It did not disappoint. We have eaten at other celebrity chef establishments before, but Emeril’s was excellent in every regard, and met our most loftiest expectations. Not a tourist trap nor overpriced celebrity chef hangout, truly excellent in every way.
The exerience at Emiril's was deliciousness surrounded by service excellence. We both had the Barbecue Shrimp starter, a savory dish of shrimp swimming in a tasty dark brown sauce. The Wagyu beef fillets were expertly grilled. Our servers were awesome and the venue is beautiful. Top ratings!
Went there for our anniversary, was greeted at the door and wished a Happy Anniversary, went to our table and that was where the well wishing ended. Ordered the fried chicken and also the filet. Emerils ruined me on fried chicken, I will never eat fried chicken anywhere else.
Lovely meal and impeccable service
Service was some of the best I’ve ever had, menu was so diverse and appealing. One of the best meals I’ve had in Nola.
Excellent in all respects.
My friends and I came just for dessert on Pi Day. We we're a little nervous because we were just going in for dessert and we knew it was a nice restaurant, but everyone treated us with the upmost respect and did not care at all. Staff was super nice!
Took my wife for her birthday. Conducted quite an extensive research beforehand of lots and lots of the wonderful restaurants this city has to offer. Without going into much detail I would hands down visit it again. It’s going to be my stopping point every time I fly from Miami. Went to Commander’s Palace the next day and, although, the ambiance and the food presentation were five stars, they can definitely learn from Emeryl’s attention to detail. Little things that count. I would leave six stars out of five if I could.
The food was good and the service was fantastic. The only complaint we had was that we were seated by an area sectioned off by a curtain. There was a large party/meeting behind the curtain that was quite loud and often pushed/bumped us through the curtain disrupting our meal and making it difficult for us to enjoy a quiet date night.
Third time dining at Emeril’s while visiting from California. Never disappoints but this Emeril’s on Julia St. was the best yet! It was a perfect evening!
Amazing food, exceptional service! Fantastic experience all the way around
Disappointed! We visit this restaurant every time we come to NOLA, but after this visit we’ll be looking for other dining options. The waiters were hovering over our table waiting to turn it over for the next diners. We ordered 3 courses, but the main course was over cooked and the chicken was dry. The final straw was that I asked for a box for my leftovers and they gave the box to someone else (and didn’t offer to do anything about it)
Had very high expectations that weren't quite met. Waitstaff and management could use a little more humility... slightly pretentious and very proud of quality of food. Experience was slightly humorous but we were extremely impressed with wine list
We have been visiting Emerils for many years. It is always fun and delicious. We took friends who have never been to Nola and Emeril’s is always a classic. We were seated immediately for our reservation time, and the service was impeccable as always. As for the menu choices, the pork chop,is absolutely amazing. It was huge and delicious. The black drum was also good, as was the duck. I was surprised at the banana pie portion for the price, which is in my estimation over-priced. We were also surprised by one of the wine selections by the glass. It was a Brancott Sauvignon Blanc which we really like, but we buy it at Costco for $9.00. I’m surprised first of all that Emeril is serving such an everyday wine, but especially that they are charging $12.00! We expect something more selective from their wine program. All in all we had delicious food and fabulous service but the attention to detail overall may be slipping somewhat.
It was truly the best meal. The service was great We would definitely eat here again.
The food was amazing and I would go back again and again.
I was "underwhelmed" with the food. There are so many other choices for fine dining in New Orleans. This was my first experience there, and I do not plan to go back.
Emeril's was truly an amazing dining experience. The service was outstanding. The food was absolutely delicious.
The service and food were outstanding.
Although, I was expecting a little more for the birthday feature
of the meal. The birthday boy was served a scoop of lime sorbet with a candle.
I was hoping for a complimentary dessert for the birthday boy and
maybe a birthday song.
The food is incredible. We had the andouille crusted drum fish in a creole meunière sauce
And all I could say was OMG it was delicious. I would highly recommend this dish. Service was wonderful. Make sure you make a reservation
I have had three good meals at Emeril's in the last five years and brought my wife there for dinner on March 11 to show her the great Emeril's experience. We were both very disappointed and she now questions my ability to pick a good restaurant. Thanks Emeril! The problems were with the entrees which I will get to in a sentence or two. My Justin Cabernet Sauvignon was very good. To be honest we both loved the fried shrimp appetizer with caviar. Excellent. But it all went downhill after that. We both ordered daily specials which I have now learned means leftovers from the previous day. My wife ordered the seafood paella entree (more about that in a moment) and I ordered a jumbo shrimp entree. About 15 minutes into our meal and after we had enjoyed the appetizer, a manager came by and told us they had given us the wrong menu and that my shrimp entree was not available on tonight's menu. This is a huge mistake and should never happen. So I went ahead and ordered the lobster pasta entree which was only average and I could have made at home. And now on to my wife's seafood paella. It was essentially shrimp on a bed of lumpy congealed rice that was lukewarm at best. We have had paella before and this was not a good paella. The only seafood in the dish was shrimp. The plating was terrible because there was a burnt piece of sliced french bread on the side of the bowl. What was the point of that? This was a turnoff from the start. How did this make it out of the kitchen? And continuing on to the burnt theme... I ordered the smoked chocolate cake and could not taste any smoke flavor at all. I like all things smoked and this was a huge disappointment. My wife had the banana cream pie and loved it. However overall this was a very disappointing experience. I will not be returning to Emeril's.
We enjoyed our dinner here. The food was excellent. We had the bbq shrimp, seafood gumbo, salmon and drum. The wait staff were all very young and eager to please (not sure if they were all in training!) Our main waiter seemed to treat each table a bit differently...he actually asked us "do you want to hear the specials?" When, after he took our order, he presented all the specials to each other table around us with great detail. There was a bit of confusion with the menus that night and another guest ended up ordering something that was actually not available. It seemed to take the kitchen quite a while to recognize this, so there were repeated offers of apology to that poor guest and so much concern for her that our main waiter forgot about us. We were, however, very well cared for by waiter #2. Constant refreshing of the water glasses was nice but occurred so often that it became intrusive.
My dinner at Emeril's was comical. We had 8:45pm reservations which we had to wait 15-20 minutes for. We had a serving team where about three people were serving us which overcrowded the dining area. We were seated next to a private room with a large glass door that kept opening exposing the private party to us which was uncomfortable. My husband was bumped by a server three times, and I was bumped once. The servers looked chaotic running into each other frequently-there was little space for the overcrowding of servers. The servers were friendly, but we were interrupted many times and could not hear them because of the volume of the restaurant. Our dinnerware was rearranged many times. We had decorative plates when we sat down that were taken away immediately when we sat down. It seemed like they were trying to do way too much without a simple way of doing it. Sure the food was good-but nothing amazing. I would not recommend Emeril's to a friend- it was disappointing and we wish we would have gone to another more local restaurant than this circus.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Thomas and his team took wonderful care of our table of five. We enjoyed the daily special and several of us commented it was by far the most delicious meal of our lives. We will return on our next trip to NOLA.
Hard to say what I liked the best: The greeting, the space, the food, the wine...
Even the presentation was spot-on: All four of us had our courses were served simultaneouly. Delightful! And classic French haute cuisine!
I can't wait to return!
Thanks, Emeril! Your crew is magnificent!
We spent a business convention week in NOLA and were able to dine at some fantastic restaurants! Unfortunately, Emeril's was not one of them. In fact, it was the only disappointment during the entire week. We ordered the most expensive wine from the "glass list" along with several others...all were over priced cheap wines that were a challenge to drink.
The black drum entrée was really bad all the way around. Dry, overcooked bait quality fish served atop a bed of shoe string fried potatoes! Probably the only way to make a dry piece of fish any drier! Really surprised that the effort in the selection of fish(black drum) and it's preparation was so poorly done. The only other fish option was swordfish and heck, they are practically extinct. Hard to fathom their fish selection. Total bust on this particular night.
First time to Emeril’s and won’t be the last. Service was top notch with several of the wait staff waiting on your every need. Their knowledge of the menu and pairing suggestions were on point. A++++ for the staff and of course the food did not disappoint. I recommend the crusted drum.
Service was fine, but it took an hour to receive our fiord. The overall experience was average.
I am a certified international sommelier. Its sad to see a good restaurant damaging a good evening with overprice wines. I look over an extensive wine list and seeing time and time again wines marked up 3-4 times its price. 2-2.5x is acceptable. Its unfair to the clientele.
Overall the food quality and presentation was very good. Felt that our service waiter was not only in a rush but when asked about dishes to eat his response to some was that it wasn't his favorite to eat instead of describing how the dish is made. Even tried to steer me away from the dessert I decided to order. Felt as if their instructions are to turn over the table as fast as they can. Will go to other places next time.
Wonderful meal! Service was outstanding! Food is delicious. Don’t miss this dining experience!
I was in NOLA for a conference. Glad I made a lunch reservation a week in advance. We arrived and the restaurant was packed. We were quickly escorted to our table. Outstanding service and food . The fish was fresh and amazing. The collard greens were delicious. I will return and will make sure I make another reservation.
Had the swordfish steak and the wife had the red drum dish. Both were excellent. The staff was the best of all the restaurants in New Orleans we visited. Truly a great experience.
Had a business lunch, the food and service was excellent. The atmosphere was perfect could carry on a business conversation and not be overwhelmed or compete with a high noise level. The price was not too expensive considering the quality of food and service. The menu was diverse and well planned. Highly recommend, but make reservations. We arrived on time and were seated almost immediately.
Overall Fantastic Experience. We arrived a bit late and were accommodated very quickly. The servers and staff were tremendous in their efforts to keep us comfortable and happy. The Food was absolutely amazing! From the Beet Salad to the perfectly cooked chicken and fish! A True Gem.
Soup of the gumbo (sea food) was awesome. everyone is so kind and friendly.
An amazing dining experience. The service was outstanding and made you feel cared for and the food itself is the centre piece of this place.
A wonderful dinner. I had the drum. Best fish I've ever had. BBQ shrimp appetizer excellent, but small portion. Had chocolate/ grand marnier souffle for dessert. Good chocolate but couldn't taste the orange. Excellent wait staff. Friendly and attentive. Good wine list with nice range of prices. Emeril's red and white wine selections good value. When in New Orleans we always go to one of Emeril's restaurants at least once. Always a treat.
Incredible service, water glass was never empty, Food portions were more than I could eat, topped off with Emeril’s banana cream pie
This place is a must try in New Orleans! The food is amazing. The wait staff is superb. Mike and Michael are a great team. Mike was very personable and knowledgeable. We sat near the kitchen and it was very entertaining! But I also wanted to change my order everything I saw something come out.
