Always a pleasure to dine with Emilio
The food was excellant, as always! Our waiter was attentive but not pesky, and he was very patient while waiting for us to order.
I have been to Emilio’s many times. I invited my friend for dinner last Tuesday. We had the mushroom soup which is delicious. We had the seafood paella and flan de caramelo for dessert. The mango sangria is good. I also had port wine. There are a lot of tapas on the menu. There’s entertainment on Fridays. I’m going back soon. Emilio was going around greeting the customers too.
We’ve been going to Emilio’s since 1989.
love Emilios! we always enjoy our experience here, and its always worth it!
This is one of our family's favorite places because Emilio's is always good. Excellent, friendly service, delicious food and an overall fun atmosphere. The garlic potato salad is so darn good, I could eat the entire plate without sharing! Also notable was the lemon sorbet with marinated plums, lovely!
This is my favorite restaurant! Been coming here for several years. It’s a bit steep for everyday dining, but I like to treat myself every so often. I’ve never been disappointed.
Located is a commercial street wedged between a malodorous car-repair shop and a giant truck storage and repair facility, and in teh vicinity of fast-food restaurants, my initial hopes were not high. This initial impression was quickly erased after walking in and being greeted warmly by the manager, and taking in the fragrances of southern Spain. Emilio's strives to create authentic Andalusian dishes and Spanish classics such as paella and Serrano ham, accompanied by a well-curated wine list. I started with a Spanish version of burrata, with locally-grown tomatoes and a sherry rather than balsamic vinaigrette, continued with an excellent paella de mariscos, and finished with figs filled with creme fraiche and a Marcona almond, all accompanied by a glass or full-bodied riserva Rioja. To my jaded West LA and New York palate, I was deeply impressed, wishing that they could open up a branch in Southern California, since excellent Spanish restaurants are lacking. Having a restaurant of such quality is clearly appreciated by the residents of surrounding communities, judging but the crowd it generates. Likely one of the best restaurants in the Chicago western suburbs.
Their potato salad is consistently exquisite. The garlic within the mayo.... dreamy! I also have a great fondness of the Ambar 1900 beer. Let's not forget about the delicious profiteroles and coffee for dessert.
Outstanding Paella Valencia. Tables a little tight, but high energy on a Saturday night! Great value and we will be back!
Emilio’s has always been a regular spot in my family. Consistently great food!
It was our first time there so our waitress Anna Marie explained the menu, the portions, and the specials. She was extremely helpful and kind. Her recommendations were fabulous and the calamari was amazing. It was the first time I have tried calamari and I would definitely recommend it at Emilio's!
Love it here. But made reservation for birthday & they did not acknowledge the occasion 😢
Excellent food, atmosphere and service as always.
I went to celebrate my husband ‘s BDay, but We were very disappointed.
This restaurant had better times. It seems to be in decadence. The food was not as good as it used to be. The steak was not tenderloin as described in the menu. The potatoes where soaked in oil.
We had a bad experience when we got billed $50. They charged no show, because one of the couple had to go back home due to the husband was having a stomachache and was not feeling too well. Even though there were 11 of us present for dining.
We explained about it but they did no removed it from the bill. The manager even tried calling the owner’s by phone to explain the situation, but she did not care and kept the $50 charge.
We have been going to this restaurant to their different locations for over 25 years, but I will never go back again.
They are not the same anymore.
I regret taking my husband there for his B-Day.
There many great Spanish Restaurants in Chicago, Emilio’s Tapas is out of mine and my friend’s list.
It was nice to go to Emilio's with another couple and have each person order at least two items to share.
Then we had a lot of options to try. The food was very good and the wine was a generous amount and very tasty. Two of us had the chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce and it was incredibly delicious. Really also enjoyed all the murals on the wall. A nice place.
Exceptional as always!! We had 5 of our favorites and tried 3 new! Can’t wait to go back! Always as fantastic dining experience, THANK YOU!
The food was fine but not great. Service was superb, however. Not worth the drive from the South side of the city, but a cozy and friendly place for dinner if you’re in the area.
Always great, all ways great! Every time we go we are delighted.
You still get good tapas here. Goat cheese in red tomato sauce, dates wrapped in bacon, beef briochette, mushroom caps are all worth ordering. Skip the golden beets and eggplant, its mostly bread. Good red sangria as well. Patio is nice but it was loud due to it being rush hour.
No one does tapas better than Emilio. His special dinners are not to be missed. Our dinner guests told us it felt like eating in a typical local restaurant in Spain, and they have visited Spain.
Food was good but it’s kinda expensive but it was a nice ambiance
The menu always features specials that are creative and seasonal
Emilio's is one of our must-stop locations whenever we are back in Chicago. The Sangria, the food, and the service are always great. Don't leave without trying the banana dessert.
Love this place. Go there as often as I can! I give it 5 stars!
We have been here a few times over the years. Food was great. We order two cold tapas, ENSALADA RUSA and PLATO DE JAMÓN SERRANO, and two hot tapas, CAZUElA DE POLLO SALTEADO and MONTADITOS DE LOMO DE CERDO. Combined with the Spanish Rioja wine everything was very good. Service was a tad slow but nothing to really complain about. Overall a very enjoyable dinner.
Always a great visit! Food is always delicious. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Look forward to coming back.
After 30 years Emilio's continues to offer great food with friendly service. Paella Sunday with complimentary bottle of wine is a outstanding meal.
Met a long time friend for Sunday dinner - enjoyed a pitcher of sangria (there are 6 varieties to choose from). We enjoyed three of the cold tapas and one hot - all delicious. We had dessert (profiteroles). We lingered and didn't feel rushed - our server Anna was attentive but not hovering. It was a relaxing evening catching up with an old friend.
it was FANFREAKINTASTIC! Delicious as always!! Another delectable evening at Emilio's. Every bite was absolutely scrumptious! We tried 3 new tapas and had lots of our favorites! CANNOT wait to go back! Thank you for NEVER disappointing! We were there Saturday evening and Emilio was there and greeted his guests. He is a class act! Loved it!!
Was able to try a few samples of different wines at the bar before I bought a bottle with dinner.
Service very friendly and accommodating. Food was amazing. Sat out on patio on Friday night - live music was fun.
Rosa our waitresses is the best!!
Great food. Tasty sangria. Helpful waiter. Outside seating a bit noisy due to traffic, but okay.
Wonderful Experience, Emilio even visited the table.
Delicious food!! Great service and ambience.. loved that Chef Emilio came to our table to say hello. We would definitely come back!!
Excellent well-prepared Spansih Tapas. Great selection and serivce.
Emilio's is a great destination when you can't make up your mind, but know that you want amazing food. The small plates let you cater to your taste buds while the paella and entree sized portions let you have a more traditional meal. The wine list has a good selection of Spanish wines at all price points and of course there is sangria. Take advice from your server, especially for a daily special that is not on the menu. We had a smoked venison dish, sliced paper thin with a dried fruit compote and a vinaigrette dressing. The seafood pincho offered a combination of salmon, scallop, muscle, swordfish, and shrimp atop a bed of forbidden rice. Trusty favorites include the garlic potato salad, Spanish olives, asparagus and red pepper salad and stuffed mushrooms. It's hard, but save room for dessert.
Really enjoyed everything about thus meal and can know totally agree with online reviews everywhere that Emilio’s is the place for tapas.
So many GF options it was amazing!
We don't love every menu choice, but there are lots to choose from. There's usually one excellent option on the specials menu. Make sure to visit Friday for live music. Covered outdoor seating is great in summer.
