I was not impressed. Overall most likely will not return.
We are only on Long Island a few months of the year and live about an hours drive from Emilios. But we like it so much that we go there at least 4 or 5 times during our short stay. Reservation time always respected, good prompt service, and great food. We meets friends there and they too travel about 45 minutes to get there. They love it as well.
The food at Emilios is always on point. The Sicilian pizza is out of this world!!!
Simply amazing. I have nothing bad to say about Emilios, however the service is not always the best. Typically you have to wait a while for the server to bring over menus to the table. My advice is to have the hostess give the customers their menus when they are seated at the table instead of having the hostess say to the guests that the waiter will bring the menus. So silly & wastes so much valuable time!
This was our all time favorite restaurant but I think they got too busy. Last two times services was terrible. This time waiter forgot appetizers. Then messed up food order Literally had to beg him for a check just to get out of there. Such a shame cuz we live chef Chris but quality and service on decline
I'm thrilled with the Limoncello Alfredo Shrimp Special I had. Wow. Their regular menu is real good anyway, I find lots of healthy choices, (thin veggies made like pasta called Skinny Girl) as well as those that are yummy and I can't help but order. Happy to see added Specials because we eat there so often I love trying new dishes.
The beet salad was tasty, fresh & delicious. More salad than beets but a nice size portion. It was served with a balsamic reduction and mild goat cheese. The eggplant rollatine was filled with fresh ricotta and covered in red sauce & mozzarella. Very hot & delicious. My dining guest had the chicken parmigiana which he said was tender & delicious, also.
I love this restaurant! The bartender Stacey is by far one of the greatest mixologists in New York and super nice and sweet! I thought I was a goner when I found out I had celiac, but Chris and the rest of the staff seem pretty knowledgeable when it comes to non-contamination and great food. One (selfish) suggestion, get some good gluten free bread to lap up all the delicious sauces your kitchen makes!
The food is always great. Getting a table even when you have a reservation is a nightmare. When you arrive they barely acknowledge you exist and they tell you there is still going to be a wait and it's the same wait they tell there other customers what the point of a reservation and the last two times we made a reservation we had to remind them we had one then magically it was our turn to sit. In my eyes this is unacceptable. On a good night, our waitress was also amazing last night.
We've always loved Emilio's, but never went there on weekends because of the long wait for a table. Now that we can make a reservation, we'll be going all of the time.
The food is just fantastic. Delicious and we always have leftovers to take home. I'd recommend it to everybody, as long as you make a reservation.
Decent after a rough start. When they sat us, only the drinks and specials menu were given. Asked a waitress for a menu and was ignored. So we sat for about another 10+ minutes before someone finally gave us regular menus. Turns out he was the waiter for our table. After that, everything went smoother. Food was alright, service better after the rough start.
