We just picked this restaurant due to proximity to the movie theater, but we were very pleasantly surprised by the innovative tapas, their variety and exceptional taste. Loving tapas, we went to most tapas restaurants in Chicago and suburbs, and this became our number one favorite.
I was very please at Emilio’s , that was our first time at a tapas restaurant.
Food was great . Next time in Chicago we would denetely go again.
Wonderful experience. House Sangria was very good. Food was excellent. We shared three tapas. The Brochette of Beef and the Bacon Wrapped Dates were outstanding.
Emilio's is an old standby that consistently delivers wonderful tapas in a great atmosphere. Forget the pretentious crusted and infused places that last a year at best. Go for lasting quality.
The tapa selection was extensive. We ordered 9 different items and then dessert. Everything was amazing! Will definitely being going back, and happy they have a suburban location too.
Large menu with many choices to please everyone. Always high quality with special care taken for every dish. We dine here frequently and they never disappoint!
Definitely a must try! Our server was very helpful and polite! The food was delicious!
Great weeknight visit to introduce the kids to tapas.
The servers, bartenders and management were all very kind and knowledgeable. The happy hour specials were AMAZING!!! The mushroom soup was the best I've had! I am one of those people that like to taste this or that during meals. This place is heaven for that!
I went here with my girlfriends to celebrate my birthday. We had a great time. The tapas are excellent. If you have time, I strongly recommend ordering the Paella. On Sundays it comes with a bottle of wine which is nice touch. The restaurant has a cozy feel and it's never too noisy so it's easy to talk to your friends. I definitely would recommend this place for a fun night out.
This is a must try gem of a restaurant. It is good for dates, family or business. Excellent food and service.
First visit to Emilos and we found it very good and reasonable. Service was very good and the waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu.
Tomato basil tapa was amazing.
GREAT service. Fun place, terrific food.
We would go again!
I hope that our waitress was new. But she needs more training. She did not understand instructions nor get orders correct. And since her English was poor, communication was difficult. Someone tried to appease us with a free tapas and drink coupons, but we never heard directly from management. The service was fair but the food was good.
A little bit of Spain in Chicago.
Tapas or small plates have been so misused and ruined by a generation of nuevo grub "chefs" who think all you need to do is combine fifteen ingredients, serve small portions and charge large prices.
It's wonderful to see authentic places like Emilio respect the art of Spain and Tapas.
With excellent, knowledgeable wait staff, wonderful wine list and not a bad plate on the menu, it's like a little bit of Costa Del Sol in Chicago.
But don't tell anyone - I want to be able to get a table without waiting weeks.
Delicious!!!!great small tastes of food...nice drink selection with great sangria!!!!!
Amazing food! On par with Iberico or Cafe Ba Ba Reeba!
Great tapas, great service!
The tapas portions were larger than most places - two of us shared three tapas and that was plenty, and then we shared a dessert as well. Our waitress was really friendly and attentive.
There was a large party of about 20 seated near us, but the noise level was not bad.
The weakest component was the red sangria - it was fine, but nothing special.
Wonderfully tasty and large portions for tapas. Sadly Menu slightly different from online menu.. Went specifically for octopus tapas but it was only offered as an entrée. Octopus tasted amazing but only wanted tapas portion- and price. Also wish happy hour was not just limited to bar only. great food and ambiance - and friendly fast service.
Food is always very good and service was impeccable. The restaurant decor is getting a little dated but food makes up for it!
Had an amazing experience our server Jose was very attentive to all our needs would definitely go back again food was amazing
Leisurely yet very efficient
Comfortable ambiance can bridge from casual to special occasion, family or business
Perfect for a reunion dinner for visiting my daughter at college. The tapas were flavorful. The service was attentive. The ambiance was authentics. Had a wonderful time.
Tapas was great. The paella was just ok. The seafood was a tad overdone and I longed for more saffron
Went here for our 5-year anniversary. Excellent food, great red wine sangria, and kind/attentive waitstaff. I come here at least twice a year and am never disappointed.
Fantastic evening with my husband. Our food was fabulous and the service great. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Chicago.
Norma was amazing! Ask for her if you come.
Food was delicious and authentic. The grilled calamari was especially good. Will definitely return.
Found this in the area we were staying. They took our party of eight easily. Tapas based - the food was exceptional. We tried a variety of plates and then each had a main course. For sure try the bacon wrapped dates. Some of the dishes are on the spicy side so if that is not your thing be sure to ask.
There were a range of specials which several in our party ordered. They were all excellent.
The service was friendly and attentive. The staff were very professional.
This would be a great place for business events in addition to private events and ideas I lived in Chicago would frequent it on a regular basis. I will bring my family here some day.
Food was delicious and service superb. Paella was superb as were the tapas we enjoyed. Every dish was excellent
Great food, great waiter, great evening.
We went for our anniversary and enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and food immensely!
Our server Luis was amazing! Very helpful in describing the dishes, super quick both the server and the actual cooking, and accommodating for our first tapas experience. Super quiet and friendly on a Friday night. Wish I had room to try more! Great specials daily.
Generally good experience, but they need to let food rest before serving it. A couple dishes were WAY too hot. Bacon wrapped dates burned my date's mouth. Also got the order wrong, which is a bit frustrating. But it was resolved quickly. Food tastes great, though.
Very authentic Spanish food, delicious, fresh, beautifully prepared and presented. The calamari and shrimp were cooked just right and seasoned lightly, just to enhance their natural flavours. The potatoes dish, the chick pea dish (a delicious version of houmous) and the cured meat and cheese platter were all fabulous, but the baked goat cheese was the star. Would definitely recommend this place.
Best place for tapas in Chicago
We went to Emilio's for our New Year Eve's dinner with friends and family. Our table was ready, service was outstanding (thanks!!), the food was really good and the waiter even helped us get some "custom" drinks made. We had a great time and for sure will go back there when visiting Chicago.
We always enjoy our visits to either the two restaurants, Hillside or Chicago. This time was Sol y Nieve in Chicago. The food is excellent, service and the ambiance are great. The only drawback are the prices, but its about the same everywhere else you go.
Variety of options on the menu to choose from. Delicious flavors and strong ingredient combinations. Absolutely would love to come back and share with family and friends.
